they need to bring this to consoles.
how about true survival horror, not a game about mowing down hundreds of zombies with high powered weaponry.
a game that's about trying to survive, not about killing everything you see.
where if you do get weapons they don't come with much ammo, seriously who are these people in these places where these zombie outbreaks happen that so many of them were carrying loads of bullets when they got infected?
is the NRA all powerful in the resident evil univer...
plenty of people have suggested that casual mobile games would destroy the more traditional gaming.
i couldn't agree less.
personally i think casual gaming will bring more people into gaming rather than stealing people away.
they'll play casual games when they wouldn't have considered games before, and then upon discovering they enjoy it they might look for more involving experiences.
which is where the more traditional gaming come...
take your time, please, we'll wait.
honestly, rather that than see a rushed game.
the zelda games have almost always been some of the best, if not the best, games on every nintendo machine, i specified nintendo so those cdi abominations don't count.
make the best game you can, not the quickest.
can somebody remind them we're still waiting for the chance to buy the pink knight in europe.
gotta agree there.
one thing i think ms have got right is allowing small indie developers the chance to creat titles for their machine without the need to shell out thousands for a full dev kit.
i really don't know why sony haven't got some sort of indie program going.
it's not like it'd be something totally new for them, they kind of pioneered it with the yaroze on ps1 and the linux kit for ps2, though i never saw anything created on the linux...
you can already get it on ps3.
and psp, it's a mini so it works on both.
why do people keep thinking the publishers have any right to a cut of preowned sales?
seriously, they don't, and neither does any other industry, it's just all the other industries don't violate our rights to try to get what they have no right to.
it's not so much the passes themselves i hate, i can understand why they want to charge preowned users, and it is a service they're providing, though i have to repeat the point that each preowned...
i really can't stand that guy.
i would say the fact they lock disc games to a single user is the one thing i despise about steam.
i would say it's not even legal.
it's theft is what it is.
they're taking our property and they're dictating how we can use it.
and they're preventing us from exercising our legal right to resell our property.
that's what i can't stand about that twat...
i'll tell you what they were thinking,
cod=fps=$$$=cha ching
fps+generic=no$$$
another game's good name+generic+fps-established genre=$$$=cha ching
that's exactly the same formula that brought us shadowrun and killed fasa studios.
square used a slightly tweeked formula for front mission evolved.
it would have been nice, especially for the pc version to see how it runs, but i don't think many people expected one.
and this is likely to be a game where people know if they're gonna buy it or not as soon as it's announced.
looks like, how should i put it? "a nice chatroom"
but there's not much else to it.
actually, it kind of looks like they're going to an AA meeting or something.
the writer of this article seems to forget one basic, but very important fact.
legally, they have absolutely no right to any cut from preowned sales.
once the game has been bought, that copy is no longer their property.
sure they can charge for an ongoing service, and if that's all this was about then i wouldn't have a problem, but i know this is just the opening salvo in a totally unjustified attack on the preowned market.
...
but they're overstepping the bounds of the bargain.
they no longer have the right to profit from our copy of the game once we bought it, it's our property then, not theirs.
that's a rhetorical question right?
you seen how many games mario is in?
if the character is all on his own then yeah, it's ok for him to be silent, but if there are other characters in that world and he's expected to interact with them, talking is pretty necessary.
if they're just mute while people are talking to him them you end up with a devoid.
as in devoid of character.
devoids are by their nature, not very interesting.
look at gordon freeman, he's a prime example of a devoid.
he's ...
the worst thing for me is you have to cut bits of your games to get it.
and what's the betting that they'll lose loads of the mailed in details and take months sorting it out.
i've seen how these things always end up.
if the publishers want a cut of preowned sales, they'll have to set up their own stores, because despite what they say, they're not actually entitled to anything from any preowned sales of their products.
they got their fair share when they sold the game initially.
and that is all they are legally entitled to.
this is about what the publisher is entitled to.
legally they're entitled to their agreed cut when they sell the game to the store or when they sell it to the consumer, leaving aside any aftermarket products like dlc.
and that is all.
once we've bought the game, their interest in and rights over that copy are over, so long as we remain within the law.
and preowned sales are legal so like i said their involvement in that copy is over.
you know, that's not actually a silhouette.
that's a picture.
this is a silhouette.
