Absolutely... and, to be honest, the vitriol directed at Microsoft is not just from PS4 "fanboys"... There is a tremendous amount of disdain for the Xbone right now from members of the (soon to be) former Xbox 360 community.
One other point is that the author of this opinion piece directed this only at Sony fanboys. It would appear from his commentary that he is more than likely a 360 fanboy who is spreading utter nonsense:

Yeah... I am not disagreeing with you at all. I remember reading about the deal between Sony and R*... but, depending on the contract, it could have been related to the PS3. If Agent becomes a "next gen" game, then it is very possible that the terms of the contract end up void. I was just thinking about this game... it has never been "officially" cancelled... Perhaps, R* needed next gen tech to do what they wanted with the game. Of course, this could also mean that it is no longer an exclusive to Sony's platform and if it is made, may be on XB1 as well. But, who the heck knows. We may never see this game at retail. What I am really looking forward to is a next gen sequel to Red Dead!!

@Tigan... The most recent issue of Game Informer in its "Preview" section pretty much bashes Ryse. Seriously, I've been a subscriber to GI for 7 years and I think that it is one of the most forgiving publications when it comes to game review scores (they GENERALLY (i.e., not all the time, but generally) give higher scores or go easier on most titles than many other publications).

I completely agree with you about Bayonetta... As far as a "generic" 10/10 for GTA V, after playing the game for the past week, I have to say that it is an impressive feat that R* has pulled off with this game. The world is incredibly rich, varied and absolutely HUGE. To be able to have 3 main characters that you can seamlessly switch between is also very innovative. You can play tennis, golf, skydive, swim, bike ride, participate in triathlons, go to the movies... That being said...

Like it or not, agree or disagree, there is no argument that VERY FEW games get a 10/10 from Edge. I don't necessarily agree with their scoring, it is just a fact that it is extremely rare to get a 10/10 from them. Just because GTA V may or not be a 10/10 to you does not diminish the fact that it did get that score from a notoriously tough publication.
Here is a list of what games have received 10/10... this is it since 1996...

Edge generally give lower scores than other sites. A 10 on Edge is a HUGE accomplishment.

I agree that the general consumer won't know or care about the MS 180's... For them, sales are driven, for the most part, by price...
However, the initial purchases of new consoles (and new tech in general) are generally by the "core" who DO know the history of the next gen consoles. Hardcore gamers are usually the ones who buy consoles at launch and, for hardcore MS fans, the $100 does not matter -- they will buy the XB1 regardless ...
You mean, like when a game only has a limited number of a certain type of monster and they don't re-spawn after you kill them? Sounds pretty innovative to me! /s

I am a major sony fanboy and I get annoyed at anti-PS4/Sony articles, but seriously? The media has done nothing but praise Sony since the PS4 announcement. Apple got way more crap when their Foxconn scandal happened. MS (to me, deservedly so in most instances) has been getting bashed left and right and the gaming media is critical of them non-stop. This story is a non-story, but don't make it sound like this is like it was after the PS3 announcement when ever...
