Finally a proper review that also sheds some light on how the different wheels work with the game!

Water, alpha and lighting look better on the console version, it's just a benefit of the newer engine. The overall picture still looks better on PC because of the amazing amount of foliage, better res and no ugly artifacts - this should be a jungle after all and the extra horsepower of the PC makes it an amazingly looking one.

Crysis 1 on the Crysis 2 engine for the Pc would have been awesome.

Exactly! Also: mostly same last gen cars, only upscaled.

Oh, wait. Wrong game

@Heylo, that "60$ update" according to you is still considered better than GT5 according to gamespot (8.5/8.0), so what does that mean about GT5?
Speaking of which, didn't Sony charge like 40$ for the GT5 Prologue which truly was a demo?

the "dis-proven all over the internet" was simply a bunch of trads mistranslating what Yamauchi has said:
http://ps3.ign.com/articles...

"Sony has debunked claims that damage in Gran Turismo 5 is unlocked, telling IGN that the feature "occurs right from the beginning."

P.S:
Yes. Back in 2008, GTA4 was the best open world game. What's your...

Consideringthe N4G crowd, I don't even know if the disagrees are from Forza fans who want to bash GT, or from GT fans who don't even agree that they have the right for an opinion to state Forza 4 "might just about be the best racing simulation ever made"

Not surprised at all. I didn't buy the 360 just for it, but I did buy the dreamcast in the past just for DOA2. It's the best fighting series in my opinion, but I am afraid on how Tecmo will handle it now that itagaki is gone.

A lot of Xbox gamers might like shooters, but many other people bought it because outside the PC it was the best console for RPG fans with early offerings like Fable, Oblivion (while the PS3 was still not available), Mass Effect, Fable 2, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon etc. The trend continues even now with games like Torchlight and the upcoming Witcher 2, so the Xbox = RPGs equation seems just as right.

Games like Fable, Fallout and Oblivion are some of the best sellin...

I have no idea about Forza 4 because I don't have the game yet, but I'm sorry - this has to be said: GT5 doesn't hold a candle to Forza 3 when it comes to actual proper simulation: be it tire simulation, collision damage modeling, road physics and friction, realistic and accurate parts tuning and so on.

While Forza 3 has tons of assists for arcade gamers, turning them all off kicks in the real simulation layer underneath rears its very hardcore head. The only peop...

Don't wake up the troll. He will probably come up with the excuse that GT5 got 7/10 in that same website.

I actually don't like the direct attack on GT5 - they're not reviewing that game in this article so there's no point for this.
Stating "It’s a brilliant game in its own right, and might just about be the best racing simulation ever made" should have been enough to make their point.

So you're saying that you actually prefer playing with sliders instead of playing the game? Adjusting shadow quality 5 times and then running a benchmark instead of enjoying what you're supposed to enjoy!?

ID created one of the holy grails of PC gaming with auto adjustable graphics based on hardware specs without the need for user interference - that's something that is unique to PC and has no point in consoles anyway. And yet people here complain about "cons...

It's funny how the people who claim that IGN is biased against the PS3 are exactly the same people who claim that Edge is biased against the PS3 - and then bring some disputable evidence that at the same time shows how IGN tends to score PS3 exclusives higher.

The actual problem is not so much with Rage getting a 7 in Destructoid, it's the inconsistencies with games getting a 9+...

And a poor one that is.
The whole 5-2 list seems like a void filler for some public whining the writer felt the need to share concerning the fact that Shepard was recovered from a near death situation at the Mass Effect 2 intro sequence. But the ridiculous thing is that this isn't even an actual plot twist. It was already revealed in the Teaser Trailer ages before the game came out:

Actually, Edge is much more consistent with their scores than Eurogamer, especially since Ellie Gibson took over.
You might not like the reasoning behind Edge choices, but at least they are consistent. It's the only site where if I see that a game score a 9/10 or 10/10 I know that it truly deserves it.
