I don't think any of the three big ones are going to agressively cut the price of their machines here in Europe simply because the value of the Euro is much much higher than the yen and us-dollar atm.
I have no doubt that Microsoft is actually earning more money right from the European market than the American and Japanese ones combined.
Was at the premiere in Stockholm, and I highly recommend any ff-fan, or if you're just someone who appreciates great music, to go listen to this.
Great stuff! :)
Gameplay-wise, I'm not fan of either game tbh.
But if we're just comparing trailers, I'd go with Resistance 2. It brings forth the atmosphere and ambience of the game universe really well imo.
The trailer with Edward James Olmos narrating the past events in history before the events of resistance2 is better though.

I completely agree with you.
The only problem is that publishers have the mindset that a generic shooter often will sell some copies because there's so many kids nowadays who only play shooters, on consoles at that, who are potential mass of consumers this generation.
The publisher goes where they know they'll get their money back, sad but true. that's also the reason why many revived IP's get more shooter- and action-oriented, ie. Fallout3. :/
That's why I like that ...
I'm revisiting Going Commando this week and it reminded me how awesome the R&C-series is.
I'm really tempted to get my hands on a ps3+ToD+this atm.
If only Naughty Dog would make another Jak&Daxter with heavier emphasize on the platforming as in the first title I'd be in heaven. :)
I don't think it has been announced for the ps3 as it is.
NamcoBandai seem to make a lot of their titles multiplatform nowadays though, so at least a release in Japan of a ps3-version isn't completely unthinkable... imo.
Shame about only eng-dub, I hope the jap-dub will be released as DLC.
I want to play this game... on my ps2 :D
Nice, she has to pay more cash than what the whole game had as budget during development.
This sucks
As a Character Artist for games I can reassure you that they indeed are from realtime-cutscenes.
The pre-rendered FMV's in FFXIII will look way better than that.
It does look nice though.
I just want this damn game to be released ASAP.
Cool,
But this has nothing to with games at all, this is just an automatic tracking technique as far as I can see that has too little precision for being of any use.
but there's always tons of stuff like this on siggraph every year, most of the techniques never finds any commercial use though.
There are some industries that are less influenced by the rest of the market when it has it's ups and downs, and those are the companies that make candy and toys/games/entertainment overall.
This is because you still buy unnecessary products and you want an uplifting experience even though you can't even afford the morgage, true story.
I find it funny that people disagree on a fact.
The analogue sticks aren't used in tekken, aka not supported at all.
You can't use them because there's nothing mapped to them and you can't map anything too them either.
How are they going to get sued for naming the title "no worries" in Swahili, it's a very common phrase you know.
Just because the use the same phrase as a song title in the Lion King does'nt mean they have a copyright on it... it's like copyrighting the usage of "mañana mañana" in spanish :P
There were a lot of disney-movie-based-games that were totally awesome back in the days.
I remember buying a disney game-bundle for pc with Aladdin, The Lion King and the Jungle Book, 200% awesomness.
Some of the best platformers game from Disney Interactive back in the days imo.
It's always better to be able to have a choice, but rumble in fighters is a nuisance imo.
I really don't understand why some people prefer to have rumble turned on in tekken or soulcalibur, it doesn't enhance the feedback or anything it just ruins the gameplay overall.
Aftonbladet is tabloid in sweden which should'nt be taken seriously in these kind of matters. :P
This is how it should have been:
Aftonbladet: If you had to choose ONE exclusive Nintendo title and launch it for the PS3 instead, which game would it be?
Hirai: Mario... God of War-style. BOM!
You can't use the analogsticks in tekken, it's d-pad only.
this
I am forced to agreed, I finally played Bioshock a while after it had been hyped to the heavens, The art-deco style and atmosphere is really well made and it's a good game, but it is nowhere near the same level as System Shock 2 tbh. It's too dumbed down.
You can go guns blazing in Bioshock and beat the game without a sweat, in System Shock 2 you had to think.
You, good sir, hit the nail.
PS2 software BC is probably the most important feature the machine really needs imo.
I suspect my old trusty ps2 soon will kick the bucket and if I could play a game like SOTC upscaled with higher resolution and proper FSAA on a ps3 it would be really great.
