360 owners, if you haven't already, then go play Mass Effect 2. Or play a real open-world game, Red Dead Redemption, a game your PS3 brothers are enjoying. Or play one of the many games on your list of "gotta play" 360 games.
Crackdown was never a great IP. Sorry, but it's true. So go play something else instead.
PW is a must-play for MGS fans. There is so much it adds to the MGS universe.
DO NOT MISS IT!
Yep.
Other than EDGE's score (no big suprise there), this game looks pretty dang average. I played the first Crackdown and didn't like it. I know some people did, but I didn't. And the sequel does absolutely nothing to change that opinion.
EDIT: Sorry. I didn't mean number score. "Score" as in "their stance" on Crackdown 2 being compared to inFamous 2 as the above poster blitz quoted. But I suppose the same will probably a...
Gamers who accept any crap the industry churns out at them will be the death of the industry.
The second half of 2010 is going to be insane for the PS3. LBP2 and Gran Turismo 5 alone are going to devour my time.
That price doesn't inspire confidence. I guess I'll take this summer to catch up on my backlog of games (inFamous, Demon's Souls, and Phoenix Wright).
I think there are cool ideas surrounding Natal/Kinect, but they are simply ideas. Remember all of the "ideas" when Nintendo announced the Wii? Yet, where's our 1:1 motion controlled Star Wars lightsaber game?
The funny thing is how people will bash "interactive movies" like Heavy Rain but praise "interactive children" like Milo.
Reviews are just reviews. I didn't have high hopes for this game but it's not meant to be a AAA game. The media has been wrong before (10/10 scores for GTA4? Wat?) so who knows? I'll have to try this game out on my friend's 360.
Great. Instead of just 12-year-old boys on Xbox Live, we'll add 12-year-old girls to the mix.
I didn't have the highest hopes for this game, but I don't think it was meant to be a AAA title. It's like saying "Ouch, Madden 2010 didn't get a great score". Well no duh. Madden is an average franchise.
Yes, some 3rd parties are losing their console loyalty, but others are only strengthening it. Take this past E3 for example. Several EA games (like Dead Space 2) offered exclusive content on the PS3. Portal 2 went to the PS3 and according to Gabe "will be the best console version." On the other hand, we watched Jaffe, Guerilla Games (not sure if they are owned by Sony), and Sucker Punch all stay loyal to the Sony brand.
So, yeah, the age of exclusive games is dying...
PSN+ is a great deal no matter how you look at it. You get to rent 12 full games a year for $50, you get discounts on DLC, you get free DLC, you get access to demos and betas. Any features they add would just be extra gravy. Any gamer who uses PSN a decent amount should consider PSN+.
Halo 3 is an old game. If something better comes along there's little reason to keep it alive.
At least, that's Microsoft's mentality, right?
I think the media should be callling Microsoft out on this. They have made it sound as if the camera can support any number of players, as long as they fit in front of the TV screen.
Then again, this IS Microsoft we're talking about. I'm sure they simply implied it, mislead everyone, and then pulled the ol' bait and switch.
If players (or a game dev, in this case) don't care about graphics...
...then why are there 1,000s of articles stating "[various upcoming game] will have better graphics than Uncharted 2"?
Call of Duty 4 didn't start that trend. The single-player campaign was actually quite good. It was simply short. No, the trend began when players began accepting CRAPPY single-player games because "well, at least it has multiplayer". Halo 2 comes to mind.
What would they add?
I'm guessing this is in response to PSN+, but PSN+ builds upon an already-great free experience. There is already a ton of content and features on PSN.
On the Wii, however, online is terrible. Heck, I'm surprised the Wii Shop Channel even works. Why would they charge a premium fee for slightly-less-crappy-than-befo re?
I'm a graphics snob when it comes to PC and console games. You can honestly tell when a game is not meant to have great graphics. These games are indie games on PC or handheld games. I'm fine with worse graphics. Sometimes those games have a charm all on their own.
On the other hand, it is "high end" games that are SUPPOSED to deliver the whole shabang (graphics, gameplay, sound, etc) but fall short that irritate me. For example, GTA4 was supposed to have &q...
Since when did sales matter?
Didn't the "OMG! BEST STORYLINE EVER" game Alan Wake sell less than 300k?
360-ville needs to make up its mind.
Sony 1st parties are what make the PS3 a must-own. You don't have to love the Playstation brand, but you'd be a fool to ignore the number of games on it. IMO, there's no other console on the market so jam-packed with great games.
