I'm the opposite. I can't see how it got so many awards. Average combat that doesn't do anything particularly new or exciting. Environments that while nice, look very repetitive. A story that feels convoluted for the sake of it.
It's certainly not a bad game at all, I'm just not finding anything special about it personally.
It's a cool feature, but old games is the least of my interest in a new console. Hopefully some older games I might actually play get this update.
Gamepass doesn't work for me, but I can see how it would for others. I've had the service a year (and it's locked in with my Series X all access deal now too), but I barely touch it. I'm fussy with the games I spend my time on.
While exclusives coming day one is great, Xbox hasn't had any exclusives I've cared about for a long time (I'm not a Gears or Halo fan. I tried The Medium and it's just 'ok', so I doubt I'll keep playing it...
I remember Ryse Son of Rome looked great for a launch game back in the day... was very lacklustre gameplay wise though.
I wish we'd get less 'cinematic shots' etc and more gameplay videos. Not just this game, but games in general. Sick of all this fake hype that ends up with games either not looking anywhere near as good or the gameplay being really average. 'In engine' renders give me the shits too. They're never indicative of gameplay graphics.
While I really enjoyed the first Max Payne back in the day and I remember thinking Alan Wake was pretty good (can't remember a lot about it), I found Quantum Break pretty average (stopped playing after like 5 hours) and having played about 4 hours of Control, I'm really not getting the hype around this game.
Control's story feels convoluted for the sake of it. The combat is just 'ok'. While it is a pretty game, everything looks the same and I'm alrea...
Tried this because it's on Gamepass. Feels like an 80s point and click adventure... and not in a good way.
While the story seems like it could be interesting, I've found the gameplay incredibly boring. Don't think I'll bother with it any more.
Gee, so much to compare it to as well.... haha. I'm not invested in the game. 30fps with drops to 900p resolution on Series X and drops to 634p on Series S. They were obviously too ambitious and should have made more compromises making their game.
Pre loading now on Series X. To be honest, it looks a bit slow for me. I don't actually like the look of playing through in simultaneous split screen either. I'm really just giving it a go because there's nothing else exclusive on Xbox at the moment (or near future) I have any interest in playing. I'm expecting to try it out for an hour or so and be done with it.
He tries new things, pushes boundaries and implements interesting tech and gameplay mechanics, which I respect. Has done a lot for the industry.
I personally don't think all his games are as great as some make out to be though. Often convoluted for the sake of it, honestly sometimes boring as hell. Hits and misses for me. Metal Gear Solid is an all time great for me though.
I'm the same. Played since the D1 beta and gave up during the season they brought Saint 14 back. It's just become a stale grind fest. They haven't done enough to keep the game fresh and grinding the same stuff over and over just became a chore. Chore... that's a good word to explain what the game became.
It's not even the bugs that's put me off, they were always going to get fixed. It's all the broken promises. GTA San Andreas has more impressive police, traffic and pedestrian AI than this game. There's no world interaction, no activities like gambling, sport, barbers etc to make the world feel real. It's just such a let down over what THEY promised.
Bugs aside, it just doesn't seem to be the immersive world they kept promising. World interactivity seems to be almost non existent. The world AI is vastly inferior to an old game like GTA V. It's just not even close to what was promised.
I'm a bit of a resolution snob, but I tried this mode on my LG CX and was very impressed.
Tired this today. It's brilliant.
Also, it's dynamic 4K, so it scales. I didn't see any drops that looked as low as 1080p. My guess is it dropped as low as 1440p. This is amazing for the start of this generation.
I've been dialling down my expectations of Xbox after the first half of last generation, yet I'm still always disappointed.
Subjective. Just like I can't stand the vast majority of JRPGs. Convoluted, annoying characters, terrible UI, vague explanation of how systems work, aesthetically displeasing art style. All subjective.
I disagree Ghost is the better game, but thinking a game is better than another is completely subjective.
TLOU2 had me engaged from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down and kept wanting to see where the story went. I enjoyed the 'shades of grey' themes of the story. Stuck with me after. Enjoyed the world and characters much more than Ghost.
Ghost has really fun combat, but the story couldn't keep me interested. I find Jin a rather dull...
Unfortunately their strategy doesn't resonate with me. Not unless they start getting AAA third party games to Gamepass day one. A lacklustre line up of first party games (subjective of course), and third party games I've already played before they get to Gamepass. Couple that with a fair bit of 'filler' and old games, it means Gamepass just isn't appealing to me.
I don't mind paying for good games. On PS5 I can play the third party games (that I woul...
No idea. Teraflops isn't a fool proof method of determining if a system runs better, especially in custom built systems like these. PS5 could be better optimised to remove bottlenecks ongoing regardless of how either console's APIs are improved as the generation goes on and it may continue to have some performance advantages in some games/modes.
I expect performance to be fairly close the entire generation personally. Even the differences we've seen so far I'...
I'm just someone who very rarely has any interest in an old game I've already played. I generally look for new experiences, not to relive old ones. I guess you'd say while I have a large library of games I've built over the years, I care about very little of it now.
There's some rare examples. Like I will play the Mass Effect remaster that's coming (my fav gaming franchise ever). I replayed God of War with the PS5 upgrade (it's one of my top 5 ga...
