You PS fans are holding on to the "superior hardware" argument, like a starving child holding onto a warm meal...
PS3 touted superior hardware over Xbox 360 - how did that work out for them?... You know what it shows when a group keeps using the same go to response? It shows they have no other argument, and because of that, they will likely try to over-inflate the importance of their claim, to make it seem like a much bigger deal than it actually is. In this case, t...
But profitability or even popularity was not in question in my argument, it was game longevity. Even if Titanfall sells more than Destiny and is more popular, I still believe Destiny will offer more longevity overall. I'm trying to be objective and look at game mechanics, features and content, vs simply just picking which game I think I will like more or will sell more copies. Your argument seems to stem more from a personal opinion or emotional response. That being said, I'm looking ...
You are entitled to your opinion, but it seems like you are downplaying Destiny as a whole based off it's aesthetic. I'm not going to deny the similarities this game shares with Halo, at least from an aesthetic sense, but you can't deny the blatant similarities between Titanfall and COD. Sure, Titanfall may not look like a direct descendant of COD, but the gameplay is eerily similar, from the pace of the game, the way the weapons appear to handle and the shooting mechanics in the ...
As far as longevity goes, Destiny likely has the advantage due to it's ambition, scope and amount of overall content, whereas the bulk of Titanfalls' re-playability comes from playing MP matches over and over. You could argue that many people enjoy this and thus it contributes to the longevity of a game just as much, but it's a different type of longevity. One is based around diversity and versatility, while the other is based around repetition and focused gameplay.
lol, eventually, they will raise the lvl cap to the point where a character can max out the entire skill tree, removing any sense of identity or uniqueness between characters.
Why is Microsoft suddenly the focal point of greed and controversial practices? Like this is a new thing in the corporate business world.
As far as controversial or flat out unethical practices go, MS cannot hold a candle to companies like Monsanto, Halliburton, Blackwater (Academi) and Chevron. Some of you act like the xbox is a doomsday device - time to come back down to real life. The Kinect spies on me? So does the internet. MS is going to release sensitive, personal data...
"I have heard some devs say snap mode won't work while playing some games. Also not sure how useful this feature will be it how well it will work."
- I also am not sure how well it work, and hopefully it works well, as for being "useful," I think it is less about utility and more about preference. I know many gamers enjoy playing while in party chat, so why would you doubt there aren't players that would enjoy video chat while playing games?
I hear the argument against Azure's size as well from PS fans, stating like you did about the 300,00 servers. However what I never hear from them is the size of Sony's Gaikai. If you want to bring up the point that Azure may not be big enough, or want to question the accuracy of it's claimed 300,000 servers, why do you and others, not seemed worried about Gaikai, because from what I've heard, Azure is much bigger than Gaikai, so if Azure's size and coverage area is questio...
Whenever the cloud is brought up, Sony fans always resort to "PS will have cloud too," but it really isn't that simple...
First thing I want to address is the whole, "MS just brings up the cloud to make up for PS having better hardware," rant. Yes, this is likely a reason for bringing up the cloud, but not the only reason. Opponents of MS/xbox would like to think that MS is simply pulling at straws to try and find some "edge" over the PS4'...
You are only emphasizing one possible meaning for "casual" gamer. A casual gamer doesn't necessarily need to be defined as a person who doesn't take gaming seriously and is likely not to spend much (if any) money on the medium. A casual could also include players that enjoy gaming and spends a descent buck, but just don't spend every waking minute playing games.
It's a trick question - Microsoft isn't in need of saving...
Despite shares dropping and industry sales as a whole in decline, MS is still doing pretty good for itself. It's not like they'll be filing for bankruptcy anytime soon. Hell, overall, they are more wealthy than Sony.
And now you can see why PC gamers have been getting shafted for years now with multiplat games, and why PC gamers are so angry about it - You have superior hardware that is not used to it's full potential, due to the industry having to use the "lowest common denominator" and system parity as a guideline.
Of course, PC games tend to have higher graphics options, I am more referring to the lack of content or the scope of games in general.
Is this your juvenile attempt to boast your PS epeen while simultaneous bashing xbox? You are aware that many people on both sides of the discussion, are aware PS4 has a huge lead in pre-orders over xbox, right? The problem seems to be that people think this "news" amounts to much. Pre-orders are a small portion of overall sales.
Think of it this way, in the story of "The Turtle and the Hare", who was initially winning the race, but who actually won? I'...
You are aware that MS is more than just xbox, right? For instance, if you are using Windows right now, you are supporting MS. MS also collects royalties from Android devices, so if you have a droid based phone, you are supporting MS.
"It's the one thing MS does well. Spin things to look good in their favor despite the reality."
- kind of like how currently many gamers spin any news involving xbox or MS, good or bad, into negativity? yeah, they're good at that..actually they're not, they just do it all the time, which makes it even more annoying.
"Why else are they pushing the whole 'power of the cloud'? Because it's a lame excuse as to why the PS4 ha...
First off, you're in the UK and I'm in the states - right there alone explains a degree of difference in our viewpoint on the situation. The US is xbox's biggest market, both for sales and fans. Each countries opinion or approval of the system, can differ greatly, as well as what it would take to make them not buy one. Consumerism in general tends to differ between the cultures.
Second, there is no underestimation on my part. Generally speaking (which is what my o...
It isn't about "loyalty." I have no reason to be loyal to MS - I don't owe them anything. There are a number of factors involved, none of which involve loyalty:
- I despise the PS controller, both the feel and layout.
- none of the exclusives on either console really do anything for me, so this wasn't a factor. The games I tend to play are multiplat.
- I have built up relationships over XBL that I would like to continue ...
It reflects how people actually act in the real world. Immense hate and booing aside, people will buy what they want. If the Xbox was shown to cause cancer, people would still buy it. If the PS4 caused genital herpes, people would still buy it. You really think the initial hate and getting booed at an event, both of which were/are catered to a specific demographic/audience, was really going to have a huge negative effect on X1 pre-orders? Besides, these are just pre-orders, not overall sales ...
“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”
- George Carlin
I'm not saying you have to be a retard to buy an xbox, only that your general faith in humanity seems a bit naive. A lot of people are just blowing smoke. Remember all the hate and anger "fans" had towards Bioware for the Mass Effect 3 ending? Yeah, many of them will be picking up the next big Bioware title, no questions asked. Remember the Simci...
Why don't I personally give it a chance? because despite the improvements, it still has the same button/stick layout, and that alone is enough to steer me away. Even my friends who jumped ship with MS because of their bullshit and are going to get a PS4, say if they miss anything, it will be the xbox controller.
