What you call "gamers" I call the self-proclaimed 'hardcore', the type you listen to with a massive pinch of salt. Also, I would love to have the option of playing the latest blockbuster franchisees on my Wii U, but I imagine the less narrow minded would likewise like the opportunity to play the numerous Nintendo exclusives on their chosen hardware. Given the choice - and owning as I do a PS4 and Wii U - I pick Nintendo's gems any day.
I would hope not. Nintendo have always followed their own path, the reason they are still a breath of fresh air.
Dont be soft. This generation is just another in a long, long line of examples that Nintendo never lack fun, innovation and gameplay. It is Sony and Microsoft who we have playing things very safe and generic, sure, thats always going to play to the COD/GTA crowd but dont call it creative.
Titanfall is actually (arguably, easily) thee best first person shooter of this gen. I know, not exactly stiff competition, but still...
Final Fantasy XIII is no shock, the franchise has been in the doldrums for some time now. Murdered Soul Suspect was such a poor game, SO timid. Still, no other game was/is more disappointing than Watch Dogs. I'm not joking when I say I traded it in after less than a week...truly uninspired and drab.
I'd buy that for a dollar...
Rhythm Heaven Wii U is a given, surely, particularly after the brilliant but hugely unappreciated Rhythm Heaven (Wii) - I still own my copy. Like the Dreamcast - which I owned and treasured, such fond memories - it makes me feel for people who cant see the forest for the trees, so to speak. Sure, you hear people bleating endlessly now over Shenmue, Samba De Amigo, Power Stone, etc, etc, but where were these people at the time since the games sold like garbage...coveting their overrated PS2 I ...
Ubisoft, lol. I don't think Nintendo will be sweating it...
Make it so, please. Something to make up for the terrible Samba De Amigo (Wii) port, a Dreamcast classic. Besides, Nintendo is always king when sticking to its guns - exclusives. This is the reason I'm still with Nintendo 6 generations down the line.
Twilight Princess, the 3rd favourite Zelda game...I don't think so. First time in a long, long time it felt the franchise was treading water, thankfully Skyward Sword was next and really shook things up again. The reason Zelda continues to feel fresh and relevant, Nintendo do NOT listen to the self-proclaimed 'hardcore'.
Oh come on! Still, plenty of arguably much, much better exclusives available on the Wii U both now and upcoming that are not only not available on PS4 and Xbox One but PC also...fairs fair. I'll have to do with playing Smash Bros by the sounds of it instead of another Street Fighter IV - the 4th in a chain I believe.
"Somehow they can't figure out that the Wii U is a different console, but the same people know that Xbox One is the THIRD console". Ha, lovely point.
Yes, move away from the Wii image entirely...next bright idea, Apple need to move away from the "i" image entirely. The Wii sold in the millions and shook up the face of gaming, and now you Nintendo want to ignore this small matter!? Once again, its not the name which is the problem - if indeed a 'problem' exists, it is as always the narrow-minded sheep which follow PR and heavy, heavy advertising.
Those who ignore or confuse the Wii U, more fool them.
Seriously!? I believe you are just being contrary for the sake of it, sorry. Mario 64, SMG 1 & 2, SM3DW, now THESE are perfect examples of Mario 3D games - and videogames in general.
Give me a break with the remake/remastered treatment, besides - and I say this as a massive Nintendo/Mario nut, Sunshine was below par. Still better than 99.9% of other platformers but not nearly good enough by Nintendo's incredibly high standards. How's about a sequel for those so hung up on the Sunshine premise?
I love, love, love trolls, and this is the trolliest thing I have read in the last 10 minutes. It would be easier to argue the Wii U has the best set of exclusives currently available and arguably the best game this generation (thus far), SM3DW, but no, easier to jump on the bandwagon (bash Nintendo) and ignore that the best game on PS4 is a PS3 game. I cant comment on Xbox One as I dont own said console or have played any game on it...still, that doesnt stop millions commenting on the Wii U ...
WOW, looks like Bayonetta turned up to 11, so lush.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree. These match perfectly with the special edition Wii/Wii U remotes released only this year. My only complaint is in 2014 Nintendo are still releasing wired controllers where as I purchased the Wavebird way back for the Gamecube...surely that should be the blueprint.
Possibly the best reinvention of a franchise to date. I struggle to remember a game that wow'd me from the title screen to the end credits as much as when I purchased this at launch for the brilliant GameCube. I think I completed it roughly 5 times and I rarely replay games.
Fair do's, lol. Still, when I saw "Okami" mentioned I was more compelled to comment than normal... better?
Class game and I'm afraid becoming more and more unlikely the likes of which we will ever see again. Mass Effect 15 anybody?
The first game bombed didn't it? I think a sequel would not be the answer seeing Sony has a poor heritage whereas Nintendo's is rich - the reason Smash Bros is a sucssess and Sony's attempt to do a copy and paste failed. Most if not all of Sony's once great exclusives were sold/lost. The majority of their characters are flash in the pan...Sackboy anybody?
