Nota chance fanyboy. Gears 2 will likely be more of the same action... the first one was not exactly the most innovative as is. I'm sure it will have great graphics & be fun... but hell, so will Resistance 2. Resistance 2 is actually improving on everything the first game presented! Based on what we know so far, R2 is actually the most ambitious fps to date, period.
Wow... I believe I started watching out for this game around the time of TGS. But all I'd seen were screen shots; I was not aware of any vids. It looks even better in motion... I'm VERY excited about the release now! I hope the localization doesn't take long.
What do you mean "ha really"? Have you not seen the gameplay vids?!!! The game looks like it will be a blast to play but the graphics look pretty bad. They look even more outdated than Half Life's!!! The game will probably be fun... but with Resistance, Gears, & KZ all on the way, this is a game I will probably be passing on.
Well Timmy, I once hyped it on 360 but am not all that excited for it anymore after seeing gameplay vids... I'm sure it will still be fun, the action does look pretty hectic. But the visual presentation is very lacking and I'm sure there will be plenty of other shooters this year that provide a fast paced shooting experience... and manage to do it while looking MUCH better than this game... Gears 2 and Resistance 2 come to mind. I'd rather have either of those over this game. And honestly, PS...
They probably are multi-plat, we should have more news soon. The screens from the first game look promising... not so sure on the 2nd game yet though.
I think the only problem with this game is that it will be compared to COD4. I need to watch more vids, but so far the action in COD4 seems more intense & the visuals are definitely better... but I do like the map layouts in this game more. I'll probably rent it first.
There was nothing BUT gameplay in the trailers they showed at E3... the title was touted as being a Holiday 08 title at the time! So this doesn't strike me as being such a big surprise... more like it's about time.
RE5 is a bigger title than Gears 2... from what we've seen of the gameplay, I expect more from it too! Plus, I think that both games could survive a November release just fine.
I can't wait to hear when we get a NA release of this game... hopefully by the summer time!
Two weeks is PLENTY of time for the purpose of finding bugs & testing the game. And if we want the game to make it's June date than we certainly don't want them extending the beta any longer than necessary so that they DO have time to implement any changes based on our feedback.
Plus, they've already been testing internally and have had a beta in Japan. So the only issues they are likely to be addressing our server related.
Yea... it really does look like a sloppy UT3 rip off... the levels don't even look inspired at all!!!
I'm looking forward to Team ICO games but I don't believe that's real... looks WAY too real.
I love using it for the Warhawks, it just sucks for the ground vehicles... so I started just leaving it off. Either way, it's definitely not a liability but very few games have made good use of it.
Heavenly Sword, Flow, & NBA 2K8 have my favorite implementations of it... and I'm looking forward to seeing how devs put it to use in the future. Also, I kind of think having to shake the controller when being attacked, in games like Resistance, is more engaging than rumble... i...
I do think the majority of the PS3 audience at this point is 18+... but they do need to release an option for gamers that don't have credit or debit cards.
At any rate, if you have not tried any of the pixel games or Everyday Shooter... go buy now! They are awesome. Calling All Cars is probably the best game that was released on PSN, unfortunately I don't think enough ppl purchased it. It's an awesome party game.
Not everyone enjoys having to go online to enjoy games... This one though does seem like a really cool idea. I hope there's a little more to it than was discussed in the article though. The balancing sound cool, but there needs to be more to it than 'cops vs. robbers'.
yea, my interest in this game spiked when they released those dev interviews on gametrailers a month or so ago... I think this is going to end up being one of the real gems on the PS3.
Yea, the truth is that nothing we've seen is likely to be part of the actual sequel. Still... I think that Gears 2 is going to end up more impressive than I originally thought it would. I had grown pretty tired of the Unreal Engine lately, but Gears seems to be making some impressive leaps forward. Even if they're just now getting up to speed with what a lot of PS3 games already provided.
It'll be interesting to see how sharp the visuals are when the game comes out! Will it be...
Actually, everyone I know at school is talking about the PS3... it's the machine everyone wants now & definitely has the most games to look forward to.
And @adalwolfe... where in the world have you been for the last few months???? The PS3 is the system the press is praising for 2008. It definitely has the superior game line up. Even for 2007 there were far more exclusives for me to purchase on the PS3 than I did on the 360! You're in serious denial!
Well the game is definitely shaping up better than I thought compared to the first trailers that were shown when the game was introduced. It still needs a little polishing though...
Really the 3rd person narrative was not a big distraction for me. I walked away really enjoying the story. I'm sure I'll enjoy having a more engaging narrative... but I had no complaints about the first one.
