Cool, I loved Atelier Iris on ps2.
Has there been any screenshots released for this?

You'll need a devkit to make a functioning virus.... and even then you can only use it on your devkit unless sony decides to publish the virus.
The possibility is higher for someone to write a virus on the 360 using xna, which isn't going to happen either.
Consoles are closed platforms, they're like PC's that don't let you let you install anything besides cache-data for approved products. or anything besides using the built in features.
so, basically, nope.

It ...

That's a really good list, but they forgot three of the most important ones, System Shock 2, Eternal Darkness and the original Silent Hill. System Shock 2 in particular.

Actually, the casual gaming-side of the ps2 is its best selling part at the moment. Buzz and Singstar are two good examples that most of us hardcore gamers choose to ignore, unless we're heavily intoxicated. But casual games overall are selling extremely well on the ps2.

If Sony made a Wii-mote ripoff for the ps2, I'm certain they would steal a lot of the spotlight from the Wii and get the attention from all those casual gamers just because of their insane amount of ps2 consoles ...

that paintover doesn't do the comparison justice imo.
Did a quick paintover of my own, just adjusted som basic anatomy like the stylized evil-Adonis jawline and skull shape that kratos has. :)

edit:Is there someting wrong with n4g:s attach image-function?

This is an awesome game, the difficulty curve is waaay steeper than most games and it's not a very forgiving experience for casual to moderate gamers. But, when you've gone past the first level of the game and everything starts to make sense, this is one of the greatest action titles on the ps2.
The presention is ok, really good looking character models but the environments are a low. Overall, it's a hard kickass game that will make you feel like you've accomplished something when you'v...

While I think Onlive is great news for PC-gamers with crappy setups and decent enough internet connections, it won't make gaming consoles obsolete as long as there exists firstparty games and precision games.
I think brand recognition is something to take into consideration as well.
I think a lot of hardcore pc-gamers will use the service, but a majority of gamers overall, will not. :)

They could always port it to ps2 if they want an even bigger market, just change the control scheme to something like that in God Hand. I'd buy that. :)

I hope the rumour about Insomniac's game is true.

Any news about zelda-clones are good news to me. I don't understand why so few games have mimicked the gameplay formula in the Zelda-franchise, it's really simple in the basic gameplay department but so fulfilling as a gaming experience imo.

We need more Okami- and Zelda-styled action adventure titles out there! :)

Concept Artbook for covering all the games in the franchise.
Soundtracks for all of the games.
A poster/Wall-scroll.
A really detailed statue/miniature framing a scene out of the franchise. not just some static mdoel of kratos, I wan't it to be something where he's in action. He's got a lot of dynamic movements, turn it into an awesome statue with him doing something nasty!

Gow: Betrayal playable as a bonus games, they should include it however as an unlockable ...

It makes perfect sense actually considering the game was initially meant to be a multiplayer/coop-game, you were supposed to take down the Colossi with friends working together actually.

The only problem was that they noticed that the ps2 couldn't handle that much stuff going on simultaneously with multiple players playing in, so they made it an awesome singleplayer experience in the end instead. :)

Here's some footage of the SoTC-beta (or Nico as it was called back ...

I hope they make a spiritual successor of the franchise that takes on other mythologies, for example: Norse, Hindu, Sumerian or Aztec myhtology.

The awesome core gameplay and epic scale of the GoW-franchise are a formula too good to neglect imo. :)

Is this article a joke or something?

Middleware really helps out the smaller developers out there, just look at RenderWare last generation and UnrealEngine3/3.5 today.
Now, I'm not saying either of those examples are the greatest engines ever made, but what they did, or still do for that matter, is giving a lot of studios out there the ability to work at a much faster tempo, not having to bother to much about the engine framework they can focus more on scripting/coding the ...

You do know that most of the lipsync and facial animations in MassEffect were done by blendshapes responding to the direct dialogue?
It's really impressive considering all the text in the game, but it IS the easy way out and nowhere near the detail of that you see in facial animations in Uncharted, or Gears of War1+2 for that mattter. :P
