I tried it yesterday because I've seen a lot of people saying it's a great way to play the game. I can not for the life of me understand these people. If you're playing on story difficulty I could see it but why would you completely rob yourself from vital information and in my opinion destroy the combat of the game voluntarily.
How do you even go about a fighting strategy without knowning:
1. The health and level of your enemy?
2. Y...
That's what I thought a minute into the video as well. But with the same bulletpoints appearing in the exact same order and being articulated in a suspiciously similar way it would've to be one hell of a conincidence. Statistically it seems more likely that the reviewer just copied the other review.
To be completely fair though it is obvious that the video only cuts to the very similar parts (of which there are quite a few). It also leaves out some of the parts (pro...
Yeah I agree that the cut content was more ambitious than what we've got in the final game but again that's not unusual at all. Often times the most ambitious ideas are the once being dialed back or cut from the game because of time or budget constraints.
Obviously these early trailers set expectations really high so I get the criticism that the finished game didn't live up to all the promises. I assume that's why most people don't want games to be annou...
I think people are overcritical on Bioshock: Infinite most of the time. I loved both games personally (I loved Bioshock 2 as well even though it's not on the same level as the other 2). And cut content is absolutely the standard procedure in AAA game development so if you gonna knock Infinite for that you can do that with the vast majority of AAA games in existence.
Not going to watch this as I've never played these. Glad to see that they are bringing the originals before Shenmue 3 so we can catch up on the story. Can't wait to see why Huber (ex-Gametrailers, Easy Allies) loves these games so much.
I feel like Fillion nailed the tone in some scenes here. For example the scene where he jumped out of the window. The fight scenes were a little too much on the comedic side imo. Overall it's pretty good considering the budget is probably relatively small.
Try to make that case with the following franchises:
Street Fighter
Super Mario Bros.
Sonic the Hedgehog
Metal Gear
Uncharted
Diablo
GTA
Streets of Rage
Crash Bandicoot
Final Fantasy
That's not what he said. Here is the quote:
"Q: Sony’s E3 showing and recent releases have demonstrated a growth in maturity, minority representation and diversity. How important are these things to you personally when it comes to games as a medium?
A: I think it is extremely important as the games become more and more mass-market entertainment; we need to cater to all kinds of people, whatever the age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or be...
@Goldby: What do you mean? That's exactly my point.
@ShadowWolf: Yeah and if they continue the way they've done it in the past than there is no problem.
I'm not saying that they don't. I love Sony's first party games but I'm worried that they'll start dictating to developers what characters to include in their games for the sake of having as many demographics represented as possible.
I just don't want the higher ups to mess with the creative process of the dev teams just to be inclusive.
Incentivizing the inclusion of different "Age, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Ethnicity, or Belief" from the top down is a bad idea. Forcing ideas through a political correctness filter will only hamper the creative flow of the project. Let the devs decide what game they want to make.
I get what you're saying about the season pass prices I just don't see how one would need to buy every season pass in this game. I've had the game since day one and I've yet to invest any additional money into it. Sure I'm missing out on most of the the stages and the costumes (which I couldn't care less about to be honest) but I have all the characters unlocked with fight money alone.
And to be fair I have to say that since the arcade edition launch...
Fighting games have always been that way though. You can always add new fighters so it's technically never finished. I don't see the problem here. Back in the day you had to rebuy a game multiple times and now you can buy just the additional stuff or even unlock the additional fighters for free.
To attract japanese devs and publishers to their platform. Persona, Ni no Kuni, Yakuza, Nioh, Street Fighter V (although that's somewhat of a special case) aren't on Xbox for example.
Nier: Automata eventually ended up on the Xbox but ideally MS wants those games to release simultaneously with the PS version.
That's an illogical argument. They both can be bad.
Agreed. Very weirdly written. There is also a made up quote in there.
I applaud Sony for giving their devs so much creative freedom and I think they are probably the best major publisher when it comes to balancing the interests of the playerbase and the devs with the interest of the investors (which aren't mutually exclusive mind you).
Horizon and The Last of Us are great examples where Sony allowed their dev teams to work on something other than the guaranteed success of a sequel in an established franchise. They've taken a risk whic...
Producing the hardware is the easy part. Building up talented first party studios takes time and dedication though. Look at Microsoft for example: They are part of the big 3 console manufacturers since 2001 and they still haven't managed to build a reliable first party environment that can compare to Sony and Nintendo despite the fact that they've had game studios working for them for years on PC games at this point.
A lot of the talent is already taken from the mar...
That's what I was thinking too. Crystal Dynamics desperately need good writers as well. Maybe they can make it happen. I wouldn't be opposed to a new IP from Hennig either though. Whatever she is working on I'm glad that she left EA.
Lack of competition from amd and overstocking the 10series chips are likely contributing factors for the late release. The limited spec sheets look ok so far and the raytracing capabilities are promising for the future but I have to say even though I expected steep prices these are actually higher than I thought. Can't wait for more information to come out and the first in-depth reviews though.
