@vickers: Just because two different things can share some features, doesn't mean they are the same (and exactly(!) the same). Not paying for watching a movie at your friends house is not piracy, because of the points I mentioned. You should know better.

By the same token: If your friend buys you a dinner, you are enjoying it for free without paying for it, you are a pirate. See what I did there? You cannot over-simplify things: If I made the same generalization, you...

one correction:
"bias" is not an adjective. "biased" is the right word.

All "you are bias" sentences are wrong, some are just to make fun of the fact, some don't know what "bias" means, which is a noun.

The stupid losers will surely not wait between trophies to make them look "real". Then it will be easy to detect them, like how they got the collect 10 diamonds bronze trophy and collect 150 diamonds silver trophy within seconds of eachother. Then will come the ban hammer. I say permaban the hardware for online activities. Then the person can do his self-pleasuring offline, which I don't care.

@vickers500

Your home movie viewing analogy is simply wrong. There's nothing wrong with it, morally or legally. It is not the same thing as piracy.

The movie in such a case can be viewed at one place only, and the dvd sale gives you the right for home viewing with whomever you want (mind you, I'm not talking about public viewing of the said DVD)

And you giving out your game disk or selling it to a friend is JUST as legal. Or you...

You don't get it. If games can be tampered with using external software, outside the incompetence of the game programmers leading to glitches which will always stay isolated per game, it would lead to mass hacking for all games. All I'm asking is whether this is the incompetence of Treyarch, or are they using external software to get these, which a console shouldn't let.

I'm seriously thinking going back to PC gaming, because of this. Lowlife "hackers" ruining one more thing. I guess this is part of their "if you have something in your possession, you should be able to use it however you want" mantra. So if they acquire a game, they should be allowed to fly around in god mode with aimbots, because they have possession of the game.

Unfortunately, some of those those too-many-ways will also have to be implemented to co...

Is this using firmware hacks? If so, multiplayer gaming on the console is good as over for me. Seriously. Using map glitches and bugs to gain advantage is one thing (which I also oppose), but gaining massive advantage through software fiddling, which I was used to see on the PC's, is the worst thing that could happen to console multiplayer gaming.

If sony bricked consoles, they may be violating the TOS, but why would they need to admit it? They'd ban a few under cover, and internet will take care of the rest with rumours. Sony would then flat out deny it, but they'd go on bricking the PS3's, and would blame it on the custom firmware bugs and unsupported software.. Maybe?

Hacked PSP's can do loads, but, gaming took a hit. Anybody who claims otherwise isn't thinking clearly. I bought my Ps3 to play games. Rampant piracy will hurt PS3 gaming. Sure, you will be able to control your coffee machine with it. That's so good. But games will take a hit, as they will start to employ extra DRM (Is the bluray in, is the firmware OK, etc etc), which will create more bugs, which may even lessen the overall performance of the game.

"LittleBigPlanet 2 Requires Mandatory Installation" is wrong.

When you say "mandatory", it is already required. You either say:
"LittleBigPlanet 2 requires installation"
or
"LittleBigPlanet 2 comes with mandatory installation".
etc.

People modding their games and cheating online using homebrew methods is worse for me than piracy. I'll keep on buying games, but when a effing cheats using homebrew in a multiplayer match, it takes all the fun out of the game. Piracy has not been able to kill gaming industry until now, it hasn't killed Xbox360.. But rampant cheating will kill my online gaming. Will we have to use punkbuster like anti-cheat features?? All such preventions will take away valuable cpu resources, will cr...

Glitchers in a competitive setting are low life scumbags. End of story.

They can have all the glitching fun they can in a private match..

Oh well, I was just saying the exact same thing. Even the latest patch didn't solve this. What are these guys doing?? How hard is it to display the correct message..

Yes, switching deletes all your customization preferences. Annoying as hell..

DICE have awesome programmers, but I guess they leave some of their programming to interns, who can't even get the game to display the "Your team won" "Your team lost" text correctly. How hard is to get that right, come on..

The fact that they placed (cleverly, at that) the navigation controller at the front handle (or whatever it is called) totally nullifies the "Oh, how can you use the analogue controller when swinging things around, Sony didn't need to add an analogue to the move controller." excuse. Yes, Sony SHOULD have added an analogue stick to the move. It would have opened many more areas to dual wielded move games (less raily, more freely(!)..)

Currently, the only dual w...

You're mixing loading times to response times, man. I hope you're joking :) Installing a kinect game will not help with the response times, c'mon...

Well, Nintendo brought it to the masses, who had the balls to mass market the motion control as the default control scheme of its "do or die" console, with much inferior computing power compared to its rivals.

We should give credit where its due.

Yeah, I've been saying this all the time. Sony removing OtherOS was stupid as this would infuriate many hackers..

While I can agree some points, I will totally dismiss that achievements are better than trophies "because every achievement goes towards your gamerscore." Every bronze / silver / gold / platinum goes towards your Player level. I don't see how this is different, except from the fact that you can better distinguish the effort PER trophy, as you can see how many harder to get trophies are also won. It's very much like gamerscore, only better.

I hope the foliage in the forest levels are interactive (that is, the leaves should move when you step on them etc etc.)
