I'm not really concerned about the "handheld wars"...they don't exist. PSP has sold nearly 60 million units. DS has sold double that, but 60 million units is nothing to scoff at.
I imagine the PSP2 and 3DS will have similar success. Handheld systems rock.
PS3 just won't quit. It has game after game after game...I can't keep up.
Edit: @ below
Or PC, or DS, or Wii, or PSP...
Yeah, it's impossible to keep up. But that's a good thing!
And SE could always back out of it...
I could be mistaken, but I believe Sony helped fund/develop the tools used for FF13, and look how that turned out.
The REAL question is if this game will even be good. Every passing month and every new SE game makes me lose a bit more of my faith in them.
Great list, though I anticipate flames for Splinter Cell being higher than MGS.
Oh, and for those who enjoy stealth, give MGS: Peace Walker a try. It's awesome.
Sub-HD didn't mar Halo 3's "amazing graphics". At least, that's what fans would claim.
And technically, wasn't MGS4 sub-HD? I'm not sure if that is so, but MGS4 is still one of this gen's best-looking games.
So, "yes, it will be multiplatform, but there will be no performance drop or cuts to the gameplay! I promise! I promise!"
When will people stop taking SE seriously? Their company is a joke run by half-drunk mules at this point.
Though I loved Dead Space 1 and look forward to Dead Space 2, I'm going to file this under the "Crysis 2 on 360 will look as good as Crysis on the PC" category.
I guess it just goes to show how mind-blowing UC2's graphics are if everyone has to keep comparing their games to them.
Move seems more natural for an FPS than Natal. Honestly, I've always liked the Wii's setup for FPSs, and it seems like Move is going in that direction. I hope that Move can mimick it but provide better graphics, physics, etc.
I hope it's something good. Their last three big games, SF4, RE5, and Lost Planet 2, were all disappointing.
But are the pictures touched up? They did it for Gears 1 and Gears 2.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times... I'm gullible enough to believe EPIC's press releases.

And yet you didn't say anything to disprove or disagree with what I said. Interesting...
This article is hilarious. Someone hasn't played the original Crysis... The size of the game world alone (not even on max settings) would make the 360 chug.
Disagree with ME2 on that list. There are generations of classic games that I'd take above ME2's soundtrack.
To be honest, they're both above-average-but-not-anything -amazing FPSs.
The only difference is that one is insanely overhyped and overscored and the other is not.
Waaaat?
Though I agree (most) video game journalists are barely a notch above tabloid writers, Pitchford has made his share of dumb comments. There are plenty of other idiot industry CEOs, producers, designers, etc. out there.
I wonder if they are truly low on the supply or if this is fake to inspire more demand.
Yeah, I agree.
This idiot is leading the charge into the ocean, whereas there are actually good Japanese developers who aren't selling as many of their games because it isn't called "Resident Evil".
I actually wanted this game to be good. It's crazy how console JRPGs this gen are mostly average whereas there are a lot of top-notch JRPGs hitting the handheld platforms.
Microsoft charges for online when no one else does.
They could charge $500 for it and convince the media and North American gamers to buy it anyway.
You can slap "Bioware" on it, but it doesn't make it an RPG.
Case in point, Mass Effect 2.
I'm not sure Move will sell better. This generation is standing proof that higher quality =/= higher sales.
Microsoft will market the heck out of Natal, convince North American gamers that it's the best gaming peripheral ever, and make everyone drool over its PS2 Eyetoy clone games.
