Pretty much the same situation for me even though I wouldn't consider my PC high end (gtx 970, i5 4690k). Nothing I've recently played on my PS4 has made me think: I need a more powerful console right now. I'm not getting VR or a 4k TV anytime soon so there is really no reason to upgrade. I'm with you on 2019 being a realistic timeframe for the launch of the PS5. Chances are that the PS5 will be backwards compatible from the start.

Digital Foundry said that there are only 1-2 people working on the Pro mode for most of the games. It would take a lot of reoptimisation to make the game run at 60fps if that is even possible. Remember that the CPU only got a relatively small boost. I imagine that ND pushed the engine as far as possible when they decided to make it run at 30fps in singleplayer. It's possible that the CPU is bottlenecking and they might have to (for example) scale the physics back to make it run at 60fps. ...
The thing is there will always be limitations. That's not a bad thing because it forces the developers to think about ways to work around them. I'd argue that game design back in the day benefited from the hardware limitations. It caused the dev teams to focus on the essence of their vision and not get distracted as much by the technical possibilities.
Sony were pretty clear about the Pro not having the capability to play UHD BD. If it's just a firmware issue they should clear this up as fast as possible.
Nice research Sherlock. Someone else even called me rookie today. Apperantly I've created a false identity five and a half years ago pretending to look foreward to Playstation games just to produce the otherwise unthinkable event of a Playstation fan criticising Sony. I must be the most dedicated troll in the history of n4g right?
Also looking at my agree to disagree ratio there are only 2 possible explanations: Either this place has been taken over by hostile Xbox fanb...
I feel like keeping the cost low to that extent defeats the purpose of a premium model to begin with. This way it feels like an unforced error to me.
I'm baffled that Sony decided against equipping their premium console (that's clearly aimed at 4k TV owners) with an UHD drive. It's frankly irrational.
Wait what? I think I missed that part. What were Sony thinking? That's extremely dumb.
HDR is high dynamic range. It has nothing to do with the amount of pixels on the screen. Imagine deeper blacks, brighter whites and more colors without oversaturating the picture. It's a closer representation of our natural eyesight.
Unless CD Projekt Red patch in a Neo mode it'll mostly run and look the same.
Prepare to be disappointed then. It's very unlikely that every game will be playable at 60fps unless Sony demands it.
I've had a PS+ subscription even before online gaming was part of it. I mainly subscribed for the monthly PS+ games. With that being said I hate the fact that online is part of it as it forces many people to subscribe. I never was much of an online multiplayer gamer and I'm personally not affected by it because I'd keep my subscription even if online was free but I'm starting to get annoyed by the fact that even though Sony has been collecting huge amounts of money since this ...
Looking at their track record It'll probably take them another year or two to implement an option via email verification. Sony should hire some competent people to fix everything that is wrong with PSN yesterday. It's ridiculous how long it takes them to figure out and implement the most basic features especially when considering the PS+ revenue they have at their disposal.
Honestly this looks more mediocre than anything I expected from Konami.
AC Unity's performance was mainly bottlenecked by the CPU so I doubt that it'll benefit much from the GPU overclock.
It's hard to believe that he did it on his own but in any case he should try to get a team to share the work with. Otherwise the project will probably end up being to ambitious for him to finish or keep up with the progression of technology. Would be a shame to see such a promising project end up in development hell.
Are you kidding? This is exactly what I wanted for almost 20 years. The best Sonic games are still Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles. I'm so happy right now.
Hopefully Sega considers bringing back some other classic franchises. Would be awesome if they'd make a deal with Bomber Games and bring Streets of Rage Remake to consoles.
Really hard to choose between the main games. Infamous 1 has the best story but Second Son has the best gameplay. Infamous 2 has the best soundtrack and it has the strongest overall package imo.
Infiltration is still the man to beat in SFV. Kinda sad that Xian, Tokido, Daigo and PRRog didn't make it in the top 8 though.
Might check it out then. I'm not a huge racing game fan but sometimes it just clicks and I'm addicted (NfS Underground 1 and 2, Burnout Paradise). If it's arcady I might like it.
