People seem to forget that the NES was panned by the "hardcore gamers" (at the time, the PC gamers)in its first year or two for having lots of shovelware, having a "kiddy" image, for being underpowered (an 8-bit system amidst 16-bit era), and for being gimmicky (the Powerglove, the Light Gun, R.O.B., etc.)

People seem to forget that the PS1 first was panned for being "the new kid on the block" with "no good games" and "no good exclusiv...

Although I'm not saying that ME2 WILL or WON'T come to the PS3...

...this author's only argument is "Oh, it would be SOOO hard to port this game to PS3! Therfore, it won't go to the PS3", and that's stupid. Fanboys used that same argument to "prove" that FF13 would never go to 360 and that Bioshock would never go to PS3...and look what happened.

On a side note, the author tries to use the "multiplats don't sell as well on teh PS3!", and ...

Middleware only destroys innovation...

...when all the exclusive developers disappear.

That's why it is foolish to rely on 3rd party devs. Yes, 3rd-party, middleware, multiplat games can certainly be fun, but they will never push your system. The games that really shine are games like Gears of War (technically not middleware since EPIC made the engine) or Killzone 2 or Uncharted. Those games look fantastic because the dev made their own engine and pushed the platform...

Graphics certainly matter. The only reason why people are questioning graphics right NOW is because a certain console's graphics have been routinely obliterating another certain console's graphics when (supposedly) they were equal.

Anyone who says graphics don't matter is lying. Obviously, graphics aren't the ONLY important thing, but they matter a lot.

Who wasn't amazed when they first tried out the new Mario game on their brand-new SNES (Super Mario World), or Supe...

This news is from VGChartz.

By principle, I say "fail" whether it's true or not.

Dear HHG,

As an avid PS3 fan, I find that IGN is actually one of the BEST sites for me to find PS3 news. There have been a few times when their reviews threw me off a bit, but if there's a list of websites "OMG! SOOOO BIASED AGAINST THE PS3", IGN would be the last site I'd put on it.

Oh, and your flamebait articles are hilarious. Keep 'em coming.

Sincerely,

Any self-respecting gamer on the internet

@ Kigmal

To be honest, I didn't like the PSP's GTA games. They were dumbed-down ports of the PS2 versions.

This game -- on the other hand -- looks like a fresh and unique take on the franchise, which is neat.

This article is kind of odd. The author KIND of praises the PS3, but from the beginning he admits that he doesn't own a PS3 nor does he want one, so it's difficult to interpret some of his statements.

One minute he says...

"The PS3 has a Blu-Ray DVD player, a fantastic selection of films and TV shows, not to mention PSP connectivity. I suppose you could connect your Zune to the Xbox 360 and pretend it was a multimedia giant, with it’s failed HD-DVD drive. Then a...

Nice. Handheld gaming rocks.

Yup. Same here. I'm not the biggest fan of GTA anyway, and when I saw this game all I could think was "Caaaaash in!", but it looks like I was proven wrong.

You forgot all the articles where journalists slammed Sony's lack of advertisements. Now they're advertising TOO much? Lol.

@ Elven6

"It does bring some interesting ideas to the table that are welcome, it should be enjoyed on its own merits and not on those of others."

Oh, I certainly agree. There are a few cool things this game does, but all I'm saying is that it isn't the AAA blockbuster that some people were hyping it up to be. I only wish that some people would enjoy some other recent games based on their own merits and not on those of others, just like you said.

Awesome review for yet another awesome PS3 exclusive.

@ below

Well, all I'm saying is that it's a good thing that PS3 owners have an alternative to MLB 2k9 (which has a 64/100 average on Meta, IIRC).

I don't think this game is going to be the "Ninja Gaiden 3" that some people want it to be.

Not flaming. I'm just basing my opinion on my time playing the demo the and video footage I've seen.

(p.s. For those that didn't enjoy MGS4 because of all the cutscenes, this game is basically one giant QTE cutscene, so be warned...)

This article is incredibly sad.

"Sony, the graphics for the PS3 are stinkin' amazing, but somehow sales should affect how much you are allowed to brag, so please stop flaunting your hardware."

Weren't journalists ragging on Sony for NOT advertising? Now they're being chastised for advertising with graphics that look too good?

Looks fantastic. I've always loved 2D graphics in fighters more than 3D graphics.

Though I'm sure Capcom sold plenty of units, this is shipped, not sold.

Weren't we all saying "OMG!!!! Killzone 2 did NOT sell 1 million yet! Unconfirmed numbers! Unconfirmed numbers!" a few days ago?

This is one of the most overlooked JRPGs this gen, which is sad.
