Microsoft's show was bad. I hoped they would at least show off SOMETHING, but Kinect was really disappointing (lots of journalists are saying this) and they didn't show of anything else.
Where did Nintendo say it was more powerful than the Wii? I mean, if true: AWESOME! The games do look great, and these are just launch titles.
Is this a surprise to anyone? Kinect =/= hardcore.
I'm sad, because (though some of you think I'm just a mouthy troll) Forza is a very solid series. I would have liked to see it try to topple GT5 once it comes out.
Seeing the 3DS in action was neat, but the "bombshell" for the 3DS was how games like Ocarina of Time and MGS3 Snake Eater will be formatted to 3D on it. THAT was impressive.
I think Nintendo had the most "wow" factor. I mean, they really impressed me both on the Wii front and on the DS (and 3DS) front.
Sony simply showed off solid games, although I still don't think Move is all that special. Nintendo won the show, but I think Sony showed off more memorable games.
I think Steam on the 360 just wouldn't work, seeing how the hard drive is non-standard on the 360. It's also because Xbox Live is such a tightly-controlled network. I mean, it makes sense since M$ charges for it. You don't want people hacking it or whatever.
But as a consequence, it requires Microsoft to integrate EVERYTHING. Remember when checking your facebook on the 360 was announced like it was a big deal?
Portal 2 on PS3 and "the best console version" is basically this year's FF13 announcement for 360...
Both Nintendo and Sony did a fantastic job. Nintendo showed new Zelda, 3DS, and a bunch of 3DS games. Sony showed off GT5, infamous 2, Twisted Metal, and Portal 2 ("best console version" according to Gabe).
But we can all agree that Microsoft lost big time.
Edit @ below
I'm not trying to ignore Golden Sun. I simply gave an overview of what Nintendo showed.
Sick. Sony and Nintendo double-punched M$ in the faaaaace.
Nitendo's was awesome. The 3DS looks so cool, and I liked the new Zelda game.
Microsoft showed off nothing. Finding a copy of Castlevania 64 at a garage sale would upstage Microsoft's show.
Definitely getting a 3DS. I wanted it before. Now I need it.
Handhelds ftw.
MGS Rising was my favorite segement. The Gears series is famous for bullshots and canned "gameplay", so I'll wait to see the actual game.
After seeing the Kinect demonstrations today, can Microsoft or its fanboys really say anything? Anything at all?
Kinect is Eyetoy. Nothing more and nothing less. Microsoft's E3 conference this year was horrible, which is really saying something since Microsoft tends to get everyone hyped up about the smallest things.
And it's funny how NOW segments of the media magically start caring about using motion controls in your video games.
I guess the free 360 S did its intended job...
Microsoft's conference was horrible. It really was. Any hardcore gamers who were hoping for a strong showing from Microsoft were not only disappointed, they were slapped in the face.
The Kinect segment made me laugh inside at all those who claimed "Natal will be awesome! It will appeal to the hardcore, too!"
No big surprise here. Microsoft put out a nice, new, flashy hardware design, yet in the end it's still built by Microsoft.
Prediction: it'll take 6 months after 360 S's launch for the "slim red ring" reports to start pouring in.
Oh, and your conference sucked, Microsoft.
Once again, Microsoft is jumping on the bandwagon as it pulls out of the parking lot. I don't see them really making a big dent in the 3D market. You can only play "me too" for so long, Microsoft.
Oh, and your conference sucked.
Wow. Microsoft showed off....nothing. I mean, really. A 360 slim, Kinect, and some multiplatform games?
Easily the worst E3 conference I've seen from them since the 360 came out.
lulz @ people (read: blind fanboys) STILL thinking that multiplats can compete with the graphics and physics of exclusives...
I think the 3DS is so stinkin' cool. Good job, Nintendo. I'm glad you upped the graphics and the hardware.
