pupop, you're exactly right. And besides that fact, forza & pgr are still not made by the same studio even if they're both published by m$... so them copying each other would still be the same as gt5 having a similar aspect to the game... it's still one dev group borrowing ideas from another one.
I can't pick it up until this weekend but this is a definite purchase for me! I knew I was getting it regardless of what reviews said after playing the demo!
If I like the demo for Lair, I'll still go out and buy that one too. Reviews matter much less than how much fun you actually have with the game. I still remember Legend of Dragoon receiving poor reviews with Gamespot and IGN... it's still one of my favorite games to date.
Not sure what you've been reading... but every review I've seen has said the same thing: that this is a must-have title.
Please... Lair flopped... we know that, it's old news. Still, it's one of the better looking games on any of the systems right now.
As far as the games go... Sony still has R:FOM, Warhawk, Motorstorm, & Heavenly Sword out there.... with Ratchet & Clank, Eye of Judgement, Folklore, Uncharted, Haze, & UT3 coming.... and that's why Sony's hot!
Actually Heavenly Sword does have a midnight release... there goes your theory.
Number one, NA does not make up over 50% of the gaming industry... it only makes up over 50% of the 360's userbase. Number two, the ps3 is still outselling the 360 in the rest of the world and is still coming close in NA. Number three, by the time UT3, MGS4, & KZ2 ship and the next price drop hits... ps3 sales will be equal to or greater than the 360's... after Halo 3 ships, interest in the 360 will plummet pretty quickly. 2008 does not look good for them.
You guys really need to chill with the Halo killer stuff... Halo will have come & gone by the time KZ2 gets here. KZ2 is shaping up to be a great hit though, can't wait until it's finally here!

#1- This is coming from a frickin 360 website
#2- This was debunked 2 weeks ago when the game was shown at GC and reported that it looks the same on both consoles
#3- The PS3 actually has the more advanced GPU, the 360 only has a unified shader and must do all the work by itself unlike the RSX which can also utilize the memory and power available to the spu's

I've read quite a few reviews on the game & have mixed feelings on it. I don't care about the controls... I'm sure I can get used to those. But I was hoping the combat and the story were still satisfactory.

If Madden would have had a decent football game to compete with, they would have made sure that it ran at 60 fps on the PS3 as well! This is not an accomplishment, just proof that Madden could have been run at 60 fps... Thanks Moore, but I'll be buying the better franchise, NBA 2K8!
Yea, this doesn't seem very newsworthy... a chart of dvd sales would show the same thing. As would music or games. The charts peak around major releases and decline otherwise. The "downward trend" still is not as low as the lowest point on the charts, suggesting that sales have picked up since that point in the year.

The death of both blu ray and hd-dvd is not any good for gamers or consumers in general. DVD is not going to cut it for the next few years so we need a winner to emerge... the longer this battle wages, the worse it is for consumers.
DVD's suck compared to either blu ray or hd dvd... for practically every application: storage, gaming, video & sound, etc. I don't really care which one wins b/w the two, but one needs to go ahead and win. Personally I own way more blu rays and...
The graphics look admittedly last gen but they do look more polished than a lot of the Wii games up until now. MP3 is still the best looking Wii game so far but this looks promising.
I have the Pirates blu rays and this does not occur at all with mine... I think that this news may be a pure lie.
Actually, I never have a problem finding a ranked game. But there would be less of a problem if more gamers setup their ps3's as servers when not playing... right now, only beta members are doing this (there were less Sony servers for the beta so as a community we agreed to leave our ps3's running as ranked servers while not playing). More gamers will realize to start doing this eventually... that way the entire game community benefits.
Your response doesn't make any sense. For one, ther is no one server... there are hundreds of them. Not getting in has nothing to do with sh*tty servers, it's the fact that so many are playing. And so many are playing b/c it's such an awesome game... anyone that has read any internet gaming site in the last week knows that.
:-) Yea, I figured this out too... I automatically start looking for games from the bottom of the list. The problem if you start from the top of the list is that everyone is trying to get into the same games as you at the same time... Warhawk is immensely popular & there are many ppl trying to get in games at the same time.
These are the numbers sold to consumers. The numbers that Sony, Microsoft, & Ninty give us are the number sold to retail partners.
Hower, it is surprising to see that the 360 hasn't even hit 9M after 2 years on the market though!
