Actually Mattrick, keep it up... I want to see Bungie's matchmaking system in Resistance 2 and Killzone 2... ;-)

"Not to mention this generation is only a stepping stone for MS, all they're doing is establihing thier brand and getting every major franchise on their console, because next gen Sony wont have GOW,Grand turismo (rumoured to be last in series) or MGS and will lack any real system sellers while MS can continue with thier fables, halo and gears"

Back when the original XBox ended up in last place, I would whole-heartedly agree with you.

If Microsoft is truly ...

Did anyone else notice that Microsoft has been letting first-party developers go independent (Bungie, BioWare, Bizarre, etc.), and now they pull off making FF XIII cross-platform...

It seems like they're gunning after any 3'rd party PS3 exclusive and getting them to go cross-platform, while their list of heavy-hitter first-party development teams is dwindling... Not good...

The 360's advantage on cross-platform games has dwindled down to near zilch as developers...

"@ CrazzyMan - please stop embarrassing yourself. Do you HONESTLY believe the PS3 is the eqivulent of an 8 core Intel Processor and a 9800GTX PC ?"

By the time you factor in the overhead from a general-purpose OS and services running in the background, I would tend to agree with CrazzyMan. You're talking about the difference between a machine with an OS dedicated to gaming (translation: REALLY optimized with a very small CPU/Memory footprint when running games), and a ...

Yep... I have mine connected via HDMI, and I have watched a good few movies up-scaled on it.

How this was approved as news is WAY beyond me...

Let's face it, other than the shock and awe of the Final Fantasy announcement, Microsoft showed us that they're COMPLETELY ripping off the Wii (Newton, Avatars), showed their competition to Blu-Ray (NetFlix on XBL), and gave release dates for games we already knew were in the pipes... and let's not forget the announcement of game installs... (optional for now...)

I can't wait to see how E3 plays out this year. I'm 100% positive that the Final Fantasy XIII announcement will not ...

Would be if the countdown on bungie.net was for a new IP, exclusive for the PS3... ;-)

Amen to that. Microsoft pulled off a big "shock and awe" campaign with the FF XIII announcement, but when you take a look at the specifics, it was obviously a purely financial move on Square Enix's part.

Square Enix is just ensuring that they can maximize the investment they made in developing FF XIII. It is NOT coming out for the 360 in Japan (install base is too low), and it is coming out for both the PS3 and 360 in North America and Europe (Where the 360 has a stro...

If the PS3 is a floater, then the 360 (with all of its hardware problems and overpriced accessories) is a sinker. Getting out-sold by both of its competitors so far this year...

Let's face it, when all of the big name electronics stores are trying to ram extended warranties down our throats on everything EXCEPT the 360, that should tell ya something... ;-)

But then again, that's just MY opinion...

Absolutely amazing... Hands-down FF VII was my favorite as far as the story line goes.

Seriously though... Sony was helping to fund FF XIII and all they got was Japanese exclusivity?

"You suppose Konami gave Sony those copies of Metal Gear for the 80 gig bundles for free? Sony still pays for exclusives, they just don't tell you."

What?? So somehow Sony purchasing copies of a 3'rd party game to include with a hardware bundle is the same as throwing wads of cash to a 3'rd party developer for system exclusivity (or lack thereof)?

Damn give me some of what you're smoking... ;-)

I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see FF Versus XIII go multi-platform as well...

Let's not forget that Sony has a LOT more in-house development teams than Microsoft does... You're more than likely going to see far more exclusives out of Sony than Microsoft.

It will be interesting to see how this sells on the 360...

Both Mistwalker RPG's on the 360 did not sell that well..

What I don't understand is the number of people in this thread talking about getting rid of their PS3 after SquareSoft dropped this bombshell...

It's still coming out on the PS3, people...

Not to mention that Sony has FAR more 1'st party developer studios than Microsoft, and will end up having more system exclusive titles this generation... Not to mention that exclusives are the only way you're going to see your system at its full potential (for that moment in time)...

This is kinda similar to the setup that the indoor shooting range near my parent's place has. They have a couple of the pistol lanes setup with a pretty cool simulator. It works kind of like the old Mad Dog McCree arcade game where it uses full motion video along with sensors to tell where you shot... Only you use live ammo... ;-)

I'm not sure how they have the screen setup for this, but it is INCREDIBLY fun. The range put it in for Police training, but it is available to th...

I went ahead and installed 2.4 as soon as I saw it was available, but I'm running into some small but annoying a hell issues with it.

First off, I can't play Metal Gear Online for some reason... The single player campaign of MGS4 works fine, but every time I try to launch MGO my PS3 will just sit there at a black screen. I can bring up the in-game XMB or the traditional PS button menu, but when I try to quit MGO, my PS3 will hard-lock... I have to hit the power switch in the b...

Agreed. As Macs become more common, more viruses and trojan horses will come out for it.

The main reason for Macs being "safer" than Windows PC's was obscurity. Virus and trojan horse authors are going to go after the biggest target, which is currently Windows. But with Macs making a comeback, they won't stay obscure for long.

Not necessarily true... Anyone that has used a Windows based PC for any length of time knows that certain hardware does not play nicely with other hardware... And how sometimes drivers can really screw things up...

So is he saying that he's too smart for BSD UNIX (the core of Mac OS X), or too smart for the Aqua UI? He talks about how he likes to customize and tweak Windows like it's not possible on OS X... Apparently he knows next to nothing about UNIX...

Personally, I would take Mac OS X (especially 10.5) o...
