Good taste!
Yes, I did mean the original Street Fighter. The way it moved, the way the punches and kicks connected, every fight was on a knife edge. All Street Fighters since are awesome, I just find with each passing incarnation its blending into 'generic fighter'.
Am I alone in thinking the original Street Fighter is still the best? A more tense and pure form of 1 on 1 Street Fighter - IMO.
I hear you, but steady on. ALBW's is barely a few years old. I think actually what is so great about Nintendo is it gives us NOT the sequels/games we want, but rather the ones we NEED. Who would have imagined a 'sequel' to ALTTP possible?
Just when everybody (barring me, I assure you) was negging on WW's art style during demo's, time has proven - if it needed - that Nintendo was once again bang on. Both Sony or Microsoft would have been happy to offer more...
Nintendo is still the home of the local multi-player games - IMO.
Love ALBW's art stlye - a homage to ALTTP while still feeling contemporary, AND the 3D effect lending itself superbly. An honourable mention goes to SS - silky smooth in motion and JUST the faintest touch of watercolour. SUPERB.
OR you could buy a Wii U and play its hardly "limited" library of games - I own roughly 20, NO filler whatsoever, Indie, Virtual Console AND ALL Wii games.
I absolutely love the argument that IF the NX is backward compatible it will be a plus. IF you didn't buy a Wii U and/or games, why would you then be interested in a NX due to its (possible) backwards compatibility? Priceless.
The Wii U is a solid console with a wide and interesting library of games - a dozen or so (IMO) stone-cold classics.
I can think of a few reasons...
Yeah, better look at those numbers, because - let's face it, when (like me) you suddenly find you are too old and/or don't have the time to indulge anymore, it will be who sold however many games/consoles which will stick in the memory, NOT the experience and fun which was had.
My favourite Zelda - either WW or ALTTP (probably). Most unappreciated Zelda - SS. MY least favourite Zelda - while stilling being a very good game in its own right - TP. As a series of games - both console AND handheld - absolutely astonishing quality and variety.
Everything points to yes - but I would have to say no. Simply because (for me) this comes too soon off the back of Transformers Devastation, both titles near identical replacing turtles for robots. Saying all this, Devastation rocked!
More is not (always) better. I prefer this so-called 'drip feed' nature in how Wii U games are dispersed, as in between girlfriend, dog, job, family, friends AND other hobbies/activities...its impossible (I find) to play a game (fully) every month. Too many people with - sorry for saying this - WAY too much time on their hands for playing videogames alone.
First, "just cartoons"? Both 3DS and/or Wii U offers a wide variety of games - both genres and styles. The whole 'cartoon' argument is hokum. Also, staple Nintendo IP's which you mention are FAR from trending - quite the opposite. Trending are the types of games parents buy their brats because other parents have bought friends of said brats.
You mean games such as GTA, COD and Fifa (for example) 'grow up'? Ironic really, since titles such as these - I'd wager - are coveted by adolescents up and down the land, whereas Nintendo owners tend to be more confident in buying, owning and playing what is good rather than what is just trending.
Between Wii U, 3DS AND Amiibo's, no, I don't see Nintendo leaving the industry any time soon...
Lack of games? I own both Wii U and PS4 - both bought at launch. My library of games on both reads as follows - retail only...Wii U, 15-20, PS4, 5. Now, I'm absolutely positive the PS4 has a lot more than 5 great games (exclusively), it just all boils down to taste...
I bought Wii U - as I did New 3DS, DSi, Wii, Gamecube, etc, etc, basically all major Nintendo hardware - because since the early days I've enjoyed my experiences on Nintendo hardware more than 'rival...
FFS! First, yes, each would look extra lush upped to 720p, but saying that, each still look very, very nice indeed - far from some eyesore. Second, the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combination is extremely organic to operate, not an issue in sight unless you create one.
SMG doesn't sit at the very top of Gamerankings All Time Best for no reason. Arguably the best videogame ever created - if if SMG2 did (again, arguably) better it. SMG scores slightly better however for coming first.
For Nintendo to sell 'PS4 well' would take a seismic shift - since popular trends have shifted from the 8/16bit era, sadly. I'd rather Nintendo (again) just break even on their newest home console than pander to what the PS4/XB1 crowd demand. The Wii U and Gamecube are/were personal favourites of mine, solid hardware with an interesting and varied library of games. Fifa, COD and - insert generic third person shooter here - may be sales gold, but none of which are my cup of tea. <...
