The problem with people claiming that games need more gamemodes, isn't that the game actually lacks gamemodes, it's that the current gamemodes aren't engaging enough.

I have been using a PC monitor for gaming, for years now. Not only is the picture as good or better than any TV, due their smaller size, they also tend to be cheaper, and the response time for monitors also tends to be lower than TV's. I actually was never a fan of playing games sitting on a sofa in front of a big screen. I've found the shotgun to be really inconsistent. I got a vid of me using it pointblank against a player, with the reticule clearly over him, and not even the damage indicator activating.
The CAR is amazing for for close range, since you don't even have to ADS, but I find myself using the LMG mostly now.
On PC, tearing usually occurs if you have V-sync disabled, unless you have a high hz monitor that can match your framerate after disabling v-sync. That being said, the severity of it can differ between games, and tends to not be as extreme as when it shows up on consoles.

As for the "forced on you" comments relating to the Kinect. Nothing is forced on you. If you don't want one, you don't buy it. It's like saying cable companies force you to buy channels you don't want because they are part of the package.

With companies like Monsanto, Halliburton, Chevron, Bank of America and Citibank just to name a few, I would love for anyone to give me a convincing argument as to how MS deserves even a nomination for worst company in America. Hell, even it's opponent in the bracket, AT&T, I'd argue is a worse company than MS.

Regardless of the age, fun games are fun games. Despite how many times I have played and beat it, if DOOM was offered as a free game for GWG, I would be happy to download it and play it, if I didn't already buy it off the marketplace years ago.

He's talking about the time between initial announcement and release. In the case of Titanfall, he's saying the game should have been released within 2 weeks after the reveal trailer was released.
As for his comment about the 90's and "going in blind," much of that has to do with the internet being in it's infancy, and not some some sort of "advantages" of gaming in the 90's itself.

In that case, you are simply asking for more just to have more. If you have quality maps, what would necessitate needing them in a large quantity, same for gamemodes? That being said, what constitutes as "large quantity?" I see 12 maps and 5-6 modes as plenty, if they are of high quality. BF started with only one game mode, and was MP only or SP with bots - no campaign.
