This is certainly great news for PS3 fans... they have quite a bit to look forward to this Fall/Winter actually.
He's not saying that any one studio works 18 hour days... he's saying that because the 3 studios are spread out around 3 different time zones... there's always someone working on the game at least 18 hours out of a day.
Yea, I'm not sure that I actually believe this. Although a 15 hr campaign would definitely be cool. A Stamina Bar though? That sounds ripped straight from MGS4! And co-op with different difficulties for each player??? Hmmm, doesn't sound quite right to me.
The rest of the 'info' sounds cool though, if true.
The graphics won't win any awards but I like the look of the game.
In the latest Insomniac podcast, they state that the R2 graphical assets have not been put into the demo's yet.
I'm thinking that they will be in the single player footage that we see on June 13 though.
That's exactly what this is! Bioshock was always a MS exclusive from day one... and now it's coming to the PS3. Microsoft never had many 3rd party exclusives to begin with that COULD be pulled... now it has nearly none. The only Sony exclusives that have been made multiplat are 3rd party games... so the reason we haven't seen this happen as much with the 360 is b/c they never had any 3rd party exclusives to begin with. All of their big exclusives are published BY Microsoft.
What it adds to the game is some variety... and I won't fight variety. Of all my consoles, the PS3 is definitely my favorite... but I don't see the sense in denying that the 360 gets good games sometimes too. I think Fable 2 will actually deliver better than the first one did. At least I hope so. Same way I feel about Killzone 2. Both sequels look significantly better than their originals did.
MGS4 is the next BIG game to look forward now that GTA IV has come and gone... but right after that, yes I can't wait for Gears 2 and Resistance 2!
The game isn't looking very good to me. I might rent it if it averages at least a 7+ score.
The whole dog thing was a stupid idea to me. Especially b/c they didn't show any usefulness for having a dog. I think the idea of being able to have multiple families is a cool dynamic though. I'm sure some of the ideas will be pretty crap just like the first one, but over all this should be a decent game. It definitely looks like the best looking game for the 360 this year.
Well they're just relaying what they played. They did say that the gameplay was solid... jut nothing terribly new. As long as it's solid and looks as good as it does, and has a good story... it'll be worth buying.
Hell, they should use that SAME exact trailer to advertise the game when it comes out... it definitely does the job!!! And on the commercial they need to write "This is all in game gameplay!".
I don't know... even in its current state R2 is clearly going to be a very beautiful game. There's something about the detail in the environment... plus this isn't even single player footage & they have a LOT of time to polish it even further.
Definitely have to disagree with you there... the game already looks better than the first Gears. Who knows how it will measure up to the second one though... we haven't seen any gameplay footage of Gears 2 yet.
My guess is that the two will be pretty close though & R2 will likely have more detail onscreen at any given time (the first one did anyway). One thing is for sure... given the track record of both engines, R2 will run a hell of a lot better while pushing those polyg...
Not only that, but one of their complaints was that there wasn't much new as far as gameplay that wasn't any in any of the other good shooters we've played... but as long as the game is as good as those other good shooters, I don't care. All of the other detail they've included would make it good enough to purchase for me.
Yea, I made the same comment on the comments section of that article. Gamespot are morons. Not sure that I like them copying the shield from Halo though... especially since I thought the backlash grenade from the first game was an even cooler idea... Hope that's still in the game.
I understand what Sonarus is saying... only then, it would no longer be a Killzone game. Although it is sci-fi, the Killzone universe has its own distinctive feel to it. It's not Halo. It's not Resistance. We already have those games.... and I can't wait to have this one! Can't wait til Feb.
The cover system is already better than anything offered in COD4. If the rest of the gameplay is only marginally better than COD4 and the graphics didn't even improve beyond what we're seeing today... This would still be a must buy game! This game looks good as hell and they're still going to be working on it for another 9 months... that's incredible!
Close?!!! That surpassed the E3 05 Trailer!!!
Yea, they gave it a fair review and raised a lot of good points... at the same time, they did provide the MGS haters with a lot of ammunition on the game though. For all of it's splendor, they did seem to focus a lot on the negative aspects of the game. And maybe that's fair... as all any other site is doing is praising the game, this one actually pointed out what those that aren't strict supporters of the series may be let down by.
As for me.... pre-ordered and paid for!!! Can't...
