Fair enough. For me, missing Mario Maker, Xenoblade, Yoshi's Woolly World and Fatal Frame would have been a big miss. Thats not including the numerous indie and/or Virtual Console games which have reeled me in. I'm playing Wave Race (N64) currently...plays JUST as you remember. Mmmmm, water physics.
Erm, it is? Funny, I have one here with a large and varied collection of games - both retail AND digital...NO filler. Care to tell me what about that is 'dead'?
God only knows why you got a disagree for that simple statement...
I gave you an agree - since I do (agree).
I'd say give the Wii U serious consideration. Even if you feel 2016 may not be a strong year for the Wii U - I beg to differ - there is the small matter of all those GAMES you may have missed since the Wii U launch. Them alone should safely take you into the next gen.
Soulless and sterile. Give me the N64 version any day - dated as it is (sadly).
Memories...
Almost (if not all) every Mario platformer. Sames goes for Metroid, Zelda, etc, etc. Nintendo, unrivalled.
Never played Until Dawn - can't comment. Bloodbourne is certainly a great game, but (for me) too hampered by a poor fps to consider it an all-time great.
A long running series I have no problem with, and with Nintendo its near unavoidable - having been in the business this long. No, its rather 6 monthly releases of already tried 'franchises' I loath.
Not one Nintendo game - neither 3DS nor WiiU? 'Journalism' at its worst.
Too bad we now live in a throwaway culture. Games like Mario Maker, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon and Xenoblade (for example) just keep on giving, but do the general public care...not a bit of it.
This industry is too overcrowded with chav fodder and 3rd party developers desperate to throw out another game in their long running franchise - usually at the expensive of it being broken and/or unchanged from its previous incarnation.
@DarkZane
Honestly? It's getting more and more difficult to learn when people are winding me up or trying desperately to be serious. Skyward Sword on the Gamecube with a 'traditional' controller? Did you actually play the damn game!?
I suppose with that logic you could argue Wii Sports Resort (again, Motion Plus) could have been released via a 'traditional' controller...
Thank you! Don't know why you have disagrees. It's like those disagreeing are saying they do want Nintendo to fall in line. It's like I've always bought Nintendo...I've never wanted other 'rival' developers to do things the way Nintendo do. Each his own, surely.
I disagree completely. What some people who fear change call 'gimmicks' others (such as myself) call innovation and thinking outside the box. Without the Wii we would not have had Skyward Sword. That alone is enough for me to keep wanting Nintendo to push the envelope.
Yes. The WiiU has given me little this gen barring great game after great game, a dozen or so stone-cold classics. Still, who cares about GAMES when both PS4/XB1 both sell more AND appease the chavs.
A much unappreciated Mario title. It sold well - I believe, but didn't get the recognition it deserves for 2 reasons, again, I believe...'only' being 2D and not being full HD. An accomplished Mario platformer.
I understand. This was me giving my opinion.
Don't worry, I won't. I understand these games push themselves - but to breaking point. Besides, I have played past Fallouts, so know what to expect - and not.
Hard to argue with the 5 worst. The 5 best, easy to argue with...
The Witcher 3 was an unpolished/unfinished mess - certainly on the PS4, in my experience. Undertale is brilliant, no doubt, but dubious as to whether it's THAT good. Mario Maker and/or Xenoblade easily deserve a placing.
Fast Racing Neo, yes, but what happened (had happened) to 90's Arcade Racer - if it ever existed?
@sk8ofmnd
M-rated games like Bayonetta 2? A game only available because of Nintendo. 3rd party games are rarely all that and mostly the want of adolescents and/or chavs - 'casuals' ironically. The majority of that "100 million fanbase" were those inclined to gimmicks and parents - the core still remain. Buy I digress...
You appear (like many) to want Nintendo to be all things to all people, I - and I understand I'm in the majority - DON&...
OMG! Just woke up to these rumours. I was/am buying the NX anyhow - no matter what - but throw using cartridges into the mix...YES YES YES.
I love and enjoy Nintendo best when they go out on a limb.
