Got mine yesterday, set it up and played. Honestly, so far you could call it an Xbox One X Elite. It doesn't have the 'WOW factor' so far. Once the proper next gen games come i'm sure it'll be different, but it just didn't feel 'special' like other console launches.

Hoping my PS5 tomorrow feels different.

Seeing how quickly you can load into a save game from the 'cards', it doesn't really seem like it needs quick resume, at least not for next gen games which is the PS5 focus.

The XSX feature is better implemented for sure, but the PS5 option works fine.

You have to play on the 1080p mode to get 60fos though don’t you?

I wanted to enjoy this game, but it was below average. Couldn’t get through more than a few hours before I was bored. Hope the third one is MUCH better.

I'm hoping some tech reviewer will try that new SSD that seems to be fast enough.

I'm getting XSX and PS5 at launch. While i'm really excited about the PS5 and playing new games and trying the DualSense, I could probably quite happily leave the XSX in the box for a while. There's just nothing exciting about it yet for me. The only plus is there are a few games on gamepass getting 120fps updates I can try out for the novelty (I have no interest in those games as far as actually playing through them, except maybe for Ori I didn't finish).

Will it just work Todd? Will it? I'm still waiting for Fallout 76 to work.

Give up on that ancient engine with a million pieces sticky taped on.

Honestly for PS5 i think Spider-Man Mile Morales, Demon's Souls, Godfall, Sackboy and Bugsnax along with Watchdogs, Valhalla and COD is actually a pretty solid first day line up for a new console. Yep, you've got cross gen and third party, but we always do. What they hell are they on about? When has there been a better launch day line up than that?

Xbox just has Gears Tactics as a first party game, so yeah, that's pretty weak in my opinion.

Jeez, learn about cable management dude.

I guess with no launch games, you need something to be excited about?

Yep that's it. I expect frame rates to be the same on both systems (consoles will cap at 30, 60 and 120). Similar GPU tests for comparison showed a difference of a few frames when at the same settings, which won't really come into play on consoles. Both consoles will have a few dropped frames in some games here and there, just like PC games do.

Maybe PS5 will have some more dynamic resolution in some games? Which will basically be unnoticeable.

PS5 cannot use Direct X (Microsoft owned), so they have to write their own features into their API. This is how PS5 has ray tracing even though they don't have Direct X. RDNA2 on PC incorporates Direct X.

This is like PS5 trademarking their SSD I/O tech as 'The Conundrum Transfer' and making a statement 'Only PS5 has full Conundrum Transfer support!'. Xbox still has incredibly fast SSD tech.

This from Xbox is all buzz words.

Performance mode in the original had frame rates up to 60fps (that was the cap), but generally hovered around 45fps. 4K mode was locked at a 30fps cap, although it did dip of course. This game isn't getting a patch that changes the modes or resolutions, it's just running in BC mode with the performance mode going up to 60fps and 4K LOCKED to 30fps cap, just as in the original game. It isn't a reflection on the performance of the PS5 at all. It's just running the game as it alw...

As far as Xbox One exclusives go, I thought Ori was cool, but didn't think of it as a game of the year or anything.

I'm not into car games, so didn't care about Forza.

Tried some Gears 5 - Incredibly boring. Sea of thieves - Pretty, but a boring, empty world.

Overall, a massively disappointing generation on Xbox for me. Hardly had any reason to play mine.

All Access. Pay it off over time. The sooner it's paid off, the better and then it's there ready for 1 or 2 years down the track when good games finally start coming out.

I'm getting both consoles at launch. My Series X will gather dust waiting for exclusives to play. A cheap service full of games is pointless to me if there's nothing on there i want to play.

I refuse to miss out on PlayStation exclusives. They're too good.

While XSX might be able to push out some more frames in games, games will be 30, 60 or 120fps. Say PS5 can push 30fps with RT, but XSX can push 36fps with RT, the game will be locked at 30fps. XSX is not powerful enough to be doubling PS5 frame rates, so I seriously doubt we are going to see much of a difference between the consoles.

Maybe RT effects will look slightly better on XSX? I think that's about it.

I have my issues with Xbox (even though i'm still getting a Series X along with a PS5), but this is clearly an engine/developer problem. This engine had problems on current gen systems too.

I was honestly expecting locked 1080p for 120fps, so the resolution being dynamically higher most of the time is nice, but I was definitely hoping for better graphics than that. Ewww.
