That's easily the most fantastic idea I have heard for a trophy/accomplishment I have heard in a long time... :-)

While I'm pretty sure that Sony will not re-take the #1 spot this generation, I'm damn sure Microsoft will come in 3'rd...

1. Lack of first party developer teams = more cross-platform games (that don't take full advantage of the hardware)

2. DVD9 space limitations becoming an issue that compression can only do so much for...

3. Terrible handling of the RROD fiasco leading to a tarnished product image.

4. Most of their heavy-hitter titles...

Name one reigon-free 360 game...

The PS3 is the only reigon-free gaming system on the market. Both the 360 and Wii are reigon locked.

Dude... if you can find a way to afford an HDTV, DOOOO-EEEEET...

Once you have seen the sexiness of PS3 games in HD (especially MGS4 in all of its 1080p glory), you'll never look back.

Besides, you get a nice advantage in FPS'es when playing on an HDTV. You can pick off enemies/opponents from way further out than you can on a SDTV.

1. Allow local use of the PS3 while PSP clients are connected using remote play.

2. Home to PSP connectivity. Allow users that have a PS3 and PSP use their physical PSP the same way the virtual PSP works.

And this one is not really firmware related, but...

3. More PS3 games utilizing the PSP if available.

Sony has the advantage of having a powerful handheld, and home console combination. Playing Lair over Remote Play got me thi...

MGS4 is one of those rare games where during the wait for the game to release, I didn't mind the delays at all. It was one of those games that I would rather see pulled off perfect instead of having it sooner.

While MGS4 may not be everyone's cup of tea, I can honestly say that any PS3 owner needs to at least rent this game.

Off topic: Personally, I would LOVE to see Konami/Kojima re-make MGS 1, 2, & 3 in the MGS4 engine. Whether through DLC, or disc-based rel...

I have yet to understand why so many people think that the Halo series is so great.

I have played through all three of the games, and I do have to agree that the original Halo provided the best single player campaign by a long shot.

The only real thing that I can say for Halo 2 & 3 is that Bungie has the best online matchmaking system in the industry. Other than that, I can't think of anything else to say... The single player campaigns just didn't stack up to t...

As much as I have ragged on my 360-only owning buddies for being achievement whores, I can say that I have played Uncharted a good three times through since the trophy patch was released. (I have all but three of the Uncharted trophies now)

I can't say that I won't buy a game that doesn't have trophy support, but I can say that I have been enjoying hunting for trophies.

More developers need to start supporting this feature on the PS3. It's just ridiculous for new P...

The cable operators are imposing/looking to impose bandwidth caps to protect their (overpriced, IMO) Cable TV services specifically from digital distribution.

When you look at it this way... Cable operators can either risk losing their most profitable markets (SD and HD programming) by leaving customer cable modem accounts un-capped, or they can cap those accounts and bill the hell out of customers transferring a LOT of bandwidth in a month.

None of the companies of...

Well, for legitimate users... I would say that there's not much of an advantage...

But considering that Microsoft is using the DVD disc to validate that you have the game, I'm willing to bet that it will not take long for a DVD drive custom firmware to fake out the validation process...

If so, then I may not sell my 360 after all... ;-)

"The only problem there is you have to use another PS3 to transfer the stuff to your new harddrive."

Alllllllrightythen... I've done hard-drive swaps on multiple PS3's now (60GB, two 80GB's, and quite a few 40GB's), and I have never used another PS3 to transfer the data...

I have a good 'ol USB hard drive (formatted in FAT32) that works wonders. Honestly, you can use any USB storage device that has the capacity to hold the amount of data on your PS3 hard ...

Agreed... The only thing that trading in games/systems is good for is when you're absolutely down on your luck and need cash right then and there...

Otherwise, eBay (or Craig's List here in the states) is the way to go by a longshot...

EB Games / GameStop need to be shown that their greedy business practices will not be tolerated. The sheer amount of money they make on used games is sickening. They rip off their customers on their low trade-in prices, only to goug...

"I think we'll see both Sony and Microsoft back off the high cost of producing the machines a bit. They're going to want to make profits, but they need to be aware that there's large marketplace out there for people who can produce a better Wii... and for under $300."

While I do hope that the Wii phenomenon does lead to lower-cost consoles next time around (yes, I was one of the people that got a PS3 at $599.99), I also really hope that this does not lead to Sony and Mi...

Considering that you're probably used to bandwidth caps, etc. in the UK, it doesn't sound like that big of a deal to you.

But if you had the chance to head off the caps before they became the norm, wouldn't you at least try?

The thing that these cable operators are trying to accomplish is safeguarding their video services. Now that HD video streaming is starting to catch on, they see this as a threat to their grossly over-priced cable TV service.

Comcas...

While Sony doesn't currently need to drop the price, I'm willing to bet that if they take a beating on the NPD numbers due to this price drop they will drop their price as well.

Let's not forget that the 40GB PS3's were the ones to get the 65nm Cell CPU's, which not only marked a price-cut on the PS3, but also Sony breaking even on the console.

Back in February, IBM started ramping up their 45nm Cell production:
