the fact that death isn't all that fatal in these games is the most unrealistic thing in these games.

but then i'd imagine these games wouldn't be any fun if you only had one life.

and you have to remember it's a game, not a documentary or a military training simulation, frankly i don't think there could be a worse tool for training soldiers than an fps like call of duty, unless they used it as an example of all the wrong things to do.

i think he's underestimating the talant and passion of some members of the community.

maybe he's just afraid the community will come up with stuff he and his team would never have thought of, or thought possible.
much like what always happens when you give the community mod tools.

or maybe ea decided they didn't want free user generated content.
they want any new content to be bought, from them.

actually, now i thi...

would it be too cynical if i suggested it was so they could sell those other maps later as dlc?

there have been a few major ff releases that haven't made it to the west, just not since the days of the snes.

i thought square were past all this only caring about japan stuff.

value?
VALUE?

bullshit.

where's the value in buying games you'll never get your hands on?
where's the value in buying games that they will take away after a couple of years?
where's the value in buying games that are gone if your internet connection goes down? or if/when onlive goes out of business.

maybe they cost more on disc or to download, but not having my purchases taken away if onlive go out of b...

i would dispute any claim that "developers get nothing from second hand sales"

most trade ins are made to fund new purchases, that's benefit 1.
the profit stores make from preowned sales allows them to sell new games for less than their rrp, that's benefit 2.
they could sell the dlc to another player, potential benefit there.

gaming became the biggest entertainment industry in the world with the preowned market running parall...

i'd like to see the tomb raider game feature less gunplay than the uncharted series, tomb raider has always been more about the environment rather than waves of enemies.

keep that platforming/puzzle solving aspect at the core of the gameplay and they'll have the support of the fans of the series.

and as i don't recall anything they've put out about the game so far featuring lara with a gun.
she had a bow in the last trailer, but no gun...

the new additions make it sound close enough to xcom for it to be called a spin off of the xcom games, rather than a core title in the series.

some good prices for their iphone games though.
just bought the sims 3 for 59p
shame rock band is still £2.99, not that that's a bad price, just that i was just shy of having enough on my account.

i think i'll get dead space as well.

do nintendo want those games to be pirated?
people are literally begging for the opportunity to buy these games and nintendo are saying no.

with the wii being region locked importing is impossible too, unless you import the console too.

xenoblade is being released in europe, and i assume it will be localised, so why aren't they releasing them in the us.

they follow whatever agenda give rupert murdoch more money and power, if that's conservative then that's who they'll support, if it's the republicans then they'll support them.

that's exactly what happened in the uk with murdoch's newspaper, i use the word news in its loosest possible sense here, the labour party weren't following policies that he wanted so he threw in with the tories.

i can't stand that this aussie who'...

kinda reminds me of the south park thing with isaac hayes.

how many religions did south park rip on?

but when they did scientology, oh boy.
scientologist are not known for the sense of humour about scientology.

it was a shame that was how his time on the show ended.

anyway, with regards to the bill, personally i don't see how making it illegal to sell mature rated games to children is a bad thing.

interesting article, it may be true, it's possible.

but i've never heard anybody say that less exclusives are a good thing before, if anybody from ms read this they'll probably use it in their marketing.
"tired of not know which exclusive to get for your console? get an xbox, we only have one, problem solved." (^_^)

they'll shut those down quick as you like.

these programs the publishers have sniffing out content on the net don't care about the context of the content, they just find anything that might in any way be like whatever they hold the copyright for and without investigation they'll order youtube or other video sites to just shut it down.

some guy, a teacher i think, had all his youtube videos taken down and his account blocked because his name was th...

i wouldn't be upset if that did happen, but that would mean pachter was right, and i just have a hard time accepting a universe where that could happen.
