'AnTi-CoNsUmeR'.... Well no, if you're a Playstation player, they've done something good for their consumers. it isn't anti-consume at all.
They could have made this game on Switch. As Halo Infinite showed, what's the point of 12 teraflops of power if it isn't going to be used?
Outer Worlds was decent, but not mind blowing. I'm not even going to judge Avowed from that tiny snipped that could well have been CG or proof of concept.
I ended up sympathising with Abby more than any other character in the game.
I have planned and saved since last year to get a Series X and PS5 at launch.
I now feel like holding off on a Series X for a year or so after watching that. I have an Xbox One X. It was an incredibly underwhelming show. Halo looked like a current gen game.
'Making games cross gen won't affect them on next gen'. Well, after seeing Halo Infinite, you could have fooled me.
I tried it and launch and tried it again recently. It's beautiful, but incredibly dull. There's just nothing worth doing when everything is cosmetic. There's also no reason to explore when there's literally nothing worth finding.
To say announcing a game would 'SHOCK!' is a bit silly isn't it?
Going back and playing it now through the master chief collection (i'm trying to get through the series in prep for Infinite), it really hasn't held up. The first game has such tedious, boring level design. I'm struggling to push myself to keep going to finish it. I've just been introduced to the flood, which has made the story a little more interesting, but it's still pretty bland.
Now that's the type of options i like to see. Maybe they'll use more traditional lighting etc in performance instead of ray tracing in that mode.
Xbox's plan isn't about being 'consumer friendly' or anything like that. It's about keeping Gamepass attractive to all users from Series X, Xbox One and PC. If you make the majority of your games only playable on Series X or a PC with a fast SSD (i know plenty of PC players who still run an old HDD), suddenly Gamepass isn't as attractive to old hardware users. It's all about money and it makes sense for the strategy Xbox seems to be going with.
I...
There's really not that much difference between the two consoles. Maybe PS5 will use some upscaling or dynamic resolution to hit the same performance levels as XSX in some mutli-platform games, but that's about it.
Based on their track record, i still expect Sony exclusives to be better.
XVA looks to just be a fancy term for 'custom built hardware made to work together efficiently'... like most consoles.
All the criticism? No, there’s plenty of troll crap in these criticisms.
Yeah the gameplay didn’t do anything revolutionary, but everything it did do, it did excellently.
Yeah I felt a bit lost when I finished it, nothing else felt appealing for a couple of weeks.
I didn’t wanted it to end. Game of the generation for me so far. I throughly enjoyed the world and story. Abby ended up being my favourite character by the end.
I think you underestimate how taxing ray tracing is, let alone 4K. These consoles are 'budget' machines compared to high end PC setups. We need to lower our expectations. While some games may be 60 FPS, they won't be 'ultra' settings.
My Switch gathers dust. I'm disappointed i bought it. As my tastes have changed as i've gotten older, Nintendo hasn't made products to suit my changing tastes. I'm not into JRPGs or the more 'family friendly' franchises Nintendo has. My only interests are Zelda and Metroid (jokes is on me with Metroid...). Also, i'm just not into handheld gaming and most Switch games look pretty bad on a TV. Also, it is generally the worst place to play multi platform games. Yes, ...
I've built two PCs back when i was into PC gaming and it was actually pretty easy. Had never done it before and just did a bit of research into all the parts and how they fit together.
"Oh shit, we don't have any games to release for a while!"
"Dig one out of the archive boys, problem solved. Those idiots will lap it up."
