Where did I mention the PS3? Your fanboy colors are showing...
That sucks. RARE still has/had some of its "old school" talent. I'd hate to see them lose it.
I think the PS3 needs a price cut to stay competitive. However, consider this:
- in 2007, the PS3 was nearly double the price of the cheapest 360 SKU. It also had "no good gamez!" as everyone knows, yet it outsold the 360 worldwide. No, I'm not comparing the first year of PS3 sales to the first year of 360 sales. Go check the numbers. The PS3's FIRST year outsold the 360's SECOND year.
- in 2008, the PS3 outsold the 360 for 3/4th of the year. The 360 took a...
Wow. Nice. I might pop in my copy of UT3 on the PS3. That's one nice thing about the PS3 version....you can use 90% of the mods that PC gamers use.
If the gaming world ran according to Gabe Newell's ideas, I'd shoot myself in the face. We'd be playing expansion pack after expansion pack on an outdated engine.
His vision works fine for PC gaming, because PC gaming is having a lot of problems from a business standpoint (pirating games, software compatibility, losing shelf space to console games, little to no advertising, DRM, etc). However, his system would throw a massive monkey wrench into the console market, which is JUST s...
Huh. Kinda disappointing.
I stopped taking G4TV seriously a LOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. They're very entertaining, but nothing more.
Interesting. This game is supposed to have cross-platform play between the PC and 360...maybe the PS3, too? That's be sweet.
@ Foxgod
Yep, they could say that, but then PS3 owners can say "But MGS4 has a 94, and LBP has a 95".
I'm pretty sure that's why most 360 fanboys stopped worshiping Meta a while ago.
Funny how it's a 360-related article that got removed. I wonder how long it would take a "PS3 is doomed" article to get cut...if it even gets cut at all.
It makes sense to me. If you're an RE fan with an HD setup, why would you settle for a 480p DVD?
@ Cajun Chicken
Well, I guess your point stands, considering that all of the proprietary engines used on the 360 so far (for instance, the engines used in Halo 3, Viva Pinata, and Banjo Kazooie N&B) all look inferior to Gears of War, let alone Gears of War 2...
Didn't this happen a while ago? I'm pretty sure Sony announced 20 or 21 million in December...
Yeah. It does suck. I hope they can sort out the problem.
Please. Stop. You can't expect the internet to actually take PR statements at FACE VALUE, can you? It needs to be skewed, twisted, mangled, taken out of context, and misrepresented to be considered "news worthy" on the internet. Sheeesh.
I don't think any console has reached its limit, not even the Wii (go play Super Mario Galaxy and tell me those graphics look crappy).
I think a more accurate statement would be that UNREAL ENGINE has reached its limit on the 360. It's a shame that 360 devs keep leaning on that middleware technology to make their games instead of using custom engines. That's what PS3 devs do, and Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, and Heavy Rain are the product of that. Heck, even AAA Wii games use their o...
92 on Meta based on 54 reviews.
Where is your god now, haters?
@ DJ
That's the CURRENT number. When the problem first blossomed, the number was between 30-40%.
And of course, that doesn't take into account the number of people (maybe a ton, maybe only a few) who didn't send their system in for repairs but simply bought a new one.
The issue isn't whether or not Microsoft fixes the issue. They won't. It costs too much. 1 billion bucks for RRoD "repairs" still hasn't stemmed the tide of broken systems. Imagine how much it would actually cost to alter the product line and FIX the problem.
However, the real issue is the willingness of some so-called "gamers" to take these hardware failures on the chin and accept them. That's insane, if you ask me.
(Not to mention the fact that...
Gaming is a big market now. Of COURSE there's going to be a huge bias. That's the way the media works. It's amazing that some people don't grasp this (or perhaps they don't CHOOSE to grasp it). It's easy to poke fun at "Fox News" for being incredibly one-sided, yet the idea of this happening in the gaming world is SOMEHOW unheard of!
When you have Halo 3 swag bags and special laptops sent out to reviewers of Vista, you know there's a problem. When you have media outlets...
