Of course they diss Xbox Live Arcade. It's a poorly designed system that limits innovation. The only reason why it's able to compete is because it's been out a year longer, therefore it has a lot of content.
At the same time, Sony DID give Capcom their own space on PSN (because PSN has the flexibility to do stuff like that), so perhaps they're just being all buddy-buddy with their new friends on PSN.
"but where is the depth of games that Xbox Live Arcade has to offer?"
I stopped right there.
If I want Remake #1828 of "Random Space shooter" or "Random online Flash game", I'll use Xbox Live. If I want truly original content like Siren and Echochrome, I'll use PSN.
I mean, let's be serious: 75% of XBLA games are carbon copies of one another. Yes, you have some truly fun games like Castle Crashers and Geometry Wars, but ever...
Have you actually played this game? Of course not. You're just a hater, but I'll humor you.
The storyline? It's far from cookie-cutter. Show me another alternate history 1930's military cel-shaded shooter/RPG.
Watching school girls battle alongside wimpy boys? Hmmm. I might take that over watching steroid-injected brutes mutter 5-word sentences and curse every ten seconds (and I'm talking about Gears of War 2, in case you didn't pick up the reference)
Th...
And yet everyone pops a tent in their pants when OXM gives Fable 2 a 9.5 out of 10....
Yes. The Flash game developers will flock to the 360. I'm sure that's the sort of "quality" 360 owners are looking forward to.
In the meantime, the "indie" games on PSN are games like Echochrome, Pixeljunk Monsters, Siren, and Flower. I'll take a $15 Ratchet&Clank game over a $15 flash game any day of the week. XBLA size restrictions for the lose.
I played the Japanese import of this game earlier this year (region-free for the win!), and I can safely say that Valkyria Chronicles deserves every bit of praise it receives. While Square Enix releases one derivative RPG after another, SEGA has made a truly unique RPG with unique graphics, a unique setting, and a unique combat system that is a blast to mess around with. I don't speak Japanese, so I didn't understand the storyline, but from what I've heard the storyline is also very good.
Halo 3's graphics weren't worth paying attention to even when it first came out a year ago, so why would they be important now? I'd much rather see a comparison between Resistance 2 and another shooter that people still actually play like CoD4, or maybe even a comparison between Gears 2 and Resistance 2 (since they are coming out around the same time).
I would love a demo. Better yet, give the demo a basic "level editor" and allow anyone who plays the demo to upload their levels to the LBP servers just like everyone else. Yeah, their editor wouldn't have as many features, but as we've seen in the beta (which had a very chopped-down level editor), creative people can make very creative things when given the opportunity.
For those who don't know, Don Mattrick is the same guy who headed up EA and ran them into the ground. It's funny that Peter Moore (a genuinely good guy) left M$ for EA Sports and Mattrick took his place, and now look at what has happened: Microsoft has continued to tank, and EA has actually began improving!
I thought Blu Ray officially died the day Microsoft declared that "digital downloads are the future". Oh, wait. I got mixed up. That was the day HD-DVD died.
But here's the thing: Microsoft claims the digital downloads are the future, not only for movies but for games also. The irony is that the PS3 is better suited for both those things. I do believe that the PS3 has more TV shows and movies available on the PS store. I do believe that the PS3 has more full-length game...
What's next? Mac OSX copied Windows Vista?
Microsoft never fails to spew BS. I'm amazed that some of you are so willingly hoodwinked by their lies even though they've been doing it for nearly 20 years.
The PS3 has been more expensive than the 360 since the very beginning, and yet in month-to-month sales this year, the PS3 is outselling the 360. 360 fanboys mock the PS3 for having "no good games", but what an insult THAT would be! If the PS3 has "no good games", you 360 owners should be ashamed that such a system has been outselling your beloved 360.
I really could care less if the PS3 or 360 sells more this holiday. Microsoft has proven time and time again (...
The "nobody wants Home" comment is very interesting. What sort of evidence do journalists have to support this claim, because the clamor amongst gamers seems to prove the opposite. Yes, not EVERYone is going to want Home. Personally, I'm not too interested in Home, but there IS a demand for it. I'm puzzled by fanboys who claim...nay...PREACH that Home will be a complete failure when it hasn't even come out yet. It's as if they don't want Sony to have anything cool. This same attitud...
Sony's fault? So you're saying that the 360 is far cheaper to develop for? That's a laugh. If anyone is to blame, it's Microsoft. They've been waving around briefcases of cash (as they usually do), which is causing contention between the developers and the publishers.
So, if 3rd-party exclusives are dying, how do we choose a console? It's all about the games, right?
Okay, so I guess that 1st and 2nd party exclusives would be a deciding factor, right? Gamers would naturally want a system that has more 1st and 2nd party developers taking full advantage of their system. Okay, so I guess this next question is only natual:
Who has more 1st and 2nd party developers and IPs?
Wait.
Wait for it.
Yeah. Th...
Lol. You're an idiot. Do you know WHY they gave you all that stuff? Two reasons: your credit card info could have been stolen on THEIR software. That's not good press. The second reason is -- because your credit card could have been stolen -- you could have taken them to court.
In other words, you willingly swallowed their bribes without even realizing your own legal rights. I laugh at you.
Square Enix has been dying, but unfortunately they own several franchises that gamers like me hold near and dear to our hearts, so it's hard for us to admit it. But in reality, SE is becoming very much like EA.....actually, they're becoming worse. You see, EA will abuse IPs and release mediocre cash-ins, but SE has basically resorted to allowing bribes to determine their company policy. I'm sure the devs aren't happy about that. I imagine that within a few years, devs like Bioware, Level 5, a...
OMG DIS IS CRAZY!!! 360 LOST ANOTHER XCLUSIVE TO DAH PS3! DAH END IS NEARRR!!!
Well, ain't this interesting. While other N4G users scramble to reply on the "possible MGS4 on 360" rumor thread, the confirmation of Bioshock 2 on the PS3 (a previous 360 exclusive franchise) is quietly ignored. Gee, I LOVE the interent.
This article is so sad. It represents a large section of the 360 fanbase that willingly lets Microsoft walk all over them so that they can feed their addiction. Throw in a few achievements and a case of Mountain Dew and you have a genuine Xbox Crack Addict. Never mind that you're willingly buying faulty hardware. Never mind that you're spending $50 a year on an online system that fails more often than the "crappy" free PSN (several well-documented failures and loss of stability of X...
The tools might be there, but the limitations are also there. The creator of Braid -- the highest-rated XBLA game to date -- said that he was disappointed with XBLA and its restrictions. He said that the size restrictions forced him to focus more on making the game smaller instead of simply making a great game. He also added that he will likely not do an XBLA game ever again. Other developers, including Capcom, have complained about the limited size. And if you're thinking that a smaller dev ...
