This is a lot sooner than I expected. With Mario & Luigi RPG 3 coming out (along with a glut of other games), I might have to fall prey to Nintendo's shiny new handheld. D^:

Awwww. It has a smiley face.

Not only is Eidos dead (r.i.p Looking Glass Studios), but S-E is on life support.

Show me one S-E console game this gen that has higher than an 80 on metacritic.

The Halo franchise defeated itself. It's only some media outlets and the loyal fanbase that keeps trying to pretend that Halo holds some lofty standard that is yet to be beaten.

So let me ask you hardcore 360 fans: do you like the new direction Microsoft is going?

I wonder if this company will support Microsoft after they cut them loose. These guys would be awesome making multiplatform games.

I totally agree with Heavenly Sword. That game was fantastic. I played it when I bought my PS3 in Dec 2007 and I had to pop out the disk, check the label, and make sure I was actually playing the game called "Heavenly Sword"...because based on all the hate and overall "meh" reviews it received, I thought it wouldn't be that great. To this day, no game has matched the quality of that game's facial animations. Period. Play the game if you don't believe me.

I'd a...

If the media wasn't a business fueled by agendas and unspoken biases, I'd agree with the author that fanboys can have an almost religious response to positive and negative reviews.

However, reality is something entirely different. Reality is that we have a video game media market that isn't consistent, it isn't fair, it isn't even, and it isn't objective. It is full of double standards, fanboyish hate, under-the-table bribes, and lunatic loyalties, and even outright buyouts of me...

You always seem to bring up the fact that Sony is in third place as if that matters. Any gamer knows that the 360 released a year earlier. So, why brag about starting the race early? Let's take a more logical approach: which one has been selling more year-by-year.

Hmmm. That would be the PS3.

I know it's trendy to say "Sony messed up this gen" and "they really screwed up with teh Cell" and all that, but I hope I'm not the only gamer on this site who recalls how the PS2 was totally blasted for its first two years on the market because of the "Emotion Engine" hardware and how tough it was for developers to tap into it and all that.

In fact, for a short period of time I remember some pundits claiming the Dreamcast would completely destroy th...

The awesome thing about the PS2 is that even a "Top 25" list would leave out a lot of great titles.

LOL is all I have to say.

First two years of the 360's life: 13 million sold.

First two years of the PS3's life: 21 million sold.

Yet, the PS3 needs saving...

EDIT @ Kevincox

As another poster pointed out, my numbers were off but the point stands. Ooooh. I made a mistake and posted incorrect numbers. I'm SUCH a big fanboy! Try refuting my argument next time, mmmkay?

Funny thing is, I could care less about sales. It...

Yeah. Pretty good score. Personally, I'm giving it a pass. Didn't care much for GTA4 in the first place, so I doubt the DLC will make me pick it back up in favor of newer games. After all, I have Halo Wars and Killzone 2 to play this month. GTA4 is old hat. :P

Well, the article's argument is that Microsoft is losing its grip on "independent" retail outlets, so they need to open MS-themed stores to push their own product more effectively.

Not saying I agree with the author's assertion, but that's pretty much what he's saying. Personally, I think there are other signs that Microsoft could be in trouble. This isn't one of them, though.

Retro Game Challenge is like "WarioWare" for long-time gamers. Anyone with 10+ years of gaming under their belt owes it to themselves to try this game.

A Microsoft retail store could be pretty cool, especially if they offer you exclusive deals ("company" stores like Nintendo stores or Apple stores tend to do this a lot).

On the other hand, history shows that Microsoft's previous attempts at this sort of retail venture have all failed miserably (and that's not flaming. That's cold, hard historical fact. Look it up before you slam "disagree").

Fanboys care.

It's just more PR bullsh*t anyway. Sony said they're ahead in PAL regions. Microsoft just can't stand it, so they gotta fudge the numbers to save face. And they use Chart-Track to prove it? This is almost as bad as Greenburg citing VGChartz...

This Edge review shows two things:

To PS3 owners, it shows that Edge doesn't explicitly hate the PS3. They just hate ALL games and want to spout their elitist opinion.

To 360 owners, it shows that Edge really is a crap source for reviews, even if your "enemy" -- the PS3 -- has been receiving bad scores from them.

6183d ago 9 agree3 disagreeView comment

Edge gave a 7/10 to Halo Wars, which -- based on the demo -- deserved a much higher score than that, IMO.

Trolling Central is that way ----->
