Normally when I make purchase; I research, buy, own and enjoy with confidence in my decision. X1X has me thinking however. I wonder what's going to happen when I finish Titanfall 2 (the 2nd time, 1st on PS4 Pro), Gears in Performance mode 60fps (PC ran this last year, performed better) and Halo 5. Forza Horizon 3 won't be patched till Jan 15th 2018, Forza 7 is a giant tech demo and cup head was fun and done. Now what? There are nice differences in performance which I'm seeing and ...
Yes, the pro would be awesome on 1080p just like the Xbox One X. Super sampling is incredible and 60fps for 1080p titles is icing.
"Anyone hating on the supersampling has no idea what they are talking about" Looks the same as 4K past 8ft, it's like high quality anti-aliasing and completely cleans up the image.
I'll take supersampling and/or performance mode 60fps any day over 30fps 4K. From 10ft, 4k vs down sampled 1080p with zero aliasing is indistinguishable. Minor at best and any bump in fps more than makes up for it.
Worried? No. PS4/Pro has a wild looking 2018 with at least 5 great exclusives coming our way and I have a nice backlog of exclusives to finish. Though my time with X1X has been a slow burn, support is improving quickly and the differences are becoming clear. The idea of having 6tflops of gaming power in the living room is also starting to grow on me. Considering the patched results of games like Titanfall, Halo, Gears and Wolfenstein II, etc. the limited number of exclusives MS has is startin...
RIP - Visceral Games ;-(
The X1X always downloads the 4K assets even if you have a 1080p TV/connection. The options to download "4K content" is exclusive to Xbox One S so people can prepare for an easier upgrade to the X1X. I ordered a 2.5" USB enclosure for 8 bucks to use a 1tb drive I have lying around. 2tb+ for this new system is a must.
The majority of 1080p owners out there, likely around 65-70% compared to 4K owners, would more appreciate 1080p 60fps mode for all games going forward. If they're going to do mid generational upgrades, while 4K market is growing it should be mandatory so everyone benefits. It would sell more systems.
Bungie is smoke and mirrors.
Let us not forget, Final Fantasy VII Remake https://www.youtube.com/wat... and Death Stranding, that's going to be some Hideo K. with a shiny new studio insanity.
2 years bud, PS4 & Pro have a lot of life in them yet. Holiday season 2019.
It's a good system for 1440p-4K couch gaming with most existing titles still running at 30fps to achieve those resolutions. Still, a nice system for $499 if you have been waiting to upgrade. For those willing to run a few wires and upgrade their PC while also building their Xbox library via play anywhere titles, the future is now at 60fps at any resolution your system is designed to perform at. PS4 Pro stands alone with their excellent exclusives available now and number of AAA titles to ...
It's fun game to play during a winter snowstorm in NY. PS4 Pro patch was also a nice bump.
Agreed on Timing, price little high for what it does with limited exclusives to really push those pixels. Never expected native 4K on all games, checkerboard does a great job btw and any reasonable distance to a large TV say 8-12 feet you'd never notice it compared to native 4K. I'm more concerned with all games having a 1080p 60fps mode because most people don't own 4K panels yet and many like myself prefer fluid game play. I honestly think next holiday season will be the sweet s...
Agree with everything you said. If you have a good PC setup, those games you mentioned are just about all available for windows MS play anywhere. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/... You can build your library and play on whichever system is better for the time being.
Been testing the system and comparing games on X1X to my I7 GTX 970 setup on the same 65" 1080p panel. It's a slick, quiet (and heavy) box but I'm not super impressed. Maybe if you're coming up from a base Xbox one or PS4, it would impress especially if you don't care much about the difference between 30fps and 60fps gaming. We're seeing some titles run 1080p 60fps, which is nice, even a few 4K 60fps but this box is going to need some time for devs to work on good pat...
Is there a performance mode available on PS4 Pro, has it been patched or does it run at a capped 30fps?
Let's be clear, we're talking Xbox Family exclusives, not just Xbox One X exclusives, which there will not be, just like Pro. MS in general needs exclusives.
As long as it hits 60FPS 1080p with Ultra equivalent settings, I'm sold. Gears 4, Evil Within 2 (unlocked FPS waiting for test), Tomb Raider, Elite Dangerous are confirmed. I can only hope most if not all games have this feature. More developers seems to be offering it.
I wonder what the majority prefers. 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps
Great, now I have to wait 6 months instead of 4 to pick up titles at $18-$25. My backlog is just full of AAA games for dirt. Wait it out and let everyone else fight, you'll get a better game for a much better price with a little patience.
