Since when did a product not being ready stop Microsoft from launching?
I would not be the least bit surprised if they launched it at E3. Not one bit. The media will go crazy, declare E3 '10 a "clear victory" for MS, Natal will underdeliver, and the game industry will continue to spiral downward.
Enslaved does look interesting, but their last game (which still has some of the best graphics and animations of this generation, though haters will deny it) didn't do so hot with the media. Oh wait. Enslaved will be multiplat...so I guess the media will heap praise upon this game.
And Gears ain't all that detailed.
The irony is that Insomniac is - apparently - only awesome now that they're going multiplatform, whereas they've been underappreciated and underexposed for several years in the media for their games like Resistance and the Ratchet and Clank series this generation.
$50 says that the media labels the first multiplatform Insomniac game as "Insomniac's best game evarrrr!"

This game seemed to fall through the cracks. Like many PS3 games, the media dismisses it in favor of a beta or a demo on the 360.
Microsoft SHOULD win? They've "won" the past four E3 conferences due to their overplaying of every little thing they show, even though - in my opinion - they haven't truly won for the past two or three years.
Microsoft SHOULD win if they actually show off exclusive games, not a Cirque de Solei publicity stunt with Natal and a bunch of exclusive DLC and multiplatform announcements.
I do think it deserves 9s and 10s (I played it. It's amazing).
However, if you read the reviews there is an obvious double standard. Galaxy 2 is "more of the same", which earns it 10s? Other games got knocked for that. I'm not even saying it does not deserve 10s. It's a great game. I'm saying that there is an obvious double standard.
Spend $150 (rumored) on a camera used for casual games, or just buy a Wii? Or just buy several 360 games. Or buy several 360 controllers. Or buy a DSi. Or a PSP.
It's tough for any gamer to really justify this.
When the PS3 eventually overshadows the 360 in terms of sales, it will be a quiet and mostly-ignored event. Microsoft has the media as its pet. When it's pro-Microsoft news, the media goes wild. When it's pro-Sony news (even if it is the same sort of news that the media previously went wild over Microsoft for), there's barely a peep.

They may simply launch it with lag anyway, claim there is no lag, and simultaneously do massive smear PR against the competition.

Hmmmm.
There are some amazing games on the DS, despite the graphical limitations. I'm a proud owner of both a PSP and a DSi. There's no reason to hate either. They're cheap enough to own both.
