How the heck do I get a disagree?? My post was complete FACT. We need to WAIT AND SEE what happens. Sony is expecting a .4 failure rate on PS4s, which is super low. These reports do not contradict that estimate. That may change, but right now, no one can say with any certainty if there is a systemic problem with the PS4 just based on 241 bad Amazon units (if those are even true hardware failures).
It is true that anyone can post on Amazon and on any other website. But, you have to keep in mind that most people do not post -- good or bad. The total number of PS3s that Amazon sold was in the tens of thousands. There are 241 1-star reviews and 297 5-star reviews. That is only about 600 people out of tens of thousands! Most people are not having any problems. You have not seen the same thing on BestBuy.com (I would say that Best Buy has sold as many, if not more than Amazon). On Be...
Please... MS is just trying to get some media attention during the PS4 launch. It is a "don't forget about us" thing since Sony has been dominating the web for the past week.
Here is where the comparison breaks down....
1. PS+ is needed to play online multiplayer, with the exception of most free-to-play games, which will not require PS+.
2. All other services, including apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) are not behind a paywall. Also not behind a paywall are things movie/TV services, sharing/live streaming (to Twitch, UStream, etc.), Facebook, remote play (with Vita), cross-game chate, web browser, PS App on Android/iPhone, Sharing ...
The Kinect and the PS Eye are "gimmicks"... the difference is that Kinect is being forced on people and is a direct reason for the XB1 to be $100 more than the PS4. With the less expensive tech under the hood, MS might have been able to undercut Sony on price had the Kinect not been mandatory.
Out of date.... but, man, the size of that XB1 power brick is crazy! It's HUGE!!! What if you have limited shelf space behind the XB1 on the shelf? Where you are going to put it?
Usually, Amazon will send an email telling you that your method of payment is not valid and gives you a chance to fix. I had an expired card on file and had not updated the info last year. Amazon just held an order of mine until I was able to update.
What the hell are you reading? Since E3, Pachter has been talking about the PS4 kicking the crap out of the XB1 over the next year. You may not like the guy and I definitely don't agree with everything he says all of the time, but get your facts straight. If you can show something different, please link to the source.
Yeah... it is interesting as Polygon is a lone voice on this. Certainly different than the other reviews that I have read so far.
First, only a quarter of the games at the event were indie titles which means that there were about 40 games playable at the event, 30 of which were not discussed in the article. Second, you can troll all you want. Have fun with your XB1 that has inferior versions of AAA titles. (By the way, have you read the Digital Foundry analysis of Dead Rising 3, LOL... http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Stepping in before the lawyers do. MS is trying to avoid a lawsuit. There is no other reason to send a letter or legal document.
Absolutely! Plus, there is a reason why we didn't see a huge price cut on the PS3 coming into the holidays. That will come after the holidays and the PS4 has some serious momentum and a big head start over the XB1.
Yeah, "that's nice"... but, how is a response of "no" to a question asked on Twitter a full blown article? I love Shuhei. I think that he is one of the most affable, likable executives in the video game industry and his candor is really refreshing. But I find it so funny that often times he simply says "yes" or "no" to a question, and a whole "article" is posted and it rises to 1,000 degrees.
@thehitman
If MS truly thought it was good then they shouldn't have reversed it, but obviously they knew they were in the wrong.
Gotta disagree with you statement.
Actually, the only reason they reversed anything was due to the extreme backlash of the gaming community, gaming press, the fact that the information was "bleeding" into the mainstream (e.g. Jimmy Fallon) and MOST IMPORTANTLY, this was translating into a huge disparity i...
If his LEGALLY purchased XB1 was received LEGALLY and MS banned him for using his LEGALLY OWNED XB1, he may have a potential legal action against MS depending on where he lives. He was under no NDA or other contractual duty to MS. Actually, he probably couldn't even use the thing as the day one patch is not available.
I got that deal and paid $0 for my DualShock 4. But, my understanding from the terms was that quantities were limited and it would only be available while supplies lasted. Meaning that they probably only had a certain number of DS4s set aside for the deal. Sucks that you didn't get the deal, but Amazon might work with you. They have great customer service.
I'm sorry, but a "chart" for the "Wii U to Dominate" over what? The Wii? If they are still trying to get the point across that the Wii U is a different system than the Wii, it is a problem. But, how does this help them "dominate" anything when the PS4 and XB1 are about to launch? They should have a chart showing why the Wii U is a viable choice when compared to Sony and MS's offerings. The problem for Nintendo is that the Wii U has been out for a yea...
Iwata: "Other companies will launch new consoles (in the overseas markets at the end of this year), *but I think they focus on targeting highly skilled users*. Therefore, in that sense, though the competition will heat up because new game consoles will come out and there will be a 'war of the game consoles' played out in media articles, we wonder if the target user will actually be the same.
So, he believes that Nintendo console owners are not the same "hig...
If that is the case, WHY would Microsoft do a LIVE stream event with an "old build".... Honestly, they don't need more bad press on the XB1's graphical fidelity!
Interesting that MS is hosting a high end party for D.C.'s "Elite" since they are obviously a great video game demographic. /s
This actually makes no sense. Sony is taking a different approach and is focusing on "regular" people -- gamers.
