I would much rather like to see a spiritual successor of the franchise made by Platinum though. Kind of like how former-Looking Glass Studios did with System Shock and Bioshock.

BD-R drives have gone down A LOT in price the recent year.
It'll take of more when hi-def retailers that sell computers to casual users will onclude them in their computer packages.

The biggest reason for BD-R for computer aren't high def movies, it's the storage, and that's something that caters for a certain audience, the ones that watch movies/series, listen to music and play games via their computer... not so much for the other bunch of people.. but that other group pro...

Very efficient studio. :)
However, the construction of the Unreal engine took a lot more manpower to complete, they got a rather big freeride since the framework and engine was already built specifically and customized for Gears 2 after they finished the first one.

Dude, everyone here in Sweden kind of knew this. There was even a thread taking bets on one of the bigger hardware-forums in Sweden, discussing if Nordisk Film would be greedy as always and lower the price by a penny instead of €100.
In all the Scandinavian countries, Nordisk Film is the sole distributor of Playstation related products. Funny thing is, Sonystyle has a division in Sweden but you can't buy any of their Playstation products from their store.

The game was really big among mac-fans back in the days, but it did'nt garner as much interest in the publics eye as many other big titles of those days which were on PC and even both.
A friend of mine who was totally a mac-fanatic, his father working for an apple-affiliate might have contributed, almost peed his pants of happiness every time he read about all the cool things that was meant to be implemented in the game and what Bungie talked about in their interviews and press release...

Well, I'll definitely upgrade in a couple of years.
I'm going to stick to my Vista because of 64-bit compatibility reasons mostly. that, and I only got my new pc like a year ago, and it's working perfectly fine for me so far.

I've actually worked as an Environment Artist on an XBLA-title that was about to be released, they however changed their publishing policies halfway through production while the one bloke who was head/headhunter of XBLA-titles at MS quit and started working for Sierra instead, leaving all the projects hanging and kicking a lot of smaller studios and developers in the groin. Making it nigh impossible for anyone to approach them with smaller IP'...

Microsoft used to be easiest, of the three big, to aproach regarding smaller projects.
They however did a capital FU to the indie-devs and the biggest dlck move I've ever seen in my career and made it a prerequisite for people who want to pimp their ideas so that they must have a publisher beforehand they even show up at their gates with a GDD and a smile on their faces, it was not needed at first.. a publisher that is.
From what I've experienced firsthand and with my own eyes, So...

Of course it'll sell more in North America. Protype targets both the 360 and ps3 audience, while infamous is only on the ps3, which has circa half of the install base as the 360 has in the US.
It's not exactly quantum physics we're calculating here.

The ending in God of war 1 is perfect as it is. Sitting there on the throne, looking badass. :D

Hard to fit it in i they're going to do sequels though... could work with minor changes in the last few lines of dialog from the narrator.

Basically you can play the first God of War without playing the other titles because it has an ending that doesn't make the sequels necessary really.

They don't mention it even on the site.
I've never heard of the studios name, even though they have offices both in taipei and vancouver.
I think they really meant that they've worked as a studio mainly working with outsourced mate...

Just because someone uses the same style doesn't make you eligible of credit.
I really dig the ghostbuster-related stuff he made, but his style is far from original.
Everyone influences and steals ideas from everyone when it comes to art, this is the truth. I might undestand that he feels shafted but if he hasn't actually worked on the game, the most he could out of this scenario is being noted in the special thanks/inspiration-section of the credits....
