Way to stand on the shoulders on giants...
If games, exclusives and experiences are lacking, ALWAYS revert back to sales. Are we saying games or consoles which don't break records via sales are poor because of that? If this is right, I or nobody else for that matter should want to be a part of this industry.
Too many memories - all/most of them incredible. Playing Mario for the first time via Super Mario World. It came bundled with the SNES I received for Xmas. From that point in I was a lifelong Mario/Nintendo 'fan boy'. Super Mario Kart came next...multi-player goodness. Seeing Mario 64 for the first time as I went into the store to purchase my N64, it was being demoed on a TV, to my delight. Playing it myself, the impressions still resonate today. Incredible!
After the...
This is a 'sale'? L.A Noire, £24.99, GTAV, £49.99, Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, £54.99!? I keep double checking to see if I have these prices (for example) correct...I have! Sony, Sony, Sony. You really have had a mediocre 2014, and if early 2015 is any indication, the entirety is going to feel the same. I feel at present I've been sold a dummy - football (soccer) expression. My PS4 is just sitting, gathering dust.
No, you really can't. Most popular 3rd party games are available on PC for cheaper AND perform better. None of the best Wii U games are available for PC.
Sorry, but of the games you use as examples, maybe 1 is anything other than solid...Tomb Raider. However, said game is another example of the 'power' of PS4 falling short. Another game I own (and enjoyed) via Steam on my modest PC, performing better than PS4 in tests - if that's your bag. I'm no graphic whore, but its like I say...Sony, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. If only Sony hadn't shouted from the rooftops how far more powerful its PS4 was than 'riv...
You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Sony's PS4 is proving propaganda and numbers are NOT translating into something tangible for those owners of said machine...such as myself (day 1 purchase).
Yes, Japan - but their taste in videogames are very different than GTA or COD. Houses in which semi-realistic violent videogames are the norm usually aren't great ideas for any adolescents, only leading to reinforced stereotypes. Let's face it, the majority of the best selling videogames are exactly good examples.
While The Sun is an absolute joke of a newspaper, the link between videogames and violence does exist - believe it or not. Each case judged on its own merits, but suggesting some violent videogames dont encourage or reinforce violent behaviour in some individuals is just naive. Vidoegames played to the level of a lot of the population is NOT a healthy pastime.
Anybody got a semi-decent PC? Forget a dedicated graphics card super PC. I own this game, my PC is VERY modest, shared graphics, and trust me, it runs at roughly 70fps (benchmark) and at 1080p. No need for a 'next gen' PS4...
Wonderful clickbait/troll 'article' right here. Won the so-called console war? Sure, saleswise. Games, exclusives, performance - on a 'next gen' front? Not a chance. Everything barring sales the PS4 has completely underwhelmed (thus far). Plenty(ish) time to turn things around but an early report would read - much try harder, C-.
Sorry, while you sure can name games, of the games you listed - I am perhaps interested in 2 or them. Good luck to you if these games float your boat, but for me they offer little in terms of what Nintendo offer in abundance. Sorry, but 3rd party support is proven - particularly this gen - to NOT be the Holy Grail.
I feel the same - generally. Exceptions have been made, but (usually) 'open worlds' equate to barren emptiness. I however have a sneaking suspicion X and Zelda U won't be games which fall into that category.
I'm glad its not just me who can look beyond the BS, numbers and propaganda. Show me a seriously great game available on PS4/XB1 and I'll show you two available (exclusively) on Wii U...and that's discounting the New 3Ds, which is just another gaming success.
Trial by TV. Mob Justice. The incident has passed, nobody was hurt or even offended - really. This kind of thing must happen every minute of everyday with adolescents playing videogames online, but because a off-duty police officer may have been involved...suddenly somebody wants somebody fired. Shameful.
Off duty! He wasn't a 'cop' while on Xbox Live. Get a grip everybody. A few heated words exchanged, some trolling, and that's it. Move on...
Propaganda, propaganda, propaganda. I'll wait to see what has actually been achieved post-release, thank you very much. If I had my wish...60fps/720p and a lot less generic than the good but sideward step of Uncharted 3.
Too late. The trolls, scalpers and general scumbags were too quick snapping them up. Expect them to appear on eBay soon for inflated sums...
So, basically the 'winners' were all (mostly) games which appealed to the self-proclaimed 'hardcore', graphic whores and chavs. Ironic really since the Wii U and 3DS focused on GAMES, and its the games which got overlooked by the majority. Best movie? Transformers. Best TV? X Factor. Best book? Fifty Shades of Grey.
You could argue the same about any long running franchise - sequel even. Fact remains, SM3DW, Mario Kart 8, Smash, 3 of the very, very best games this generation, perhaps even of the last 5 years.
