Greg Miller from IGN is using the PS4 to live stream and you can go and his videos are archived.
It's funny that Boogie2988 a/k/a Francis was at the Sony Release party. Sony flew him out to NY and put him up in a hotel... You know why? Because apparently Shuhei Yoshida is a huge fan of his and contacted him about coming to the release party. It is also funny that because Sony had him, MS is all of a sudden courting him, as well. He has become like "Joe the Plumber" from the McCain/Palin rallies here in the U.S.!
Honestly, I love his videos and subscribe...
That's insane, but in reality, your story is not the norm. Most families will have trouble even affording one console this holiday. On another note, how the heck did one person get 3 pre-orders? I'm pretty sure that Gamestop limited pre-orders to one per person.
As long as Sony has the consoles available at retail, it will sell whatever inventory it has this holiday season.
@Puppy Farts...
LOL.. I know what you were saying and that it was not directed toward me but, I just wanted to point out that the reviews are resoundingly in favor of the PS4, no matter how the Xbox loyalists want to spin it.
Launch lineup means nothing because in a month or so, you are going to have to buy more games and I'd rather hitch my wagon to Sony which has a roster of great developers (first and second party) and simply has a history of churning out high quality after high quality titles. MS has taken a different tact historically of buying timed-exclusives and not spending money to develop from within. This generation does not look to be any different.
@Puppy Farts
Ok... Since you asked, I'll "jump in"...
Gamesradar's XB1 review: Should I Buy? "Not just yet The launch lineup isn't strong enough to justify picking one up just yet, and most of the games worth buying are available by other means. That said, the games paint a great picture of what the system can do. Despite being slightly less powerful than the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One is capable of greatness--we're seeing mas...
So, ND, the creator of one of the most highly acclaimed titles in history of gaming, could learn a few things from I am Alive, one of the worst reviewed games of last generation?
Wrong month, but April Fools?
Man... the reviews have been less than stellar so far for the XB1.
And, look at the poll results in this article!
And this is a "mainstream" source, not some internet blog.
EDIT: This review, like many others, is being critical of the XB1, but then being "apologetic" about with that same "not right now" vibe to the review that I have seen in most others.
You mean, this verdict?
"Verdict: Buy it if there are exclusives that appeal to you, not for the bells and whistles. Otherwise, save $100 and get a PS4."
I just read Kotaku's review and it was not great for the XB1 either. http://kotaku.com/the-xbox-...
@Praxxtor Cruel..
Yes, "overblown...until it happens to you." But, overblown, nonetheless. It sucks for those affected by defective consoles (no matter what brand), but honestly with over a million PS4s in the wild, there is still a small number of reported failures.
yeah... I don't know how it is possible, but the XB1 does not show up on Amazon's Top 100 (in the US) list of hot new releases or best sellers in video games. It is showing up as the 10th most popular video game item in 2013. (PS4 is number 5).
EDIT: I thought maybe it was because the XB1 was not released yet, but the lists are showing XB1 games that have not yet released.
PS4 is a hot item and looks poised to crush the Xbox One... XB1s are still available for pre-order and guaranteed at launch on Amazon UK... That is unbelievable to me only 3 days out from launch!
The same Michael Pachter who predicted the Wii HD back in 2008? Honestly, this one would make sense except for the fact (as many people have commented), the current XB1 does not have an input for coaxial cable. Which means that people will still have to have a converter box to plug the XB1 into.
Also, why would the cable companies subsidize these things when they are all coming out with their own boxes that have the same functionality (minus games). I just got the X1 from ...
I got mine from Amazon and it running quiet and cool. Sorry to those who are having problems. :(
@cyguration
"dude calm down."
allformats said nothing wrong and his post was not "over the top", nor did he sound like he was having a breakdown over the article. Instead, it sounds like someone is getting a bit defensive about an article they submitted.
It's funny, but it fits my ear perfectly and I always find ear buds so uncomfortable!!
It would be smart of Sony to have a bunch of inventory released and in stores by next Friday. I hear that there is some other console launching that day! ;)
I posted this earlier on one of those "Amazon PS4 Failure" articles, but the article ultimately failed approval. I think that it is appropriate here:
It is true that anyone can post on Amazon and on any other website. But, you have to keep in mind that most people do not post -- good or bad. The total number of PS3s that Amazon sold was in the tens of thousands. There are 241 1-star reviews and 297 5-star reviews. That is only about 600 people out of tens of thousa...
@Xbox Fun.
Don't misunderstand me. My problem is that Boogie *seems* to be a shill for whoever is rewarding him. I watch his youtube channel and he definitely leans Sony. Also, he has been fairly critical of the XB1. The fact is that he seems to be so enamored with this new "celebrity" that he experiencing. It is really hard to turn down "swag" and the fact that he appears to be sucking up to MS calls his opinions into question.
