yeah, well. It would be kinda stupid to just define the bullets with only a normal map since they actually are something that stick out. would probably look weird if they were just a part of the base mesh with a normal map, would use up a lot of unnecessary tries and still look like ass.
it's funny you should say all the objects are one object, in a way all the textures are rendered ontop of a giant quad stretched over the entire screen rendered in different passes, like you do i...
I'm amazed how much money and manpower got into the game, seriously, this is madness.
they could've made 10 different games in five years with 100 people working on each project with that kind of budget, and I'm not talking shovel-ware or downloadables here either. holy cow.
Yes please, loved the genesis ones. :D
Are you of speaking of imaginary xbox720 dev-kits?
kind hard, don't you think?
He's got balls.
I like balls.
Add splitscreen-multiplayer on top of the DLC and you have a much more complete game than it was when originally released, robust I'd even go as far to say.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had a ps3 of my own if splitscreen is included, had a lot of fun with Motorstorm at my old office. :)
You better belive it.
Might suprise everyone by being a God of war-caliber game, doubt it though:P
It's still the best console aroundto get, and it's dirt cheap, both for development and the consumers.
With todays situation with hyped up titles with bigger budgets than a golden jumbojet, it makes me happy to see some focus put on the old veteran. :)
Kinda hard to compare the genres though, they're so different.
(Singleplayer rpgs)
Western rpgs = less fleshed out characters, but often overall more freedom of choice regarding quests
J-rpgs = very linear, high sense of development of the characters, few sidequests, can have a more engaging storyline because of the linearity.
I'd say both genres are stagnating and have done so for some time now.
I mean, if a game like fallout, which was made in 199...
Fallout 1 and 2 are considered some of the best western rpgs ever made, if not thee best.
The games were made by Black Isle Studios, a division of former interplay.
Black Isle studios also worked on a lot of other really amazing titles like Icewind Dale 1+2, Baldur's Gate 1+2 and Planescape: Torment.
If you haven't played any of those games, do so.
I highly recommend Planescape: Torment and Fallout 1+2.
If you're going to disagree, go play fallout 1 and 2.
Then come back and elaborate on your thoughts, please.
First and foremost, the games visuals and the depth is going to be downgraded, a lot.
secondly, the only reason Bethesda made the game as an fps/tps is to kick fans of the franchise in the nuts and sell more games to the console-fps-demographic.
Now, I would'nt touch anything by Bethesda even witha 7 feet pole, but I would have given Fallout 3 a try if it was'nt going to be dumbed down for consoles.. even if I hate what they've done with the perspective and the fallout-uni...
It makes me a sad panda to see that so few people nowadays have actually played the original GTA and 2. :(
I would love to see GTA 1+2 as downloadables for xbla/psn, they're much more "arcady"
PC is the lead platform,
if it isn't, the game insta-fails.
Yeah, I'd much rather buy this bundle instead of the gta4/gt5:p-bundles. I've never cared for gta since it turned third-person, and Prologue is not my top priority atm.
Pretty please with sugar on top, give us Europeans MGS4+BC+80gb, Sony! :)
Yeah, especially the environments in Gow1+2, I love the baked lighting. The backdroppings are also amazing, looks like stylized matte paintings.
Overall I'd say FF XII and GoW2. For only using color/alpha it's f*cking insane. Hand painted 128x128 and 256x256 maps ftw!
They're waiting for MGS4
One word; Emulation.

Met some of the good people from Illuminate Labs some weeks ago at the pub, and they said they're using some kind of dynamic occlusion technique that goes by the normal map among other things. It's not completely accurate though, but it sure looks awesome nonetheless.
