I'd say Kratos would win. He killed the pantheon of greek gods. Dante might possibly kill Kratos, but then Kratos would just fight his way out of Hades and kill him back. He did it multiple times throughout the series...
Alan Wake wasn't all that amazing (good game, not great), but I agree with the author's assessment. Single-player games have fared horribly on the 360 over the last several years. That's part of why Microsoft's push for JRPGs on the 360 failed miserably.
And it's also why some hardcore 360 gamers cannot see the appeal of the PS3. Yes, PS3 has online, but because that isn't the FOCUS, they cannot comprehend why a gamer would prefer the PS3 over the 360....
Pokemon is stale. They have not done a good job of evolving (no pun intended) the basic battle system and the basic quest structure. I'd play a Pokemon game if the battles werent' (in essense) the same thing as Pokemon Blue/Red and if I didn't have to run around and win 8 gym battles...again.
The first Deux Ex was a groundbreaking game and the best in the series so far, but even that game wasn't all that famous. Heck, most people don't even know that Bioshock heavily ripped concepts from the original DE.
Yep, Demon's Souls is stinkin' amazing. I was playing it last night. It gets frustrating, but eventually you can't help but load it back up and say "You know what? I know I'm at half health, but I'm going to beat this level even if it's the death of me".
What I want in RE6: something that can actually compete with Dead Space 2. Heck, something that can compete with Dead Space.
Dead Space spoiled me. I played RE5 and just laughed.
I'm not at all saying this camera is a bad product, but $300 to $400 for this, or $200-ish for a 3DS? Hmmmmm.
Bioware has slowly been becoming less and less of a "pure" RPG dev, but I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It's just the truth. Baldur's Gate II is far more of an RPG than all of the recent stuff Bioware has released (Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Knights of the Old Republic, etc).
For releasing last, the PS3 sure is looking like the console to buy right now. If you don't have any current-gen system, a gamer's best bet is to pick up the PS3.
Oh, and the Dreamcast sold horribly and launched "last" (or "first", depending on your definitions of each gaming gen). And yet, the Dreamcast was a freakin' sweet console.
Source?
EDIT: Yes, I read that it's from PSM3 magazine, but still...source? If it's not coming from the dev, then it ain't so. Honestly, it probably will go multiplat, but I just want to hear it from S-E's own mouth.
Sad thing is, I'd rather play IGN's version of Kinect instead of the real thing...
Yeah.
Kinect.
THIS is what Microsoft decided to focus on while they closed Emsemble and let Bungie and Bizarre Creations and many other devs go. I can see why virtually every single major Xbox brand exec has left the company.
Yep...
Wow. Thanks for the freakin' spoilers. I wanted to preview the new AC game, not spoil the one that I'm currently playing through...
*Sigh*
Can a video game elicit an emotional response?
If yes, then it is art, just like music, paintings, and literature.
But I thought sales didn't matter, because Alan Wake sold like crap and the 360 has been getting outsold by the PS3 year after years?
Just like Metacritic doesn't matter anymore?
Why are either the 360 or PS3 even on the list? Neither have been around long enough for a fair comparison. It's like people who have been recently adding Red Dead Redemption to "greatest storyline of all time" lists.
360 doesn't belong on the list due to massive RRoD and the recent years so devoid of any games worth buying the system for. PS3 doesn't belong on the list due to a lack of "indie" content that made the PS2 so well-loved.
...
How can hardcore 360 gamers honestly feel that Microsoft is still paying attention to them?
I think the 3DS will basically sell itself. Just like "brain games" helped sell the DS, you could market the thing as a cheap 3D movie player and 3D camera and people would still be interested.
Seems like bull to me. As if Microsoft would have all of these in the pipeline and not announce it at E3...
Halo's sales and popularity won't be killed by anything. It will continue to sell.
However, as far as gameplay goes (which really matters), it went out and bought a pistol with Halo 2, it put the pistol to its own head with Halo 3, and then with ODST it pulled the trigger. Modern Warfare, Bad Company, KZ2, and other shooters were just the worried onlookers.
