I don't think it's overrated, but OoT isn't my favorite Zelda. I actually like Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker more than OoT.
Still, you have to give the game props for being enjoyable to play, even after all these years.
Good article. I would like to point out that Sony's released numbers for PSN membership is accurate. Things get messy when fanboys try to speculate how many of those 20 million PSN users are PS3 users. Sony has not released any official numbers recently (as far as I know).
As far as replacement 360 consoles, the writer brings up a decent point. Gamers with bricked systems often say "screw it" and go out to buy another console. These sales count as a new sale. I'm not su...
With roughly 21 million PS1 systems sold in Japan, that's not too hard to believe...
In other news, DS gamers outnumber Game Boy Advance gamers in Japan.
British award ceremony. British game.
You do the math.
According to who?
Oh, how generous for S-E to finally grace the PS3 with their glorious presence. Let us praise them! Thank you S-E for living up to your promise to "treat all platforms equally"! Praise, S-E!
Personally, I would have used Craigslist. There's no $50-a-year charge.
MS is trailing behind everyone else, even with one of the biggest JRPGs (SO4) exclusive to their system.
LOL. You never fail to amuse me with your spin.
So, assuming that GTA found a new home on the 360 with a larger installed base, a cheaper console, a "better" online setup, and exclusive DLC content, why is it that the PS3 sold just as well with a smaller installed base, a more expensive console, an "inferior" online setup, and no DLC content?
It seems to me that GTA is still quite comfortable on the Playstation brand.
Number seven is a game called "Aibo" on the DS by Tecmo. Star Ocean 4 is not on the Top 10 list.
Congrats, Nintendo, on launching a handheld that everyone said would fail, but you proved everyone wrong. Thanks for the great system.
It's good to see RE5 selling well on ALL platforms.
But on that note, 40,000 PS3s sold, selling more than the DSi, Wii, and everything else except the PSP. That's great for Sony! The two top-selling platforms in Japan right now.
So it looks as if -- despite the much lower price of the 360, the exclusive DLC, and the greater 360 installed base -- the PS3 still went toe-to-toe with the 360.
*waits for people to say "Bu bu bu but the PS3 version didn't sell MORE LOLOLOLOL! teh fail!"*
EDIT: Looks like I didn't have to wait long. Hiruma jumped right in there with some BS, as usual.
Usually when we're talking about "first place" and "last place" in a race, it only really matters once the race has ended. I hope I'm not the only one who remembers the DS trailing far behind the PSP when it first came out. It would have been extremely foolish to count it out so early in the race.
After only 2 and a half years on the market, it seems extremely premature to count the PS3 out.
The idea of user-generated content is the antithesis of what true gamers truly want: good games.
Yes, there will be cool stuff hidden in the much of user-generated content, but at the end of the day, wouldn't you rather have the developer or a dedicated mod team pumping out content instead of 12-year-old Billy making yet another crappy Mario World 1-1 remake?
@ Commodore
Ah, but you fail to recognize a mysterious occurance:
The eyesight of these 360 owners is so sharp and keen to see all the "superior"ness of their 360 versions of multiplatform games, yet it just CAN'T seem to notice all of the extra details that Blu Ray movies offer above regular DVD movies. It would seem even weirder that these same people with such wonderful eyesight can see minor framerate drops in the PS3 version of RE5, yet they simply CAN...
Your post is pretty funny. I especially like the part where you talk about "clear objectivity" and how it is "undisputedly better", then you go and pull out random numbers like "98% of multiplats" are better on 360 in "objective comparison".
Crikey! You sure love to use that word "objective".
To quote Indigo Montoya:
"You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means."
Uh, Hiruma, when I said "I'm guessing you didn't play the PS3 versions of those games" I surely didn't mean "I'm guessing you didn't go to one game site and look up an article", did I?
I asked you if you PLAYED them. Did you? Like I said, I bet you haven't. I certainly have.
And both you and "butbutbuttehcell" have missed my point while exposing your very obvious fanboy attitudes. Your original post mocked the PS3 version of the game sa...
And PS3 owners got better versions of Ninja Gaiden, Dead Space, Burnout, Lost Planet, Oblivion, and Bioshock.
Is it really so important to argue about when BOTH the PS3 owners and 360 owners are going to be enjoying a fantastic game
EDIT: OMG YESSSS! BETTER VERSIONS OF LOST PLANET AND BIOSHOCK!!!!
I'm guessing you didn't play the PS3 versions of those games, did you?
My greatest SNES moment was either defeating Lavos in "Chrono Trigger" or resurrecting the world in "Terranigma"...or maybe it was all those awesome scenes from Super Metroid...no wait, it was Super Mario World, or was it Link to the Past?
Geez. When you look back, SNES was a darn fine console. It's hard to even pick a Top Ten, let alone just one.
