Personally I prefer having newer indie titles over old AAA games simply because with the old AAA games chances are that I've already bought them or I'm not interessted in them. Got lucky with Until Dawn though.
Growing up? Some of the best games of all time were made decades ago. I hate the idea that a whole creative industry should move in the same direction. The great thing about games (and movies) is that there is something for every mood and taste.
We shouldn't forget that we're talking about 3D real time rendered graphics here. Just because the technology is there to make 4k TVs and soon 8k TVs doesn't mean that we should rush consoles to meet those resolutions when it means compromising on other rechnological advances. Resolutions are high enough now that they shouldn't take priority when additional processing power becomes available imo.
With PS3 and Xbox 360 we didn't have many native 1080p gam...
Clearly. To be fair Sony's 2015 and 2016 conferences are quite possibly the 2 best press conferences in E3 history. I didn't expect them to follow it up this year because we already knew what the majority of 1st Party studios are working on. But even with lowered expectations it was still a disappointing conference for me.
Don't get me wrong the majority of the stuff they've shown looks great but besides Shadow of the Colossus there weren't any announcem...
This game really deserves a remake. It's a masterpiece but sadly it didn't age very well. If they can modernize the controls while keeping the spirit of the game intact this will be great.
My expectations were a little lower this year simply because we already knew what the majority of 1st Party studios are working on. I still expected more new game announcements though. I thought this is the year Sucker Punch's game gets announced for sure. We didn't even get any non VR indie game announcements.
Theyve showed a lot of great gameplay though. I'm more interessted in Days Gone now and Spiderman looked fantastic. Shadow of the Colossus remake looks ...
They didn't have much to show but at least it was short. I liked the Dishonored DLC, The evil within 2 and Wolfenstein 2 announcements. Sadly The evil within 2 leaked beforehand. They could've easily announced those games at Sony's and Microsoft's conferences.

Great conference. Tons of games, good pacing. Metro and Ori 2 reveal got me hyped. Dragonball Fighter Z looks like it could potentially be the best DB fighting game so far. Super Lucky's Tale looks like retro 3D platformer fun. Shadow of War seems much improved from it's predecessor. Cuphead and Crackdown 3 finally have release dates for this year. Xbox backwards compatibility is great news.
It could've used a AAA exclusive blockbuster to close the conference. M...
Yes it's mandatory.
"A way out" saved it from failing completely but even then it was a mediocre conference. Anthem teaser made me curious but I didn't see enough to get excited.
Need for speed showing was disappointing. Too many cutscenes and the other cars crashed as soon as the player's car touched them. No Battlefront 2 single player showcase.
Bad pacing, bad speakers, still too much talk in general.

@thatguyhayat: How do you know? Isn't it more likely that they've given them the money back by now?
@Jeppsipepsi: Well from what I've read it seems like Miyazaki doesn't want to make any sequels for now and instead try something new.
jmac53: They could still make a sequel in a couple of years.
I want a Bloodborne 2 more than almost any other game announcement. I'm just saying that it's very unlikely that it'll be announced this year.
Sucker Punch's new game is likely going to be the big announcement. Bloodborne 2 however isn't happening with Hidetaka Miyazaki directing the project and it's unlikely that it would happen without him being involved.
Quote from Miyazaki's interview with GNN gamer (translated by neogaf users):
"rather than make another sequel, I think it's time we take a step to a new direction. Development of a new IP has already begun."

That's great. Heavenly Sword was around 6 hours as well.
Agreed. Looks like they did a great job at keeping the dev cost down. Meanwhile Ultra Street Fighter 2 is $40.
Awesome. Love Ninja Theory's games. At 30 bucks I'll definitely pick it up.
If it bothers you that much don't watch E3 and go on media blackout. A lot of people appreciate the fact that Sony is keeping their customers informed on what to expect in the short term and in the long term.
Not even 2 weeks. 9 days til the conferences start. I'm so hyped.
@SenorFartCushion: Well you can't take every petition or blogpost serious these days. As long as Ubisoft isn't reacting I don't see a reason to draw more attention to this.
Yeah. I'm still playing it almost on a daily basis.
