Moore's law doesn't really apply anymore. We're beginning to reach the limits for 2 dimensional integrated circuits. You can't keep scaling semiconductors down forever. While Finfet mitigates some of the issues you'll eventually run into problems like quantum tunneling where there is no solution. But most importantly shrinking the die at that rate isn't proportional to the cost reduction anymore. Switching to 3D ICs could restore the performance gains per cost and time...
The article isn't comparing the quality of them as game designers. It's raising the question wether Kojima is setting people up for disappointment by promising too much similar to what Molyneux used to do.
Also I absolutely disagree with your statement on Molyneux. While he hasn't created anything remarkable recently it's unbelievably ignorant to say that he shouldn't even be called a developer.
Agreed. While I wouldn't say it was the best E3 conference I've ever seen it was certainly the most entertaining one. Like you said it was like watching a movie. I've actually rewatched the whole event multiplre times - something I've never done with any E3 conference before.
They were still annoying though. It's pretty obvious that Capcom still has some problems with the Unreal Engine (High input lag, loading times, clipping and lower fps backgrounds). Hopefully they can sort those technical issues out asap.
Other than the loading times I really enjoyed the story mode. Kinda disappointed that Sagat wasn't mentioned though.
Balrog is awesome by the way (haven't tried Ibuki yet). Can't wait for Juri and especially ...
Yeah it was pretty cool. I got chills watching that opening cinematic again. The good old days.
X1 version is confirmed so PS4 version is certainly possible.
When has a big company ever invested all their money in a new technology? Sony didn't bet all their money on the Playstation back in the day and look how that turned out.
I agree it's a new technology and I doubt that anyone expects VR to break any records when it comes to sales numbers right away but the technology will only evolve from here on out and it surely has it's benefits to be among the first on the market and get your name associated with VR early on....
For devs that are already working on different platforms the adaptation shouldn't be much of a big deal since they are likely to work in a high level environment to make things run on all the different hardware. For AAA publishers it'll just be one more box to tick. I just hope that they won't force indie devs to support both console tiers from here on out because some indie devs can't afford to develop more than one console version at a time.
I'm wonde...
Yeah I'll check them out tomorrow when the chaos has settled down a bit. I tried checking it out an hour after the sale started but the store was unresponsive. From what I've seen we won't get daily sales this time.
As a huge fan of the God of War series I never agreed with most of the criticism it got so I didn't feel like it had to change. On the other hand I totally see why SSM thought otherwise especially after the general reception of God of War: Ascension wasn't on the same level as the previous titles. I think the gameplay they showed looked amazing I just hope that there'll be some other weapons on top of the axe too. The combat of God of War has always been very fluid and quite fast....
Yeah I agree it could be some other runes in the beginning for example "Ltn" instead of "en" but there aren't many options and the one I've come up with so far didn't bring up any results either. I tried searching for the "drbua" part which is pretty much 100% right and didn't find anything useful either. Maybe it's 2 words instead of one.
Has anyone found out what the runes above the passage after the first fight mean. When translating using futhark I ended up with the word "endrbua" which doesn't seem to be an existing word.
The only thing i got so far is that endrbua is an anagram for "bad rune".
Edit: It's also an anagram for "a burden" and "nu beard" :D
"... or just have a section in the eshop called shovelware..."
Haha. That would be hilarious.
The lyrics of the song also fit this interpretation:
Faintly
I'll go
to take this
head on
soon I'll come around
lost and never found
waiting for my words
seen but never heard
buried underground
but I'll keep coming
The death stranding might be a symbol for the "suicide" of Konami's gaming division. I think the five figures in the sky are somehow repr...
Ambiguity is not a bad thing in my opinion. I loved the trailer because it was surreal and left me wondering what I've just seen.
The framerate wasn't perfectly solid from what I've seen. But it's possible that the frames were dropped by the stream. It doesn't really matter anyway cause the game probably isn't going to release for another 6-12 months. I trust in SSM to release a polished game.
Death Stranding is in pre production. There is no way it's a 2017 game.
I completely agree. I thought the idea of a good Spiderman game souded great but I didn't want Sucker Punch to make it cause they're one of my favorite studios and I'd rather see them make a new Infamous game or a new IP. I'm also a big fan of Insomniac games and honestly I'd rather see them working on a new Resistance game but Insomniac are usually working on multiple games simultaneously so that's perfect. Not to mention that the chances of a new Resistance by Insomn...
This looked great. I'm really surprised that this is set after God of War 3. Curious to find out what happened in between. The combat looked much slower and heavier than in the previous God of War games. It looked like we're leveling up the boy by teaching him how to hunt and kill. And OMG that Soundtrack. I can't wait to play this game.
To be fair, this shows that Nintendo doesn't rely on their own hardware to be successful. Its value lies within the franchises.
Edit: I personally hope this doesn't give them the idea that they can focus much more on the mobile market as opposed to the console market though.
