I watched the video on my 4k tv and thought it looked excellent, so i'm very happy if that's how the performance mode looks.

Eh, I perfectly understand how you do or don’t get the upgraded version of the original Spider-Man and it’s not a huge price jump to get the ultimate edition of Miles over the standard version. I’m assuming the ‘upgrade’ option from the standard version on the store will just be the difference.

I get we’re in an age of entitlement, but if it means I get remasters of great games that are more than just a resolution bump (which this most certainly is), I’ll happily pay a fee ...

I understand people saying Sony needs to buy up to keep competing and while that would be nice, they are not in a financial position to spend that sort of money. Sony as a whole is worth about 80 billion. Ubisoft is worth like 6.5 billion. That's not going to happen.

Microsoft is worth over 1 trillion, which is why a 7.5 billion buy was doable.

Sony would need to look at smaller groups or individual studios. A buy like Ubisoft isn't going to happe...

I've played The Outer Worlds. That game has no heart. It's obvious it is completely different people working there now compared to back in the New Vegas days.

For me it's more showing the direction Microsoft is heading. If you don't think they have plans for a monopoly where possible, take your blinkers off.

After playing some of The Outer Worlds, I'm not excited at all with the current Obsidian.

Value is subjective. I don't find enough value in exclusives I don't care about, a bunch of third party games I will have already bought and played, or a bunch of indy games I have no interest in.

I do see value in excellent first party exclusives i'll thoroughly enjoy though.

I'm luckily in a position to get a PS5 and a Series X, but if I could only choose one, PS5 will bring me far more enjoyment over the generation if track record is a...

It's just disappointing for a digital only console is all. I'd rather get the Series X and then save up for a drive later rather than get the Series S and an expansion at launch.

USB-C should be standard for these consoles, especially with external SSDs for old games or storing games to play later.

WiFi 6 should really be standard considering this is just the start of the generation. It's already obsolete. I don't think old PlayStation con...

No USB C or WiFi 6 is pretty disappointing. The Series S by the time you upgrade the HDMI cord and get an expansion SSD (512 for a digital console? Yeesh) isn't actually that cheap. It seems by the time you get a Series S and an expansion SSD, you may as well have bought a Series X.

If i can get one through All Access, i'll get a Series X, but with no decent exclusives for at least a couple years, i see no reason to purchase one outright when i'll be getting a PS5. Its really weird to think this console is launching with ZERO exclusives.

Nintendo fans. The biggest suckers in gaming.

PS5 will probably be like $750 in Australia. Or I can spend $3000 on a 3070 PC and either not be able to play PS5 games or have to wait a year or more. No thanks.

Bare bones effort. Basically a resolution/frame rate bump and nothing more. Exactly what i expect from Nintendo.

Just wish their die hard fans weren't so happy to lap up any old shit they produce so they'd actually have to put in some effort for a change.

I've seen people talking about 'downgrades'. The only thing i saw that really looked different was they have changed the lighting on the pirate ship scene (it was very dark in the original video a few months ago).

Is that what people are referring to?

Why do people seem to think Sony is some sort of charity that would make controllers backwards compatible to save people money? They are a business selling a luxury item. They exist to make money. Either don't buy the console or don't buy an extra controller. They haven't taken anything away from your existing products.

There's a difference between defending a corporation and not caring about ridiculous outrage over nothing.

Make a non motion control version and i'll buy it. Hated the motion controls in the original and it's why i tried it from a friend and stopped playing after a couple hours. While i enjoyed Metroid Prime trilogy, i'd much prefer a non motion control version.

I have never once wished i could use an old controller on a new console.

Why would you bother designing a new controller with new features, only to have those features be useless when able to be skipped by people who use an old controller? What if the design of your game specifically uses those features as game play mechanics? We then expect developers to add another control scheme to account for controller features that are missing? What a waste of development time.

There’s zero Series X exclusives I’m interested in unfortunately, didn’t care for Halo either. Guess I’ll get it in a couple years when Fable and Avowed come out and just get a PS5 at launch.
