One of the finest JRPG's in recent memory, if not thee best. Personally, I'd still recommended playing it on Wii - given the option. The scale slightly better appreciated on a big screen TV.
Not as much as it appears. Games via PS4 are struggling - performance wise. Hardly unplayable, but under a microscope, side by side with other platforms. I bought a PS4 at launch. The only games I continue to own are TLOU and GTAV, while good/great - last gen games. At present my PS4 is being used more (much more) as a Blu Ray/catch-up box than an actual games machine. If it weren't for my WiiU, PC and New 3DS - I know, I'm greedy, I can honestly say I would have given up on videogame...
All the best deals available (again) for PS3, even Vita. Absolutely nothing for those who 'upgraded' to a PS4. Knack, on sale? That game should gave been offered 'free' by now to those who subscribe to PS Plus.
PS4 and XB1 - home of the 'mature' gamer, the Wii U being for kids, right?
I'm just curious - in your mind, WHY is the Wii U a "last gen console", where as (I suppose) both PS4 and XB1 are current gen consoles? Because - in my mind, the Wii U is running games in HD (720/1080p) and at 60fps, sometimes 1080p and 60fps combined, without any hiccups. My understanding is that neither 'rival' consoles are doing anything above and beyond that...
The last refuge of the PlayStation fan boy...sales.
Is this 'article' serious!? Nintendo and the Wii U has had a dozen games previous to this which could be argued as system sellers. SM3DW, Mario Kart 8, Nintendo Land, Smash, Bayonetta 2 (for example) are all for me exquisite examples of the genre and Game of This Gen contenders - thus far.
Just tells me how bad the PS4 library of games is when this game is already being billed as Sony's great white hope.
Okami. No More Heroes 1 or 2. Blast Corps. Cave Story. Outrun 2. Punch Out!! (for example).
Big time. Not in sales of said hardware, God forbid the chavs don't just lap it up, but certainty in terms of reputation. I'm sorry, but Bloodborne is too niche a game, the majority will barely scratch the surface of it, and with Uncharted 4 now delayed, suddenly a big gap has emerged. Yes, many good/very good multiplatform games will come and go, but (for me) its still 'killer' exclusives which are the heartbeat, and thus far, Sony is severely lacking.
Not very good, solid at best. Thing is, I pre-ordered Mario Party 10, and since receiving it and playing it I'm now trading it, no massive pain. A bit disappointing, but to be honest, I wasn't expecting a great deal - never being a huge fan of the series. As all Sony/Microsoft fan boys regarding Nintendo, you are focusing on the missteps rather than the dizzying highs. Trust me, my Wii U and New 3DS library of games has absolutely no filler, plentiful and brimming with quality.
Funny this, because when anybody i.e ME uses Metacritic as a sign of Nintendo's dominance, somebody is always quick to dismiss Metacritic as a sign of quality. Now Sony/PS4 has a good exclusive in its library every Sony 'fan boy' is quick to bring Metacritic into the equation.
I find nothing to be gotten out of these type of games. Each his/her own. I however unlike the majority of WiiU/Nintendo hating trolls am glad of variety, not just hating on a game for not being a particular genre or style. More variety in the industry is required, not less. For me? Thank heaves for Nintendo. Both the WiiU and New 3DS offer me the games I enjoy, the reason I began and continue (midly) with videogames.
Typical Sony 'fan boy' suffering from delusions of grandeur. With PS4 (of which I own) its always potential, future releases, NEVER the here and now, and the reason...Driveclub. Hardly a shining example of 8th gen games. Worse even. After the PS Plus u-turn and generic gameplay, its almost am example of everything wrong with this gen - Wii U barring.
So, both 360 and PS3 could run ANY of the choice Wii U games I mentioned, "easy"? Funny, because where as games such as SM3DW (for example) look as sublime as they do while running at a flawless 60fps, it appears even the uber-powered PS4 is struggling with this perfect balance - never mind the PS3. Fact is, the Wii U has more AAA games exclusively in its library than both PS4 and XB1 combined. I own a PS4 - bought at launch. I'm sorry, but Driveclub is hardly a 'must own...
Ori is available on both XB1 AND PC. I'm not counting it an exclusive in the strictest sense of the word. The Halo Collection is remarkable value for money, but no games featured a true 8th gen experience. Forza Horizon is good, if a bit dull - after a time. A list of top 5 EXCLUSIVE 8th gen games should really just be the Wii U's top 5 games, for example, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, SM3DW, Smash and Tropical Freeze. ALL strictly exclusive, ALL 8th gen titles i.e games simply not possi...
Certainly a strong threat to both PS4 and XB1, consoles of which multiplatform titles are the biggest pro. Absolute no threat to Nintendo, either Wii U or 3DS. Nintendo's (as always) biggest pro is its exclusives, games of which Steam can't touch - unlike PS4 or XB1.
Does "true" have to equal tank controls and poorly designed 'puzzles'? I hope you agree Resident Evil 4 is a TRUE Resident Evil games AND a much needed shot in the arm to a quickly becoming stale franchise. Doesn't hurt that its arguably one of the finest games of all time...
I'm sorry, but HOW are games running at HD (either 720p or 1080p) and 60fps (sometimes combined) "weak"? Tell me when either PS4 or XB1 are doing anything above and beyond this then we'll talk. Besides, Nintendo games have never pushed for semi-realistic games with all the bells and whistles that entails, so uber powered hardware would be overkill. Fact is, Mario Kart 8, SM3DW, Tropical Freeze and Smash (for example) all look, PERFORM and play brilliantly. What is "weak...
That's what you say. I see a lot of similarities. Nintendo and 'rival' consoles, near indistinguishable.
@vishmarx
I'm sorry you feel this way. I owned a PS1, 2 and 3 previous, each for their entirety, each I enjoyed very much. I have also - as well as Nintendo - owned many 'rival' consoles, many again I enjoyed. I don't just like to pigeonhole myself. Regarding the PS4 however - which I bought at launch. Numbers sold aside - I am NOT a shareholder, to date the games have been nothing more than serviceable, bog standard. Definitely NOT the behemoth with a killer ...
