It always comes down to one thing with me...exclusives - that and fun, polish and entertainment. Much like the Wii U the 3DS/New 3DS possesses a huge library of genuinely essential exclusives. It appears people seem to focus on the 'negative' with Nintendo - even making up problems where problems dont exist...'specs' anybody? You can bandy about the term 'specs' al day long, but if what im playing blows me away visually AND runs buttery smooth, where is the big proble...
Again, agreed. Thing is, the 'shit storm' is all air and noise - signifying nothing. Capcom wont pay the slightest interest as long as they make a profit, and while people are happy to pay full price for threadbare games...Capcom is laughing. It really, really is the time people started speaking up by not buying these games instead of the usual buying then bitching. I mean, its not like the choice of games currently available isn't mind-boggling.
Agreed. As always with Nintendo its about the GAMES. Hardware which varies between serviceable to good/great, but opinions on that should be negligible if Nintendo - which they do - keep defying expectations and releasing games which are the pinnacle of the genre/s. Speaking for myself, my library of games between Wii U and New 3DS, both retail, Indie AND Virtual Console...I find it hard to judge Nintendo this gen other than a resounding success.
I agree - agree added. It appears you have 2 disagrees (thus far). Obviously 2 people who support rushed, unfinished and barebone games. Thing is, nobody is debating the crux of the game - the 1 on 1 fighting - is solid as ever a SF since it's inception, but how can anybody disagree the package itself is threadbare?
It's going to take a LOT more than a scabby patch and/or character addition to bring this game up to speed. The usual polished SF combat is not going to be enough this time to tempt me into buying. Anyhow, I'm currently involved deeply in Pokémon Tournament and have the option of playing SFIV via my PC if I choose. Try again Capcom...
Agreed. LOL at "forced". I bought the 1st edition 3DS at launch, traded it less than a year later. I just couldn't get on with the 3D and/or games available at the time - the majority of them. I bought the New 3DS at launch. The 3D has been solid and games I've bought since ALL been great - I'm amassing quite the library. All my CHOICE.
Same could be said regarding my purchase of a PS4, again at launch. The games were very, very poor for a while barring ...
Harder, faster, stronger. The stable 3D via head tracking is a massive strength.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. My point being 'specs' alone don't guarantee the success - sales wise - of a console. Look at the Wii for more proof if required. I don't understand, why can't the COD, GTA, Uncharted and Halo lovers just get on with enjoying said games and let's fans of Nintendo (such as myself) carry on enjoying the experiences only Nintendo afford...
I don't get it. The chavs/plebs who own either PS4 and/or XB1 have little to no interest in Nintendo's staple IP's, so I wouldn't see Zelda launching for the Wii U making little difference in terms of sales. Let the masses lap up COD, GTA, etc, etc. Let those interested in anything other and favourite Nintendo franchises have that ourselves.
Lastly - important point, the 'gimmick' controller and 'underpowered' trolling is bogus. The Gamecube : ...
What are these 'missing' games of which you speak? I reckon I could argue whatever you could argue is missing on the Wii U I could argue vice versa.
I'm only just getting into TP:HD - albeit having owned it originally for my Gamecube and Wii respectively - just collected the Master Sword. Also I'm just picking up the 'basics' of Pokemon Tournament, a wonderfully polished and deep fighter. Oh, and I just downloaded Lylat Wars via the Virtual Console last night. So, by the time Star Fox Zero arrives I'll still probably barely have scratched the surface of Pokemon Tournament but be (hopefully) further into completing TP:H...
Star Fox Zero and R&C releasing on the same day in April!? I feel a holiday from work coming on...
I'm sorry, but I'm struggling to keep up with the library of games I've amassed for my Wii U - that's not including Virtual Console and Indie into the mix. I also bought a PS4 at launch, and while some good/great games are available, my half a dozen games (retail) I own for it - the majority last gen 'remasters' and the rest 3rd party also available on either XB1 and/or PC. I could argue Bloodbourne is the only really 'essential' title for the PS4 thus far.
Rubbish! Absolute tosh!
I'm not against a more 'graphically enhanced' console, but if you think that is the answer to a problem, take a look at the previous before last gen...
The Gamecube. A console easily on equal footing (if not a lot more) in terms of specs, an exceptional trio of launch games AND a brilliant 'traditional' controller...still it didn't sell massively.
Let Sony and Microsoft cater to the chavs and/or...
@SilverClock
I'm sorry, but I don't think any serious fan of Nintendo would argue Sunshine was the worst - while still being good(ish) - 3D Mario thus far. Also, what I like about Nintendo is regarding its sequel policy, never - like so many 'rival' consoles - giving us the sequel we want but rather need. Any other developer would have given us a straight sequel to Ocarina, but no, we got Majoras Mask.
Again, any other developer would have rid...
I want to once and for all address this 'gimmick' hocus. The Gamepad - much like the Wii Remote - is only a gimmick if used in a gimmicky way, fact. Also, if it is used in a gimmicky way but it works and is fun, whats the problem? Now to address the whole 'underpowered' argument...
The Gamecube launched as arguably - definitively in my opinion - the best specs, launch line up AND 'traditional' controller of its gen, but both 'rival' consoles st...
I simply can't understand these comments. People are excited at the prospect of playing Nintendo games via a non-Nintendo console? Why not instead BUY a Wii U (for example) for far less than either PS4 or XB1 and you can play them today.
I could not agree more. For those (like myself) who enjoy the library of Nintendo exclusives, buy Nintendo hardware. Those who don't, don't. Simple. I can imagine no scenario in which I'm playing Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc, etc via a Sony or Microsoft console, nor would I want to.
I notice its always Wii U games which people appear desperate to 'port'...no love for those essential XB1/PS4 exclusives? Figures.
Here we go. Its the "least selling" major Nintendo handheld NOT because of quality but because the introduction of smartphones and/or a changing landscape in terms of handheld gaming, possibly? I wouldnt mind if you were a shareholder, but its like people always run to sales to signify something. I could list a bunch of terrible, terrible movies which broke box office records...must mean these were good movies after all, right?
