Seriously... They get all of the sweet electronic gadgets before we do, yet they go ga-ga over a souped up Game Cube with motion controls for a home console, and judging from the DS sales in Japan, I'm almost convinced that every Japanese person has at least two DS'es...

Not to mention they get the advantage of lower prices on Sony, Hitachi, Pioneer, and NEC HDTV's due to not having to ship nearly as far, and no import tariffs.

You'd think that HDTV market penetrati...

Here's to hoping for a PS3 price drop right before (or the same time as) the Killzone 2 launch.

I understand that Sony needs another Christmas at the current prices to prop up their profits... But the massacre that a $100 price drop would be right before Killzone 2 releases? Oh the PWNAGE... ;-)

"The hdds are expenisve and I do think it should be cheaper but other than that the prices are fine."

You can't seriously tell me that $100 for a WiFi adapter, and $60 for a wireless headset is fine...

All of Microsoft's accessories for the 360 are overpriced. The one that's closest to reasonable is the "play and charge" kit, but even that needs at least a $5 price drop to be "fine".

Anyhow... Looks like this blog account ...

Granted, all consoles have their issues as do all electronics... But name another major product from a major name that had as high of a failure rate as the XBox 360...

The launch Playstation 2's with the laser issues were high-profile, but still within 3% failure rate. The XBox 360's failure rate was bad enough that GameStop stopped selling extended warranties on it (and we all know how much GameStop LOVES to hawk extended warranties on everything).

Microsoft will ...

"Untap potential of PS3 (aren't there better technology than PS3 available already)...how can it last 10 years? Technology is a bit%^%^ now a day. It changes so quickly. Asking PS3 to last 10 years is probably a little too much."

Once again.... Sony will release another console before the 10 year lifespan of the PS3 is up. Four to five years from now the PS3 will be in the same position that the PS2 is in currently. There will be a PS4 for the high-end, with the PS3 ...

You seem to think that running through a game quickly cheapens the experience, while others (like myself) do not feel the same way.

I ran through MGS4 in a weekend (mind you, two 12hr gaming sessions...), and had GTA4 beat in five days. I did not feel that this cheapened the experience on either one of these titles. With MGS4, I just couldn't put the controller down!! ;-)

If you feel like gaming in small doses is the best way (how else can you explain not having f...

Can't say I haven't been guilty of this from time to time... ;-)

At least I own up to being a PS3 fanboy...

ALL YOUR GAMES ARE BELONG TO PS3!!! Muhuhahahaha.... :-)

What, didn't Microsoft see the sales they were expecting after the first price drop? Are they desperate to "win" this Christmas season, or are the stockholders giving them an ultimatum? Who knows...

I'm just glad I sold my 360 when I did... I already took one hell of a loss on it, it would SUCK to take even more of a loss after the price cut.

Although it's good for gamers that the entry price for this generation just came down again, and you don't have t...

Personally, the only games I like the XBox/360 controller for are racing games and Tiger Woods. I guess I just got used to the Playstation controller for FPS'es (clocked WAAAY too much time into CoD4 on PSN =).

For some reason, I can do a lot better with the DualShock 3 in CoD4 than I can with the 360 controller. Yeah, I'm a freak like that... ;-)

I'm SO glad to see Wii Music drop out of the top 10 sales list for Japan. I hope Miyamoto learns his lesson with that crap. ;-)

Personally, I would love to see Bungie start licensing out their matchmaking system to other developers.

One thing I can definitely say is that Bungie has the #1 matchmaking setup in the industry so far. Infinity Ward came close with CoD4's matchmaking system, but it still doesn't hold a candle to Halo 2/3's matchmaking system.

Although a new Bungie IP on the PS3 would be nice... :-)

That Konami ID thing was just flat out ridiculous. MGO is the ONLY game on PSN that requires a separate login.

I hope that Konami learns a lesson from the backlash on the whole Konami ID issue and just uses PSN like everyone else next time around.

Seriously, the only GameStop I have gone to that wasn't staffed by 360 fanboys was the one in Devon, PA. Believe it or not most of the workers were PS3 fans. :-)

Anywho, back on topic... Konami deserves to make a lot of money on this game, Kojima cranked out yet another masterpiece. If you have a PS3, you need to at least rent this game, if not buy it (and join the Metal Gear Online community :-)

It feels good to see that Konami is definitely going to make some m...

If the NeoGeo MVS had managed to launch at a reasonable price, with games priced the same as the competition, the 16 bit wars may have had a different outcome. If Sony had launched the PS3 with the games costing $120 each, and only Sony first-party games, it would be dead by now (kinda like the NeoGeo MVS and its short shelf life).

I hear ya on Sony not living up to the insane hype they were spewing at launch, and I'm SOOOO glad they have stopped putting their foot in their mout...

The 40GB PS3 is obsolete due to hard drive installs? I didn't know that the hard drive is not upgradeable in the 40GB models... Wait, it is? </sarcasm>

I know that the PS3 haters love to say that you're constantly running out of hard drive space on the PS3 due to game installs... But you can CHEAPLY increase your storage by installing a new hard drive.

If you go on NewEgg.com, you can get a Seagate Momentus 200GB 7200rpm laptop hard drive for $79.99 + shippi...

"Funny thing is, every game on the NEO GEO looked way better graphicly than either of the Megadrive or the SNES equivalent."

Not to mention the games for the Neo Geo MVS were in excess of $100 each, with VERY limited 3'rd party support.

Your comparison = epic fail.

I beg to differ on that one. Resident Evil 4 on the Wii controlled wonderfully with the Wiimote and nunchuck, even though it did look like crap on my HDTV... :-(

Also, Super Mario Galaxy controlled just fine, and Metroid Prime: Corruption.

When Nintendo first unveiled the Wiimote, I was pretty pumped as far as the options it opened up (then severely disappointed when I saw the tech specs... sub-1Ghz CPU and less than 128MB of RAM putting a damper on what was possi...

The problem that we all have with your article is that it is nothing more than FUD against Blu-Ray.

The only legit gripe you have against Blu-Ray is the cost of the movies. But to say that either upscaled DVD or "HD" digital distribution (HD in quotes due to the unreal amount of compression required to make it even feasible) is a serious threat to Blu-Ray is flat-out wishful thinking.

Yes, the economic slowdown has affected people's purchasing power. But ...
