Digital foundry article is up.. "Not so impressive is the handling of alpha. Spray in particular on the wet levels looks - to be blunt - pretty dreadful. What we're seeing here is a 1/16th size buffer."
Damn, the game looks good, but we are not allowed to speak the truth about it without getting disagrees..
Lol@the disagrees. Digital foundry will release its examination today, and it will show you indeed that the smoke FX is half-res.
Well now that I think of it, there's the chance that they may confuse each other to some degree. I don't know how it works, but if it works by detecting the intensity of reflected IR light (further being the dimmest), the second infrared source may make things harder for kinect, as some points would receive more infrared than they should, where the two intersects. I have no idea how it works, so I'm not sure.
Oh well: Here the guy explains why it would be too h...
This looks awesome, and I wonder what people can do with 2-3 kinects! I'm sure someone is already doing that. You could put 2-3 kinects in different angles and have the kinects 3d map all the directions in the room, and have one single combined 3d. This could be awesome for VERY, VERY cheap motion capture.
You haven't seen lag because the user's virtual self is inside the video. The video of his projected 3d self is after any lag that occured.
@DigitalAnalog: even if I KNEW that they were transferred from PSP, I *certainly* wouldn't complain if cars mentioned here did not look like a pixelated mess.
Don't get me wrong, they'd still look real nice in a low resolution environment, I wouldn't call them a pixelated mess on a GT4 screenshot, they surely looked nice. But now, they look *out of place* on a 1080p / 720p backdrop.
Let's say you have a really nice technology that will...
Smoke fx is real good, although half-res.
If only a few cars are this bad, this confirms for their quantity over quality ambition. They could say 1000! THOUSAND, I tell you. Not 970.. THOUSAND.
Well, that is too 360 fanboyish indeed.
Last Dance:
As a GT fan, I find this lack of quality unacceptable.
Suddenly, graphics are not important. Last time I checked, people were bragging about 1080p support, which I think is not needed, partly because I don't have a full HD TV, but I can still appreciate a Bluray movie all right.
I'd rather have the game 720p, without these ugly cars. And less billboard trees. The processing power doesn't fall from the "trees", su...
This is not an acceptable quality from GT. They shouldn't have been included, the really bad ones. I have the impression not all them are equally bad, but this also creates even more of a non uniform quality of the product..
They could include it through DLC if they got AT LEAST THE DAMN TEXTURES. Window transperancy through textures, un-flippin believable.
Just hire 1 god damn artist to at least re-amplify the textures, touch up the model here and th...
Both PS1 and PS2 was a generation ahead of PC's, I remember that they outperformed any PC that we could afford those days. But it wasn't the case with the last generation of consoles. Speaking of raw power of the GPU's (excluding the cpu), the last gen was already beaten by the PC video cards at their launch time.
It would be nice if an unbiased pro driver did a comparison between competing products!
@Thief:
I'm a GT Fan, but since when 720p is not enough? Last time I checked, Uncharted and Klllzone ran at 720p. Try to pick on other points.
This happened because Kazunori is too obsessive. My solution would be that we could "pimp" our standard cars by paying a few credit so that we can "install" a standard dashboard and driving wheel.. This way, we'd have an interior view, Kazunori could go to sleep knowing it was the use who installed the standard cockpit view..
You know a game is being played too much when sh*t like that happens.
Ads increase awareness of the product, not all the people browse N4G 2 hours a day, or like you, do that much research. You represent less than 10% of buyers.
For example, GT5 is the second game that I know to have Turkish support. Even that little info would be a very nice reason for people to buy and support the game. But there are no ads to let you know that, because there are no ads where I live!
It looks very good overall..
I now see the strangeness: The cars never receive motion blur, even the ones moving in opposite direction in screen space (look at the cars on the S curve, if the camera is following the leading car, all cars behind it should have had motion blur, especially the ones turning in opposite direction on the curve)
