What with just picking up MGSV and Mario Maker due in a few weeks, I simply cant justify this game. Not nearly polished enough - by all accounts - to make it a day 1 purchase. I will however in all likelihood pick it up for the PC should I see it for sale at a low enough price in the near future. Loved the movies, well, most of them.
It may have aged - pretty badly if I'm honest, but very few games have the impact and (perhaps more importantly) the legacy Goldeneye did/does. No histrionics, no pretensions, simply an incredible game built with pure unadulterated gameplay in mind. Classic.
Haters, the graphics are an obvious homage to the SNES/N64 prequels - for good or bad. Some will like, some will dislike. Me, I think the game looks great, nostalgic as well as fresh. Gameplay wise, yes, early signs haven't been hugely promising, BUT, I find it hard to believe a Starfox game developed by Platinum Games will fall short. Time will tell but I'm mighty excited...
Edit: Regarding the controls. If like me you played Splatoon you will know the Gamepads moti...
Boy are people missing what's going on here with this game. Think Banksys theme park...
Funny, I imagine lots saying the same when Bayonetta 2 was announced - "the wrong console". That it turned out to be as good as if not better (in my opinion) than Bayonetta was the fact of the matter, the gripers still griping...
Perhaps, and the PC version of Arkham Knight was a mess, yes, BUT, generally/most of the time the PC version of a multi-platform release both looks and (perhaps more importantly) runs far, far better. I'm just playing the odds is all...
Looks strong(ish). Current gen consoles remain the preferred method IF you don't own a decent PC, if you do - own a decent PC, this should be the superior (by far) method.
Yes please. Actually no. Any more Amiibo's and soon I'll be bankrupt, and require storage solutions.
The reason for the WiiU being console of this gen keeps growing and growing. Still won't stop it being sorely overlooked, the reason (I believe) being not enough 'mature' 3rd party fodder available. Sad really, it like people learned nothing with the Dreamcast...
"Her attire is explained in the game"...oh, that's OK then, right? Pathetic. " I don't know anybody who would feel so strongly about this"...well, the fact you don't doesn't mean many won't or shouldn't. The reason it isn't highlighted more is likely those playing/interested in said game are (generally) adolescents who consider this the norm in videogames.
I'm neither an agitator or impostor, rather somebody who has an opini...
The game itself - its portrayal of women...shocking! Games such as this feel very two dimensional while women are written so unrealistically/shabbily. Shame really, massive opportunity missed...
Another very desirable Amiibo. Damn you Nintendo, my wallet is taking a beating with these things.
A footballers/spoiled brats wet dream. Pass!
GTAV...exactly! Thats not to say the majority aren't going to enjoy and treasure this game (MGSV) - as with GTAV, but for me, I could never all in good conscience award GTAV a 'perfect' score. Yes, it was very good (in the beginning), but like all/most GTA games it soon becomes repetitive. This is not an accusation which looks like it can be levelled at MGSV (repetition), but its just an example of scores not reflecting each players experience.
Saying all this I...
I would love to see the day (soon) where all games were digital only. People acquire so much junk, a lot of it now (or soon) in bins and landfill...horrible. Take the decision out of the hands of the 'gamers' please, because fact of the matter is they wont be able to stop trying to fill the empty void in their lives with the latest shiny toy.
Even a Mario games (such as this) falling way below expectations is still better than 99.9% of 'platformers' even today. Nowhere near the best 2D Mario game but still a very, very good Mario games and an expectational 2D platformer.
I think its fair enough to point out numbers/sales relating to games/consoles, but DONT confuse them (sales) PLEASE with quality. The WiiU (for me) from day 1 has offered bags of enjoyment littered with some of the finest games of this gen, and a handful of some of the best of all time. The PS4 and XB1 are both equally good consoles for their target audience, lets just not jumble them in with the WiiU...it would be like comparing package holidays with trips to far more exotic and expensive co...
Can't wait for the definitely definitive edition...
Loving this trend for the 'reboot/remaster'.
Some sarcasm may be noted.
Good(ish) examples, but you missed out arguably the best of the bunch - by far...Cool Spot.
People say MGSV is open ended, no, THIS is open ended. I don't know why this 'game' isn't getting more fanfare. Surely this is a longtime Mario fans dream come true. I know its mine. I'm really, really, really enjoying MGSV at the moment, but once this lands...forget about it!
