I imagine the convention blowing up with Sony's GT5.
Europe + GT5 = everyone takes a "sick day"
Well of course Crytek is going to think Crysis 2 looks better.
Y'all have heard of Turn 10, right? Do you trust THEIR PR?
I'm with you there. The 3DS looks freakin' sweet.
I'm curious how the Kinect demo stations would work (the trailers leave me unimpressed, but I'm willing to try it). Wouldn't the shifting light conditions and all the customers going in and out of the store mess with the camera?
After seeing the trailers, I actually wanted to try this out. For some reason it reminded me of the Conker series. But I guess I'll give it a pass. I think they went with the "Matt Hazard" route, which was a mistake.
I don't think I'll subscribe to PSN+. Why? Because I don't have to in order to enjoy the basic online functions of the PS3.
But with that said, I'm not trying to invalidate anyone's choice to sign up. It just doesn't offer me what I'm looking for. Then again, those discounts to PSN games really is tempting...
How does LBP2 not even get nominated for "Best Platformer"? Did I miss something?
Oh, it's G4...
Yup. PSP didn't beat the DS, but I'm not too worried about that. It sold nearly 60 million units, which is more than enough. I just want better software support from Sony and 3rd party devs for the PSP2.
I tend to get the nostalgic "WOW THAT'S AWESOME" feeling when I play handheld games. They just tend to be more like the old games, since HD graphics aren't a big deal.
This game looks like a clone of Omicron, Messiah, and Geist.
Just add some colorful Kinect minigames and Microsoft will be all over it.
Here's the difference between Microsoft and Sony: Sony puts out a game because they want to impact the gaming industry. If it sells 500,000 (which is what Alan Wake has sold), that's great. Anything beyond that is gravy. On the other hand, Microsoft only wants 4+ million sellers or it's not worth it.
Microsoft was confident they were shipping a "high-quality product" when they launched the original 360.
In other words, they are fully aware they're slapping a new case on the same ol' crappy hardware.
This test really doesn't mean anything. Think of all the people who say "RRoD is a myth! My 360 hasn't overheated ever, and I have a launch console". Testing one console is pointless. You think Microsoft only tested on console before launch? Wait, don't answer that...
Well duh! The failure rate isn't 100%, even if you do crank up the thermostat. If you want a definitive test, perform the same test on 100 different 360 S's, or 1,000.
The graphics do look worse. However, it's my understanding that the developers of the original are not involved. It's just some amateur dev doing the work. It doesn't surprise me one bit. Lots of 360 gamers are saying the demo sucked and that they won't be buying the full game.
The PSP is a friggin' awesome system. I love handhelds. I will continue to buy PSP games and I will buy the PSP2. With that said, the PSP2 will definitely have to step it up.
This test really doesn't mean anything. I mean, think of all the people who say "RRoD is a myth! My 360 hasn't overheated ever, and I have a launch console".

I mean, I wouldn't expect amateur gaming journalists to understand the process of product testing, but c...
I'll just be honest: I don't use UMDs on my PSP anymore. I have a hacked PSP.
Now, I don't condone piracy. I have hacked my PSP so that I can take the UMD, rip the ISO, patch it, and then load it from my memory card. I have the original UMD in case this PSP or the memory stick craps out.
It's a far better way to go, and I imagine that is kinda what Sony was thinking when they made the PSPGo.
If people think Alan Wake's story is the best in years, they are either
A) not playing very many games, or
B) high as a kite
I played and beat Alan Wake. The storyline was interesting but incredibly unoriginal. I am absolutely puzzled by the media's masturbation over this game. It's like when the media claimed GTA4's storyline was on par with the Godfather movie series, or when Gears of War 2 got 10/10 scores for Story in several revie...
Honestly, most of the terrible moments came from 360-related stuff.
Not trolling. Just go watch the conference for yourself.
The hardware issues were not "largely resolved". I guess Microsoft would like people to believe that the RRoD (while certainly a huge problem) was the ONLY problem on the 360.
I'm just...I just refuse to take Microsoft's word at face value anymore. They have "fixed all the problems" the last four times they did a hardware revision.
I'd like a remake of the System Shock series. Or a full X-Com remake (no, not the new shooter coming out). Or a re-release of Terranigma would be cool.
