And the murderer also brushed his teeth the night before. TEETH OF RAAAAGE! But Crest and Aquafresh are just trying to cover all this up and pin it on the video games.

Not so good...

"The price of Blu Ray dropping, but is it enough?"

Enough for...what?

Enough to win the support of all the movies studios? Oh, that already happened.

Enough to win the format war? Oh, that already happened.

Enough to increase market share above 10%? Oh, that already happened.

Enough to beat DVD's adoption curve? Enough to increase HDTV sales? Already happened.

I'm just curious what "enough" means...

@ RKRigney

The problem is that none of them ARE good.

And three months available =/= three months being developed. There's a difference. The XNA community has been able to use the tools since 2006, like I said.

There are mixed reviews because some journalists aren't clouded by nostalgia.

Pretty much every review that scored above an 8.5 boiled down to "OMG! A NEW RESIDENT EVIL GAME??!?!? YOU GET TO SHOOT ZOMBIES AND OMG YOU GET TO SEE WESKER!!!!" without touching on the game's many, many flaws.

Though Xbox Community games were certainly a good IDEA (who wouldn't want the a PC-esque indie scene on a console?), the execution was terrible.

People can argue. People can point to all two of the worthwhile games from XNA. The fact remains that XNA on the 360 has produced zero (that would be "0", nil, nada) games up to par with the other games available for download on Live Arcade, and that's after three years since XNA launched.

Edge magazine butchers a lot of things, least of which this Top 100 list.

Butchered KZ2 review...check.

Butchered Halo Wars review...check.

Oh Edge. You make me laugh.

LOL. When Gamecritics was playing through KZ2, the one resounding conclusion they kept reaching about Killzone 2 was that it was missing one very important ingredient: an "Only on XBox 360" label on the game case

They haven't even posted their KZ2 review yet.

Let's not forget that Gamecritics was one of the key websites posting a ton of "KZ2 might be disappointing" FUD prior to release and even fabricated flaws about the game in their many, many p...

They're obviously doing something right. The DS just passed 100 million and the Wii has (nearly) sold more than the 360 and PS3 COMBINED. Both Sony and Microsoft have been altering their strategies to imitate Nintendo's success, and 3rd-party devs are rushing to make games on Nintendo's systems. And no, I'm not just talking about shovelware. The DS has three times the number of "hardcore" games that the PSP has, and the Wii is starting to get JRPGs, something both the PS3 and 360 do...

HHG = lol.

Miyamoto is simply doing what he's done since the original NES: reaching out beyond the current definition of "gamer". Many of you are too young to remember, but prior to the NES, gaming had become somewhat of a geeky, male-only, teenager/adult-only hobby that praised powerful hardware.

The NES broke the mold by being an 8-bit system amidst 16-bit competitors. It marketed to kids and families, and it emphasized easy-to-play games and gimmicky fe...

@ Crab

Even if your example holds true, Gears 2 was only one game that came out at the very end of the year. Will everyone really hold out that long while other exclusives are coming out on other consoles all year long?

To use Gears 2 as a lone example is to ignore many of 2008's 360 games (like Tales of Vesperia, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable II, etc) that were announced waaaay before 2008. And this is not to mention the fact that EPIC made Gears 2, not Microsoft. THEY were...

Microsoft SAYS this, but only one thing has to happen for them to change their tune:

Apple or Linux will release a new, flashy, revolutionary OS that everyone starts drooling over and then what will happen? Suddenly, Microsoft's "minor revisions" will turn into a fully-fledged retail release of a NEW Windows version.

Don't believe me? Then take a peek at the startling "me too! me too!" similarities between Vista and OSX, or Windows 7 and Linux.

Even the journalists are saying it. These are the same journalists who just couldn't seem to notice the gameplay issues in Gears 2 and Fable II when they hit last year, so when THESE sort of journalists are noticing the lack of games, you know that there's a a lack of games.

Well, last time we were wondering about Bioshock on the PS3, I do remember Ken Levine saying something along the lines of "There's no hidden PS3 development. It's not coming to the PS3. We've made it exclusive for the 360. Etc etc."

As funny as it sounds, it's more logical to believe Game Informer at this point considering how 2K's statements about their own games end up being untrue down the road.

6211d ago 10 agree0 disagreeView comment

Oh, so true. We've already seen this game with percentages. In Japan, percentage increases for the 360 are 155% meaningless.

What? No Paper Mario? That was (and still is) one of the most unique RPGs for any platform.

This list is lacking variety. Two platformers (DK 64 and BK) that are all pretty much inferior to their predecessor (Super Mario 64), a kart racing game (Diddy Kong Racing) that is a clone of Mario Kart, and Goldeneye AND Perfect Dark (both games are good, but pick ONE for heaven's sake).

This guy sounds disappointed that this game isn't a Halo clone, when it was very clear long ago that this game was going to be more tactical and team-based along the lines of Counterstrike or Team Fortress.

He basically says "Waaaaaa! I can't go solo and take out ten enemies in a row!" Well, no crap. That's how the game was intentionally designed. The ranking system he complains about is also extremely well designed. You can choose to play at your rank, below your rank,...

If you have to break down the average review scores of a multiplat game and divide by console cost, I think that's a metric WORTH ignoring...

People fuss about pixels, but I truly pity you if you notice those things during gameplay. The things I notice are a bad storyline, bad controls, and bad AI, things that RE5 suffers from.

But you're obviously not a gamer since an average of percentage points seems to matter to you more.
