Love it! Love it when Nintendo sans hype and a MASSIVE marketing budget continue to carve ESSENTIAL/recommend games relatively under the radar. The reviews for this game are the bomb. Thank you Nintendo for standing strong and being a breath of fresh air.
Many great 'Kart racers' have existed - and continue to exist - around the release of each MK incarnation, but the fact of the matter is MK was/is the pinnacle of the sub-genre. MK8 is the benchmark - by a country mile - and SMK for those who want a more barebones experience, while still playing an absolute blinder. Where as challengers come and go, playing MK8 today only underlines why Nintendo's team remain cream of the crop.
Since you've clearly played enough of it to give your verdict "they can keep this game", care to list your pros and cons of it based on your time spent?
Fair enough you believe WW to be your least favourite 3D Zelda, but I could not agree LESS with how you describe it. An absolute masterclass via Nintendo and a near masterpiece...99% out of 100%.
Like I said, even TP - which IMO is the worst 3D Zelda - is a game I'm currently playing via my Wii U and thoroughly enjoying. My point being no such thing as a BAD - or even average - Zelda, just personal favourites.
This is Nintendo doing Zelda. Even the worst 3D Zelda thus far (IMO) Twilight Princess is still better than 99.9% of Action/Adventure games currently available AND still a near classic.
To those who say this looks similar to a Pixar movie...rubbish. It looks like a remastered PS3 R&C game. Has anybody played SM3DW (for example)? THIS is a game which looks, moves and runs like a 'next gen' game more akin Pixar movie or similar. Still, definitely getting it - R&C.
It shouldn't have been missed at RRP, to be fair. As good as any title released this gen - thus far.
Not the best 3D Zelda, definitely the least essential - even if I am playing through it at the moment and enjoying my time spent. Currently in the Water Temple equivalent *shudder*
Some highlights here, but as with any Mario level, it feels a sin to leave any out. Each Mario barring Sunshine is for me a bona fide classic.
Seriously, how many times over the years/decades must Nintendo need to justify themselves? Always questioned and critiqued, even with a history of delivering bold, innovative, polished and AAA exclusives. This is one developer with nothing left to prove to anybody - barring itself.
Please, no more Amiibo. I'm broke.
I'm currently in limbo in the Water Temple, again. I've made a promise to myself I'm going to see it through this time...
Lovely. Absolutely lovely. Its incredible the amount of people who still doubt Nintendo, then when it counts...BANG. A polished, entertaining, dynamic and complete game arrives.
I own a PS4 - bought at launch. Yes, it only was 2 games on U4, but that was enough for me. Played Galak-Z straight after - 'free' on PS+...great, great game. My problem with my PS4 is that the only highly rated exclusive (thus far) is Bloodbourne, and while I own it (digitally) - I don't knock ANY game I haven't played properly myself, its just not my bag. R&C should change things...
I almost enjoyed U1, really enjoyed U2 - both single AND multi-player, and enjoyed U3. I booted up U4 multi-player, played for around 10-20 minutes, switched it off...jaded.
I'll eat my hat if the NX (whatever the hell it is) is backwards compatible with the Wii U. Those who will be disappointed by this I would ask - why didnt you buy a Wii U and support (and enjoy, immensely) any of its AAA essential exclusives?
So, could Nintendo - the king of the dedicated gaming handheld - survive if it released a successor to the incredibly popular 3DS? Let me think...
YES.
THIS.GAME.ROCKS.
Disagree. I've been buying Nintendo since being bought a SNES for Xmas past. That I got the bug and since have bought and enjoyed numerous Nintendo systems/games (exclusive) is simply a fact for me. The cherry being Nintendo keeps me constantly guessing and/or surprised - almost always pleasantly.
