Microsoft should expand and oversee their first parties rather more than buying in on third party-titles, imho. Probable not as safe as going for proven franchises.
But I like those Wooah!-moments I get when a new cool and innovative IP is revealed.
Besides, it stimulates the competion, which in turn means even more IP's for all the gamers out there.
Everyone is playing it safe this generation, even more so than in the past.
That is all.
Fyi, God of War 2 got a 7 from Edge as well.
Edge is one of the best gaming magazines imo, but they're stubbornly pretentious.
Good read. I like the fact that he actually seem to have some know-how of games in general and what people really want besides being a humble honcho.
SCEW really needs to collaborate more between the different divisions, I think, that's one of the reasons why there's been a lot going on with SCEA and SCEE compared too SCEJ. :)
Fantastic Trailer. I would've liked to see more content from the game itself in it though. :D
Well, My take on it is that XBL should get cheaper by the number of users that go up... until it eventually should be free of charge.
I mean, Microsoft earns a helluva lot of cash every year from XBL, how much of that actually goes to the team working on firmware and XBL updates and server maintenance? not much I guess, and the number of developers on that unit probably isn't that high.
If the income from XBL is higher then the total expenses and wages of all the workers on...
The ps3-version seems to have higher AA and the specular has been turned down a little compared to the 360-version. That's why the games might seem a little less poppy, but I think that's a good thing tbh.
I haven't played the Xbox360 version or the PS3 demo, only the PC-version. Which had way too high specular values all over the place.
That's what I figured out from the screenshots at least.
People screaming about lower res textures should know that it's highly prob...
That looks weird, especially since it's only one of the colour maps that lacks filtering or has some kind of shader error while the spec and normal seems to be at normal resolution rendered accurately.
Probably it's just a lowres dummy colormap that slipped through into the demo tbh.
I've played a lot of GX and it's a really nice game with awesome gameplay and cool tracks. I've always thought of it as more of a casual racer that's perfect for a preparty.
One of the best titles on the GC imo... never played the arcade version though :(
But I do prefer the Wipeout-series just because it has always been a topnotch game allover the spectrum, it's got style, brilliant gameplay mechanics with a lot of depth... except for maybe Fusion. :P
They should hav...
List needs more Homeworld, Windwaker and Seiken Densetsu 3.
Less Halo3, Fallout3 and Megaman9.
Cool, may work well if it's properly localized.
One thing I would like to see more of though is games based on mythologies from the old Persian and Arabic cultures. There's so much cool stuff like Djinns, Efreets and a whole plethora of lore from old Mesopotamia. :)
Aren't the price tags on games and consoles sky-high in Saudi Arabia?
Or is it like in South America where piracy is more like the norm?
That's bullshit. If there's no way to implement mod-support in the pc-version then I'm not touching F3.... ever.
Hehe, Yeah, me too.
I just have an old crappy computer+vlc hooked up to my tv instead, works like a charm.
Official MKV support would be appreciated though by many people I think.
Converting whole seasons of stuff into another format just to be able to watch it on a ps3 seems a bit too much of a hassle than it's actually worth, imo.
Not my cup of tea.
But the game looks really good for a wii game, GJ Capcom. :)
The only thing explained is that you can convert mkv into a functioning container/format on the ps3. How is that news really?
Actually, they're using the pure/pulse-engine from psp, it's just that it has been cranked up to eleven. :)
I really want to play this game ASAP!
Insomniac are easily one of the best studios out there imo, they create great gaming experiences in almost no time. And that's something which is really impressive nowadays when it takes much more time to create assets in a game.
I think ND is even better though, they don't make games as fast as insomniac but they've only developed great games since the Crash-days on psx, imo. And you have to give credit for Naughty Dog for their Jak&Daxter-engine which is the engine both the...
I've always thought of it as a really easy systemshock2, gameplay wise. :P
The art direction and atmosphere is absolutely fantastic in every regard though.
Wasn't there talk about a harder than hard mode on the ps3-version, or am I just delirious?
How about making an open world Banjo-game instead, like how ND did with the Jak & Daxter-series... especially like the first Jak & Daxter. :)
I would much rather play an open world platformer than a racer/platformer, imo.
Yeah, same for me... And I hate most racers.
Even though the first one did'nt have splitscreen, it was a blast to play imo.
Pacific Rift seems to add all the missing pieces, do want! :D
